i recently read the highlanders novelisation and I liked the part where Jamie asks the Doctor when he's going to perform bloodletting on the injured Laird. because that's what makes sense to him!
cut to me googling when bloodletting fell out of practice to see if Victoria would also be a fan. turns out yes (end of the 19th century)
sometimes you have to have a silly idea and see it through to completion. plus I love love LOVE when the Doctor's companions gang up on him, and I wanted to draw J + V in their matching tartan because it was just too cute

The problem with 8-10 episode shows is that the characters never catch a break. There's always some big plot thing happening. They don't even have time to go to the beach episode anymore. They're too busy fighting God or whatever to solve the mystery at a 7eleven anymore. Sad
#get those beasts to the zoo.#you're so right... I feel like in shows with fewer eps each individual episode has so much more expectation on it#which means it sucks more if one is bad#and so they all get more uniform and similar as a result. similar tone and the same Vibe across a series#like we miss out on the occasional insanely good and weird story in like. episode 16 of 22#+ you can play with formulas and do more Strange and Weird stuff in longer series because you can establish a real status quo#I know workers' rights are involved in the shorting of TV shows to some degree but like. give me a 22 episode series ever 3 years. it's goo
