hot take: the FIA absolutely should not make the exception for kimi antonelli to be allowed to race before he turns 18.

the age limit in formula 1 being 18 is a recent-ish rule change that I genuinely, full-heartedly agree with and if we go around making exceptions to get a literal child into a seat just a couple of months before he would be 18, then the rule is redundant. his future in F1 isn't threatened by having to wait until august. williams are a mess but putting kimi in won't fix it. it would be idiotic to throw him into an F1 seat when he hasn't even raced half of his first F2 season yet.

talent takes you far but experience and practice take you further. we need to stop this obsession with hyper-young drivers or we're going to ruin them. max verstappen was the exception not the rule.

If Williams does that shit, I will do nothing but hope for their downfall. Especially James Vowles. Alex has zero points, crashed a car, and then got the good one and still didn't get points. But Logan, who hasn't been doing completely terrible and who has been driving a car that's haphazardly fixed, is on the chopping block before the season is even halfway?

Also my irriatation doesn't extend to Kimi. But I can't confidently say that him also being called up early to drive a car that doesn't have a single point yet will be good for his career, if Williams current behavior is anything to go by.

There’s been an update to the F1 Sporting Regulations around false starts.

They are no longer solely judged by the transponders in the floor and the car.

So now if a car is deemed to move after the four second light is illuminated and before the start signal (all lights out) then they have had a ‘false start’ (jump start)
