For reference, I live in the southwest, so most of that is drivable (ish). I'd like to stay on the west coast to have a better chance of cheap tickets. If you have good hiking suggestions too, I'm all ears
Mid Summer camping trip 2023. First time camping in a hammock, which did not go well. Failed to account for insulation beneath me, and was helping run a school camping trip, so I was a bit hypervigilant. No sleep that night lol, but the bears didn't eat any of the kids so I count it as a win.
It got super foggy on the whale watching trip I went on while I was in Washington, and as we were turning back to Port Angeles, the Race Rocks came out of the mists. It was something out of an episode of Scooby-Doo, foreboding. But, they do some very cool ecological research and conservation work at the lighthouse, protecting the surrounding ecosystems.
