;; You know what I really want right now? Fight threads. I want to see someone actually fight some of my muses. I want conflict.

Is Sumu pushing his luck with his snarky attitude? Go ahead and fight him!

Does your muse need to defend their territory from a wandering Mzungu? Okay, go ahead and attack him!

Did Kweli take his white lies too far and now you’re offended? Okay, you can yell at him and get mad at him!

Is Mkali being too stubborn and invading your personal space too much? Feel free to smack him!

Basically, what I’m trying to say is, don’t ever feel like you need to hold your muse back with me. I want conflict, I want fights, and I know that sometimes my muses need to be smacked around a bit and put in their place. It’s okay to be that muse that does in fact do just that! If it’s in character for your muse, then by all means, absolutely go for it! Especially if it’s just how the thread happens to flow, go with it! I love fight threads just as much as I love negotiations, or playful banter, or cute fluff threads! I love it all!

And right now, I am really craving some good conflict.

Rumors had been passing all across the Pridelands, from one animal to the next, of all shapes and sizes. Rumors of the black mamba known as Kifo, and that he was truly a threat to be feared. It was funny, almost.. Entertaining for the subject of such rumors to hear them himself. And he did hear them. But.. Well, when had he actually done anything to threaten anyone? His games were all in good fun, right?

“Have you heard? What everyone’s saying about him?” Ooh, here were some gossipers now. Antelope, and kudu.

“About the mamba, you mean? Course I’ve heard.” The antelope shook her head, briefly glancing about in case the mamba was near enough he might hear them. He was, of course, but.. Well. He wasn’t where he’d directly be seen unless he moved. Nestled in the branches, draping himself lazily about.

“I heard he killed someone! Just yesterday! He’s dangerous!” Killed someone yesterday? No. No, he hadn’t done that. Teased, maybe. Playfully joked about biting them, sure. But he hadn’t actually killed anyone.

“Everyone says he’s just a child though. That he plays games?”

“He’s not a child. Or at least, not a baby.” Ooh. Well, that one was true at least. He was, by all technicalities, a teenager. “Careful, though. We shouldn’t talk too much. We may be next if we’re not wary.” Okay, now.. He couldn’t resist. It was just such a perfect opportunity! Lowering himself down, he dangled just next to the kudu’s head, chuckling a bit.

“Talking about me, are we?” And, that did it. The gossiping pair immediately flew into a panic, taking off at top speed to get away from him, as Kifo just chuckled to himself. Oh, that was priceless!!

Is anybody ok with my muse mentioning your muse in a thread they have with somebody else?

YESSSSSSSSSSSS.

This is a pretty big issue for me actually.

And not just because it’s really amazing to see what other muses say, think and feel about your muse when they’re not around but because I WANT SOME CONTINUITY. I’m trying to create a continuity for my character where everything that isn’t an AU has feelings and actions making sense depending on a timeline and people they know and love. Actions have consequences. Relationships and events change people. Roleplay without that is… well, repetitive… and not very fulfilling to me.

One bright yellow eye surfaced above the river between the Pridelands and the Outlands. The Guardian watched as the strange male lion crossed the log that formed a bridge across the water. Not the King, and therefore a target.

The crocodiles had been placed in the river between the two territories as a form of border patrol for King Simba after the most recent scare with the Outsiders. They had been instructed to deter any strange lions away from the Pridelands, though killing them was unnecessary. Recently this had landed them in trouble after “mistakenly” attacking the King’s daughter, so they were eager to prove themselves again.

Makuu was alone, which was both a blessing and a curse. On one foot he wouldn’t have the backup of a float to help take down this rogue, and on the other he wouldn’t have to share lunch.

Waiting for his moment, the crocodile suddenly lunged out of the water towards the log, aiming his jaws for the lion’s leg. If not to land a bite, then at least to throw him off balance and send him into the water.

Any time he crossed the river, Mzungu was smart enough to be wary. He knew about the crocodiles, knew of the threat they posed to him, and he knew.. Never let your guard down. Every step he took across the log was deliberate, every move planned, and his ears twitched this way and that as he listened for even the slightest bit of movement in the water.

There! He almost moved a second too late, the crocodile's teeth just barely grazing against his leg as Mzungu stepped aside, and turned back to swipe a large paw back at Makuu, teeth bared. He didn't want to fight if he could avoid it, but if he could at least stun the croc for just a moment, he'd have a way out. Hopefully.. He wasn't even sure of his aim in the flurry of chaos that had followed the crocodile's initial attack, but if he could strike a blow..

No.. He hadn't felt his paw connect at all with Makuu's scaly hide, so he tried again, moving backward now along the log. Still toward the Pridelands, but now he had to keep an eye on the crocodile, an eye on the threat. And he swung his paw again, with all intent of at least stunning Makuu to escape with his life.
