Limited computer access has been slowing my workflow, but at last, here’s my piece for the @hxhbigbang2020! 

My fic was Twice Told by @canalsobemoe (pressforward on ao3). It’s a fun fairy tale AU loaded with leopika, fae magic, and cameos by all my favorite hxh side characters plus also Hisoka. Check it out!

a quick update for anyone checking in and wondering that’s up oops

(if you don’t want to see posts related to the state of the world right now, just know the short version of this update is that my current writing schedule sporadic at best and i’m trying to sort it out but yeahhh)

i’m "staying safe” and such, it’s just i no longer have free time to myself during the day. as you’d expect, everyone is home, and i just can’t find a balance. i’m trying to change my writing habits and editing style to match the situation, but right now it’s impossible to sit down and get anything done without constant interruptions

in short, it’s kinda the same situation that causes me to go on hiatus a few weeks every winter and summer, except it’s been the past three months and who knows when it’s going to end

if you blacklist mentions the current state of the world because you want this site to be an escape, i feel you, but also, you don’t want to click this...

(i’m sorry i can’t think of all the possible tags at the moment--i’ve had a headache for four days that’s so bad it doesn't just stop at my head but makes my teeth hurt, too, so hey, maximum face pain at a bargain)

soooo, i’m still around. just kinda a stressed because the pandemic has been hitting hardest all the places in the world i have personal connections to, as well as very close to where i currently live now what the fuck

as i do, i’m binge writing to cope, but not i’m able to sit still long enough to edit anything, hence the even further extended delay of my current fic. i’m trying to get the next chapter out this week, though! 

as for the chapter after that one though...lmao it still has a big chunk in the middle where it’s almost all dialogue with gaps containing summaries of the action taking place in brackets, because all of my first drafts are basically scripts i dunno

It’s like viewing the full scope of your domain. Like that Lion King scene were they’re looking over the pridelands like “everything the sun touches” except there’s no elephant graveyard because i’m about positivity these days, and everything i see when i look at a fic is just bathed in light lmao 

that said, i’ve recently been into 9pt calibri, too (up from pt7 verdana!), except Word no longer works on my mac. the pages app doesn’t recognize calibri 97% of the time and keeps making me use “helvetica neue”. sooo, i’ve been trying to break myself out of the “i am a lowly, poor, recent graduate with no money” mindset long enough to actually put down money for a real word processor. however, my sometimes chaotic energy is too strong or whatever, and so in reality i’ve actually just been making a slow slide into straight up writing fics using the notes app on my phone….

i’d like to take a moment to thank @patxaran for revealing unto me the ideal page formatting for Making Words Happen that i’ve been using for the last three or four years; it’s led me to the unfortunate conclusion that the only thing left not making the Words Happen is, in fact, me, but it’s a really nice layout all the same

is this landscape + as close to no margins as your heart can handle + the absolute tiniest font you’re physically capable of reading on a screen?
