#Confession 4: 🌀
Once upon a time, many years ago I believed straight hair was better, straight hair was prettier. Like many other young ethnic girls growing up I some how came to believe straight hair would make me happy. Straight hair was what I would need to be beautiful, to be successful. I was told by the industry I needed to straighten my hair, I was told by endless amount of people over the years to… STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR.
I began chemically relaxing my hair in Gr. 5!
Oh the burns and scabs the harsh chemical would leave on my scalp. Over the years my hair began to thin, the chemicals also loosened my curl. Then came January 2010, my New Years Resolution! I decided I was going back to my curls! My return to natural! And I havnt looked back, I can honestly say thinking back I have no idea what or why I believed it. Ridiculous to have ever listened to society. I love my curls! I wouldn’t trade them in for anything. I learned to love exactly what God gave me.
