Six Hundred years had passed since I last saw him. This sounds like a bad fantasy soap opera, but this was my life. I had watched time crawl on without me and technology boom. I lived though centuries of wars and hardships. The most surprising thing for me was it got easier to see death, I just was never touched by it.

I was constantly on the move. If I stayed in one place too long, people would see there was something odd about me. I stopped courting relationships, knowing it would be too difficult to constantly say goodbye to them. I was frequently alone with my thoughts.

There were many times I would think I saw him again, but it was never for long. Though I longed for the taste of the afterlife, no such gift was presented to me. Another name, another life, I was on the move.

All because the grim reaper couldn’t take my rejection of his affections.

In the 15th century, Death asked you out. You rejected him. Furious and humiliated, he swore to never return for you. Six centuries later, you’re still alive.
