Mike never really talked about his life before Deluxe fell; it was still something he was actively healing from. The first time the kids were ever exposed to anything Deluxe related was on a seemingly normal day at the park, when a man who still believed in the power of Kane's vision used his soapbox to try and get supporters. It wasn't uncommon for people to miss the way things were, but seeing it in person had Mike shaken. Picking up his daughter, their day out ended early as they made their way back home.
It couldn't leave his mind. It happened right in front of him. It was becoming more of an issue, and he knew that he and his family would be the first targets if Deluxe made a return.
"If something happens, you have to promise me you'll leave with the kids."
This is not the first time they have had this conversation, but this was the first it felt like an actual possibility. Tex may seem naive, or even dumb, but he would never let anything happen to his loved ones.
"NOTHING is going to happen, and I will not let you play savior this time. We're staying together."
Mike got no sleep that night.

one last batch of stenny family doodles! (FOR NOW)
was thinking about Ken’s curse and how it would affect him not only as an adult but also as a father/husband. I’d imagine he’d become a bit more careful/cautious about situations he might put himself in that could end up deadly, but ofc bc a curse is a curse, it would still manifest in other ways. hospital stays would become pretty common in the McCormick-Marsh household. TRULY no one minds, but he’d still be pretty guilty about it.

btw with art when people say 'youve got to do it scared' 'youve got to draw bad' 'youre not gonna know how to do it until you do it' it sounds like bullshit but its true. 90% of art is just getting over the fear that it's not going to be good enough to deserve to be made in the first place. but you're here. you're alive and, with no need to justify that, you're going to make art. it's just part of being alive. you'll spend so long worrying you aren't doing it good enough that you'll look back and realized you didn't live a single day of it.

on this segment of Nathy Remembers OCs After Revisiting An Old Fandom, stenny was always my fav ship out of South Park, esp when I was IN DEEP back in middle school LOL like will they make each better or WORSE? 🤭🤭🤭
is it wishful thinking that these two trash fires could ever settle down? Maybe! But I like to think at some point, they’d help each other clean up and have a semi calm life together (cause when you’re born in crazy, it never fully goes away ❤️).
I guess little tidbit time about the kids? I always wanted the son to stand out (guess he was the MC?) so I made him preppy! Like he’s just… normal. He has a fully functional brain and rational thinking LOL. Josephine was like an older cousin character that totally needs rebuilding for her family and her look before I can reintroduce her, but that’s the context for the older girl in the old art. I LOVE THE NAME DANI FOR THE LITTLE ONE but KURTIS 😭😭😭😭😭 I CANNOT TAKE SERIOUSLY BC I JUST THINK ABOUT KURTIS CONNOR HAHAHA
I’m going to do this more often I think! Post old art and revisit some pieces and characters I really love and miss. That is technically the thesis of this blog: giving little me the chance to share her art bc she was too scared to, and I LOVE my old art. She was eating ngl.
