I'm continuing this story on my primary blog! Reblogging it here just in case.

Warnings: None
Summary: The last time you saw Sharon Carter was moments before the Avengers battled over the Sokovia Accords. Now it's 3 months after the blip and she's all you think about. You thought you would never see her again but who knows what will happen when you travel to Madripoor with Sam, Bucky, and Zemo.

Chapter 2
“Sharon?” I ask, stepping forward.
She glances at me for a split second and then returns her attention to Zemo. I can barely think straight. It’s like my mind can’t fathom the fact that Sharon is standing right in front of me. There was a coldness in that glance and it chilled me to the bone.
“You cost me everything.”
“Sharon, wait,” Sam says while holding up his hand toward her.
“Someone recreated the super-soldier serum and Zemo had a lead.”
“That explains why you guys are here. And Selby’s dead.”
Again that glance, it’s almost like she’s looking through me instead of at me.
“So what are you doing here?” Bucky asks.
“I stole Steve’s shield, remember? I also took the wings for your ass, so that you could save him from him,” she said motioning to Zemo with her gun.
She looked at me finally, really looked at me.
“And you should know why I’m here. I told you everything before I left. I didn't have the Avengers to back me up so I’m off the grid in Madripoor. “
I can’t find the words. There’s nothing I can say that will make up for what Sharon has gone through. What she’s gone through for us. Luckily Sam steps in.
“Don’t blow that smoke. I was on the run, too.”
“Was. Is. Big difference. I don’t speak to my family anymore,” she shook her head, “I can’t. My father doesn’t know where I am-”
With every word, I feel worse and worse for not contacting her after the blip. She's been going through all of this alone and I couldn't be bothered to even send her a text.
“Listen… Sharon, we need your help,” Bucky says.
She lets out a bitter chuckle.
“Please,” I utter.
Her eyes meet mine with a sigh.
“This isn’t over.”
I incline my head in thanks.
“I have a place in High Town. You’ll be safe there.”
We follow Sharon back to her place in High Town. There are guards at the door of her luxurious house. Art displays fill every corner.
“Looks like breaking all those laws is treating you well,” Sam jokes.
“I thought if I had to hustle, might as well enjoy the life of a real hustler. You know how much you can get for a real Monet?”
“Deactivate your hustle mode. You sell fake Monets.”
“No. She means real. This gallery is specialized in stolen artwork. Monet. Van Gogh. Classics.” Zemo corrects.
Sharon looks back at us with an amused look as shock registers on Sam’s face. I can’t stop marveling at the beautiful pieces around us.
“Come on, you guys need to change. I’m hosting clients in an hour,” Sharon calls.
I browse through Sharon’s extensive collection of clothes looking for something suitable. She strides out in a black jumpsuit holding a drink.
“Much better,” she says with a small smile. Her new outfit is unbelievably flattering, and that smile was a lot more welcoming than the look she gave me back in the alleyway. Finally, I find something that will fit and make my way to the bathroom to change.
When I come back out everyone is talking about John Walker. I take a seat on the opposite side of the couch from Bucky.
“Please. You buy into all that stars and stripes bullshit. Before you were his pet psychopath, you were Mr. America! Cap’s best friend,” she says while sitting down between the two of us. She gives Bucky a mocking smile.
“Wow. She’s kind of awful now,” Bucky says while looking pointedly at me and Sam. I make an apologetic face.
“Karli Morgenthau and at least seven others have taken the serum,” I say, desperate to change the topic.
Sharon purses her lips.
“You guys really should steer clear of all of this... for your own safety,” she says, making direct eye contact with me.
I can’t handle the mixed signals. Does she hate me for not running away to Madripoor with her? Is it in the past now? I can’t tell, but hiding feelings is what Sharon does best. I won’t know how she truly feels about this situation unless she wants me to. I sit and listen as we continue to chat about the Flag Smashers.
Sharon stands up suddenly.
“Nagel works for the Power Broker.”
“We need your help, Sharon. I can get your name cleared."
She pours herself another drink.
“Are you haggling with my life?”
“Not like that.”
“I don’t buy that. You're pretending like you can clear my name.”
“Or maybe it is hypocrisy. Maybe you’re right. What happened to you. But I’m willing to try if you are.”
“I don’t trust charity.”
“All right, a deal then. You help us out, and I get your name cleared.”
I watch hesitance dance across Sharon’s face. I want her to say yes, I want her to get back to her family, but mostly I want a chance to fix what I broke.
She shakes Sam’s hand and takes a big swig of her drink.

Chapter 1
I can’t stop thinking about her. Maybe it’s because I’m finally getting back into fieldwork, or maybe it’s because I need something to drown out the constant bickering of the men around me, but I cannot get Sharon Carter out of my head.
The world whirls past me whilst on the plane to Madripoor. Sam and Bucky had asked me to help them track down the Flag Smashers and their super-soldier serum supplier. It’s been three months since the blip, three months of absolute insanity, I figured that maybe the exhilaration of a new mission would help me out of my funk.
“Everybody loves Marvin Gaye.”
“I like Marvin Gaye.”
“Steve adored Marvin Gaye!”
Unable to bear another second of Sam, Bucky, and Zemo’s ridiculous conversation I put in my earbuds and lay back against the seat. I drift off to a different place, a different time.
Sharon was able to bring us our equipment back. Cap’s shield gleams in the trunk of her car. She’s put herself at risk to do this for us. I can only hope that somehow she can avoid the consequences.
“Thank you for this Sharon, I know how dangerous helping us is.”
“It’s worth it. I know what you're doing is right.”
We stand there together, the wind blowing through her hair, and savor the last moments before the avengers are torn in half.
“Y/n you should come with me. I have to go into hiding now that I helped you guys and you should too. Who knows what will happen out there, if anything goes wrong you’ll be arrested.”
Definitely not what I expected from her. She’s right though, if we lose this fight I’ll be locked up for a long time. Going off the radar with Sharon doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.
“We can help each other. We’ll lie low until all of this is over. I don’t want to watch you get thrown in jail”
Her eyes search my face for an answer. I want so badly to say yes but I can’t. I need to help Cap, it’s too important a cause.
“Y/n-“
“Y/n.”
“Y/N.”
I quickly snap out of my daze. Sam is standing over me with an amused look on his face.
“Rise and shine, we’re about to land in Madripoor!”
We make our way to Brass Monkey. The colorful lights of the city shine down on us, music is thumping in the distance. Zemo gave us strict instructions to stay in character no matter what happens. He picked out clothes for us and everything, how fun.
Everything goes well until Sam gets a phone call. Selby makes him answer it on speakerphone. Sarah makes the mistake of calling the “Smiling Tiger” Sam.
“Kill them!”
Glass shatters and Selby's guards cry out. Before anyone can move Selby is dead on the ground. A bullet had been shot mysteriously through the window.
A guard moves to grab my arm but I shift out of the way and knock him out. Bucky and Sam quickly take out the rest of Selby's men. Only a few seconds pass and we already have a bounty on our heads. We have to move. Fast.
We hurry down the street, a woman mimics gunshots at us. I can feel the tension rising. Everyone is watching us scramble for a way to get out of here.
“This is not good,” I mumble.
People start shooting at us from all directions. A bullet grazes past my shoulder. The four of us run down the road looking for cover.
“I can’t run in these heels!” Sam yells.
We sprint through the alleyways, dodging people left and right. We're completely surrounded. Once again an unknown shooter takes out three people trying to kill me.
“You seem to have a guardian angel,” Zemo says, looking at me curiously.
“Well, this is too perfect.”
A female figure steps out of the shadows and pulls back her hood.
“Drop it Zemo.”
