Everything had become harder. Her mind had been trying to convince her that things would get better. That surviving on the bare minimum of blood would all work out, and nothing would have to change. Olivia knew she was being delusional. There just wasn’t a life she could imagine not being in the city, not that she ever imagined she’d be a vampire living in it. Olivia closed the door behind her, finding August quickly in the small apartment. “Hey,” she mumbled, looking solemn.

“It just sucks cause I want to do something, but I know my face is too well-known to be able to do something publicly anymore.”

“You’ve always been at the forefront of all of this. There’s no one that you have influence over to help you?”

“Nick? He’s…well he’s been pretty good to me. Or he was, until he got up and left again.” Noah smiled back at Olivia, reflecting her expression and giving her a nod. “Thanks. Your confidence in me is encouraging.” He replied back truthfully. “I guess you’re right, but it’s just hard, you know. Finding a balance in the first place.”

“He tends to do that. You get used to it. He usually comes back.” It made Olivia happy that she could help him in some way. She wouldn’t have been anywhere without Antonia, and Liv wanted Noah to feel like he had some some one in his corner. “You’ll find it. This whole process is weird to say the least, but it’ll happen. And if you need someone to vent too about the struggles I’m here for you.”

kadenkingsman:

“Yeah I don’t know if it’d be something that he was necessarily interested in.”

“Honestly, I’ve never even talked to him about it. I could ask and see where his head’s at with all of this. But it’d be a big task to take on.”

joshuarhodes:

It would be a terrible thing that I reckon would scar people, so I agree with you there.

People cannot be scarred by their own bed. Beds are a sacred place.

‘I mean, I doubt they know about August, but I also doubt he’d be the best choice.”

“He would be one of the least likely to be known. I also would have a lot of grooming to do if he was going to lead anything.”

Unfortunately, for the sake of humour, it didn’t.

I’m a little sad I don’t get to laugh about it, but who really wants to wake up to falling with their bed? No one. No one wants that.

I, actually, have never liked them. My mom had one when I was little and it tore up my bed frame. Clawed it… It broke on me.

Oh no! Please tell me it didn’t fall apart when you were sleeping.

“And someone that they don’t know is supernatural already too, which takes quite a few of us out of the mix.”

“That seems like it takes out everyone I know.”

“Liv, when push comes to shove, you’re gonna have to get blood somehow, right?”

“I know that. And I’m not comfortable having someone following us around to be a human blood bag.”

“And also of course exactly why we can’t let them.”

“Exactly, but the only person from the Council I’ve seen is Antonia. And I know she could, but she can’t do it by herself. Nor should she since I’m sure she’s under a microscope. So we need someone who’s going to lead the charge despite all of this.”

Thank you for that. Cats, however, go right for it.

Do cats just like...know? Even if you’re in human form.

“Who was your maker? That sounds awful, but yeah. I understand that. While the circumstances weren’t the best, I am actually starting to manage everything again and get used to all this.” He smiled back at her, happy to have someone to confide in. Everyone else seemed to already have that grasp on control, and even while Olivia did too, she also had that more realistic factor of being new, which was nice and relatable. “I guess I don’t want to face the truth of actually being a monster now, because I still want to keep that human part of me alive too.”

“Nicholas Johnson. But after saving me from a fire he started, Antonia took me in. So really I contribute most of my normalness to her.” Olivia smiled brightly, “That’s great! Getting back into a routine is the hardest part, but I know you’re going to do amazing.” She nodded, completely understanding where he was coming from. Having to come to the realization that a part of you was in fact a monster was harder than she had realized. “I think as long as you want to keep it, then you’ll always have it. You can keep something for as long as you believe in it.”
