OK Tumblr Geriatric Ward, let’s talk about your posture-
there are things you should be doing now to prevent yourself from starting to look like 🥀
Why does it matter? Future you would like to avoid the pain, limited motion, and fall risk that goes along with worsening posture.
What’s the focus?
1. Keep the flexibility in your spine
2. Stretch the muscles in the front
3. Strengthen the muscle in the back
Here are some simple things you can do daily while sitting and when you get up to go into the bathroom or the kitchen
Keep the flexibility by doing these repeated movements: 10 repetitions several times a day
The goal is to give yourself a double or triple chin. Keep your nose pointing forward, don’t let it tip up or down
Thoracic extension- use a chair with a seat back that comes up to the level of your shoulder blades. Try to bend back over the top of the chair without arching away from the seat back and without extending your neck. If the pressure from the top of the chair is uncomfortable you can place a towel there
Stretch the muscles in the front by using a door frame. This one will feel good afterwards
If this isn’t enough of a stretch you can do one side at a time. If you have the right arm up step forward with the right foot and turn slightly to the left. Then do it on the other side.
Strengthen the muscles in the back by squeezing your shoulder blades together for a count of 10 and then repeating 10 times. You can do this several times a day Hint: Don’t lift your shoulder blades up
There are lots more exercises for strengthening your back muscles but this is a good starting point and easy to do. I like doing it while driving
Tips:
Do the best you can
If it hurts stop
Envision future you saying thank you each time you do one of the exercises

i read your wanderer character analysis and woah!!!! WOAH. everything was so on point and it really made me view him in a deeper light. for that, i have to thank you a lot. I've also noticed that you like scaraether/aescara! they're such a good ship and i love the way you write them!
this is a general question, but what do you feel about when people write self insert of wanderer? is there any particular nitpick or stuff you have to say? i was just curious so no pressure if you don't wish to answer this ask! but anyways, that's all from me hehe
apologies for quite a late response anon but it's never too late to say im grateful to hear these words. i like what came out of my analysis and im ecstatic to hear about every time people find it useful!
as to your question, if i understand it right, i don't mind it at all with any characters. surely there are ways they're intended to be perceived by authors but if someone's day becomes better if they attribute some of their characteristics to their comfort character? sure, why not!

i was watching a short analysis of arcane and during the final scene of a custody fight i had a thought that even tho we see jinx in her head all moving and shielding herself, in reality she probably froze (since she ends up lying on a floor in her headspace and then she's suddenly standing), but silco was able to recognize that she's triggered and has a break down, and vi needs to stop because he probably saw it too many times and knows at least something about how to help his daughter during her psychotic episodes, and vi just didn't have a chance to learn that.

If there's one piece of advice I can give to fic writers who feel discouraged by the "content creation" culture and lack of community engagement in modern fandom, it's to try writing for an audience of one.
And I don't mean write for yourself!
Find one weirdo friend that enjoys sharing ideas with you, and write fanfiction for them. Get to know their taste, and tailor your writing to it. One person who will message you while reading your stuff and want to discuss it deeply and dig into and challenge your ideas - they will give you more creative satisfaction than a hundred vague, vacant comments of praise.
Maybe some other folks will end up reading and enjoying your work! If they do, they will probably have more in-depth things to say, too, because you'll be writing deeply on a specific set of concepts, not creating broadly palatable, derivative, marketable drivel meant to appeal to a large audience.
And if no one else reads it, you'll still have that one weird friend.
