If anyones interested in learning about the first black vampire short story, published in 1819, heres a link to the wiki, its called The Black Vampyre, and its about a former slave turned vampire who seeks revenge on his slave master. Its actually a first in many categories!
I feel like some people need to relearn Genre Expectations... "Man, this tragedy sucks!!! Why didn't they just do XYZ, then everything could have ended happily!!" well, then it wouldn't be a tragedy, would it. "Man, this lighthearted teen romcom is terrible, it's so sappy and unrealistic!!" Well, yeah. If it had been gritty and dark, it wouldn't have been a lighthearted romcom, would it. Is the writing actually bad or are you just trying to order a milkshake from a Home Depot
A Christmas tradition: the British eat more Brussels sprouts per head than any other country in Europe. The average Briton will consume 1,008 Brussels sprouts over a lifetime with two-thirds of our total sprout consumption occurring outside the festive season in the UK.
They were believed to have been cultivated in Italy in Roman times, and possibly as early as the 1200s in Belgium- hence the name ‘Brussels’. The earliest recorded reference in English was in 1796.
Love them or hate them, Brussels are good for you. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, folic acid and potassium and contain vitamin B6, iron, thiamine, magnesium, vitamin A, phosphorus and niacin- an 80g serving of sprouts contains four times more vitamin C than an orange. The ancient Chinese recommended sprouts as a treatment for bowel problems.
