He didn’t know what to say. He could give her the same shpeel. The same phrases over and over again. It’s not your fault. You shouldn’t have to fix it. They’re just mad at each other not you. Truth was, she wasn’t going to change her mind by some simple words. Tommy knew that more than anyone, more than anyone could. His mother offered more than once to take her in, to give her the paperwork needed to leave them. But that meant having to admit to Kimberly that he spilled to someone else. Many people in Angel Grove already knew about how Kimberly’s parents were–it was a small town after all. Tommy raises a hand slowly, placing it upon Kimberly’s shoulder farthest from him–rubbing it and pulling her in. She didn’t need his words, she just needed him there. 

opening up like this wasn’t something kimberly did often anymore, she used to be much more of an open book, but the older she got the more she closed off. every argument, every reminder that she wasn’t good enough, every night spent juggling homework, and extracurriculars, and workout schedules, and hoping nothing extraterrestrial would interfere with her meets --- it all got to be a lot, and it made her build higher walls. with her friends, at least, and especially with tommy, she was getting better at letting those walls down again. but it was hard, she didn’t always know how to do it anymore. still, she appreciated tommy’s effort, and leaned into his side comfortably.  “ thanks, tommy, ”  she mumbled, smiling just a bit up at him.

“ I dunno, feels like it’s my fault. ”  she takes a breath, and in the moment kimberly’s walls come down, almost as if there have never been any to begin with. she’s not sure if it’s better or worse that she seems resigned to all of this, she’s accepted it.  “ like if I was just better, they wouldn’t fight as much. but I’m not, so I just. . .  have to work harder. I have to be the best. I have to make them proud, for once. ”

MAYBE THE DIAMONDS.   —   a icon & dash icon border pack by concinnitytm.

here’s something small to help out. included in this pack are a few different variations to the border style i use on my multimuse and kind of really like, and a pack of dash icon shapes to match your icon shapes. the rp icons are anywhere between 82x82 px minus borders to 100x100 px in size; they’re all automatically on the same canvas, but it says on the folders what is the smallest possible canvas you need to use for each shape is if you keep all the borders if the blank space is not your thing. it is recommended that when using, you drag your chosen style to an another file, as all styles are on the same file.

as for the dash icons, they’re all between 60px and 64 px in size and on a 64x64 canvas, so you can just drop the icon you want to use in the folder and save it as a png, and it’s display on the dash as it does in photoshop. the font used in the dash icon letter is florence. like or reblog if you plan to use, credit appreciated by not required. download link under cut.
