In agriculture, a pulper is a machine designed to remove pulp (I.e. the soft flesh from agricultural produce). For example, in coffee growing the ripe, red cherries are picked from the coffee bushes and prior to fermentation and later drying the soft pulp needs to be removed (otherwise a potentially uncontrollable fermentation/rot will occur). In the case of coffee the pulping is normally done in a pulper that is either hand-cranked or engine-driven; the beans are emptied into an elevated hopper and then dropped through a narrow slot within which they come into contact with a rotating spiked drum that removes the pulp or flesh. Again in the case of coffee, the sticky beans that result from this process then have to be washed, fermented, washed again and dried prior to further processing (milling to remove the parchment) and then roasting.

In the paper industry, a pulper is a machine that is used for crushing virgin pulp (slabs or sheets), wastepaper processing, machine broke, deinking and pulp purification. It disintegrates the fiber by the action of mechanical operation.[1]

Post-consumer waste is re-pulped, in one of the processes involved in recycling it.

Tissue paper Pulping Process

Tissue paper is soft, feathery, lightweight, highly absorbent, tear resistant, disposable and relatively strong paper products. The tissue paper name originates from the French word “tissue”, which meaning cloth. Because of the tissue paper is as soft as cloth. It has become an important part in our daily life. Uses of this type of paper are increasing rapidly in worldwide. Overall, a person who lives in a developing country uses some kilograms of tissue paper per year. The people of North American use highest amount of tissue paper; per person about 25 kg per year.

As there are two kinds of raw materials: wood pulp and waste paper, Leizhan engineers design and choose two types of pulping machines for customer, and then combine the pulp after pulping.

Wood Pulp Pulping Process: The commercial wood pulp is conveyed into <a href="http://www.leizhanchina.com/pulper/zdsd-series-d-type-hydrapulper/">D type hydrapulper</a> for pulping, and then use the pulp pump to convey it into double disc refiner for improving the beating degree and produce high quality fine pulp. After pulp refining, the pulp will be conveyed into <a href="http://www.leizhanchina.com/tissue-paper-making-line/">tissue paper machine</a> for paper making.

Waste Paper Pulping Process: Waste paper is conveyed into high consistency hydrapulper for separating waste paper. Then the pulp will be conveyed into high density cleaner for removing heavy impurities in paper pulp. Besides, the pulp will be conveyed into screening equipment fiber separator, vibrating screen, and pressure screen for pulp screening. Furthermore, the pulp will be conveyed into inclined screw thickner for pulp washing and thickening. Then the waste paper pulp will be conveyed into double disc refiner and combined with wood pulp for paper making.

Pulp mill

Pulp is the main source for <a href="http://www.leizhanchina.com/kraft-liner-paper-making-line/">paper making</a>. It is produce at pulp mill. After production paper pulp is supplied to paper mill for paper making.

Wood is the most widely used raw material for paper pulp. Without wood there are some other things are used for pulp making that are cotton, linen, bombax wool, jute hemp, sisal hemp, Manila hemp, straw, esparto, Pineapple leaf fiber, palm, coconut fiber, sugar cane, Bamboo etc. Also paper recycle machine made the waste paper reused, resources saved and environment protected.

Classification of pulp wood

Coniferous or Soft wood trees:  spruce, pine, fir (balsam), larch, tamarack, cypress, Douglas fir, hemlock etc.

Broad leaf or hard wood trees:  eucalyptus, aspen, maple, Poplar, Tulip, Basswood, birch etc.

There are three categories of paper that can be used as feedstocks for making recycled paper: mill broke, pre-consumer waste, and post-consumer waste.

Mill broke is paper trimmings and other paper scrap from the manufacture of paper, and is recycled internally in a <a href="http://www.leizhanchina.com/paper-machine/kraft-testliner-paper-machine/">paper mill</a>. Pre-consumer waste is material which left the paper mill but was discarded before it was ready for consumer use. Post-consumer waste is material discarded after consumer use, such as old corrugated containers (OCC), old magazines, and newspapers.

Paper suitable for recycling is called "scrap paper", often used to produce molded pulp packaging. The industrial process of removing printing ink from paperfibers of recycled paper to make deinked pulp is called deinking, an invention of the German jurist Justus Claproth.
