Das my pal :)
I spend a lot of time looking out for great science fiction writing to inspire my art and writing. Probably like most sci-fi heads, I draw inspiration from well known authors like William Gibson, Arthur C. Clarke, Frank Herbert, Asimov, etc. However, there are generations of extremely talented authors keeping the genre alive. Olivia Black is certainly one of them in my opinion and I am confident you will feel the same.
This year I have read some sci-fi stories where there will be a big dump of information, or a bunch of science jargon that requires a physics degree to understand. However, Olivia has a knack for letting the information develop seamlessly through character interaction and a narrative point of view. It is true that science jargon is necessary and common for a good space opera, and yet, I feel that too much detail can weigh down any exposition and disrupt the flow.
Black is currently writing for a website called 365Tomorrows.com and working on a cyberpunk style detective story. A part of her inspiration is drawn from great authors like William Gibson, Lauren Beukes, Warren Ellis and Zoe Whittall. A reader familiar with these authors could pick up their influence within her stories, but that does not diminish the unique quality of her writing. (1)
Olivia’s ideas would be great concepts for a graphic novel or an episode of “Love, Death and Robots.” Especially for two of my favorites called “Revision” and “The Love of a Sister.” If she were to explore such opportunities the end product would be exciting to see.
Besides writing science fiction, Olivia dabbles in a bit of non-fiction writing. Black has a spot on medium.com where she thoughtfully writes about topics pertaining to technology, gaming, and film. All links of where she can be found are listed below. Long live the Lizard Queen!

I mentioned a dream where I was continuously walking down very narrow pink concrete stares with a light at every level. Faintly in the distance I could hear something following me and no matter how fast I ran, the sound just kept getting closer.
About two years ago I drew a picture of a yellow viscous dripping entity. I just called it mustard face cuz that’s what it looked like. So I assumed my dream involved an old creation I made for some reason.
