having a child has taught me that every toddler is completely justified in their frustrations and tantrums because learning how to do something you have literally never encountered or heard of before is insane. and being expected to be completely calm in the face of this constant barrage of overwhelming information is doubly insane.

i got charlie a sticker activity book and it occurred to me i have to TEACH someone how to unpeel stickers. it's SKILL that requires DEXTERITY and FINE MOTOR ABILITY. i thought it was obvious that you have to curl the page a little bit to create a break in the cut so the sticker comes up.

obviously a fucking BABY wouldn't know that because they have no background experience to inform their thought process. OBVIOUSLY. and OBVIOUSLY the LITERAL BABY wouldn't get it right the first few times. it would OBVIOUSLY take practice. lots of it.

i hate this feeling. it's so obvious. why are children treated so badly when they're learning everything for the first fucking time. why do people treat children so horribly and expect so much. they're brand new. why didn't i get the same grace i give to my child? why did no one have patience for me? why, when it's this easy?

I think we as a fandom should move to, or create an entirely new wiki.

First, the fandom wiki is badly moderated and I'm fairly sure does Not always have accurate info. If we created a wiki outside of the fandom website, we could make sure it's moderated well by willing media literate people and have info that's up to date and accurate !! Also info without bias and stating when things are implied, being neutral with factual information etc etc.

Second, I remember when the Minecraft wiki moved to Weird Gloop (the website host), the wiki became much clearer, easier to read, felt more structurally sound and was more pleasing to the eye. Visually it improved a lot along with accessibility.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to structure it or how to make this a possibility, please do tell !! I'd love to see this idea come into fruition

This project doesn't acknowledge Pololū Valley as a wahi pāna (a celebrated and storied place in the cultural traditions of Hawaii/Hawai'i) and instead treats it as just plain land that can be sold to a highest bidder.

Honestly I think another aspect to consider on the whole 'small artists are entitled for wanting me to click a button that could get them their next job' debate is that minorities are hit 100x harder by the lack of support on their stuff. Those who make queer art, art of characters as people of color often have to deal with BACKLASH towards their art. That combined with nobody giving them positive feedback means poc in particular rarely stay in ANY fandom spaces. What's the point of posting if being an artist in general is only getting harder [sharing ur art could expose it to ai, to reposters and making art that's too queer or centered around poc, etc risks harassment] and on top of it strangers will jump down your throat to tell you what you create isn't worth the seconds it would take to write a nice comment and reblog if you complain about it too. Genuinely if you don't think that would get to you over time, you're either lying or your stupid.

Being blunt. You just don't care about artists.
