He held her burying his head in her neck and trying to forget. The tears were still falling but he couldn't feel them anymore. "No, Kate, no. Don't be sorry. Everything's fine," He said burying his hand in her hair and scrunching his eyes closed tight. Maybe if they lay here long enough everything would just go away.
He stroked her hair softly and it gave him some comfort. "I didn't plan on going to today," He murmured. The yard could do without him for a day. After all they managed without Greg for a month. "Can we sleep?" He asked. He hadn't slept in a bed in ages, and this morning had taken everything out of him. They could talk when they woke up.

He nodded pitifully as she instructed him. Perhaps that's what he needed right now. To just be told what to do. It was certainly easier that way. He was awfully tired, and hot chocolate sounded nice. He looked around the room and saw Chloe's cup and that only brought on a fresh wave of emotion. He brought his hands up to his face and let his head fall back. How could he of let this happen.
Then Kate running to the kitchen and he looked up, confused. He heard crying and he was up instantly, running into the kitchen behind her. He paused for a second when he saw her on the floor, but he was soon with her, holding her once again. They're just cookies," He said, crying once again. And somewhere he knew that they weren't and that they meant a lot more. But they could pretend for a little while that they were just cookies, and they were just crying and that the tears were meaningless and unwarranted and it was all just a big misunderstanding.
He stood up with her after a minute and took her hand. "Come on," He said softly, wiping some of her tears away and then walking through to his bedroom. He threw back the covers and they both got in. They both knew that nothing would happen, that this was for comfort and friendship and nothing more, and it was nice to have that, it gave him a little bit of hope.

He shook his head desperately when she implied he didn't want her here. He'd grown so accustomed to her being here, and he loved it so much, he didn't even mind sleeping on the sofa. But now that was all threatened. "Never," He cried holding her a little tighter.
He drew in some sharp breaths when she told him to get up, trying to stop crying. He stood up and wiped his eyes, cursing himself for being so weak, but the tears kept coming, only silently this time.
He sat back down on the sofa and stared off into nothing. "What do I do Kate?" He whimpered. He felt to helpless.

He couldn't do this. He'd felt incomplete for so long and never even realized, never known what he was missing, and now it felt like a huge hole, and he still didn't have a clue what would fill it. And he was scared, so scared as too what would happen. He just wanted everything to stop, and everything to be good, but it couldn't. He burst into tears as she kissed his palm and keeled over, holding his head to their hands and sobbing. He didn't know what to do, or what would happened and it frightened him because he didn't know how to make it better.
He felt pathetic. He shouldn't be crying like a 2 year old, he should be facing this like an adult, but it was so hard. He fell to his knees infront of Kate and took her in his arms, holding on to her for dear life and dampening her shoulder with tears. He didn't deserve her, she should hate him, and she should have left him. "Don't leave please," He broke through the tears. He didn't think he'd be able to stand it if she left him for good.

He was too lost in his own thoughts to realize that Kate had left the bathroom. Everything spinning round his head, nothing sticking or keeping still long enough for him to actually focus. What would he do? What could he do? He'd ruined everything.
Then he felt Kate kneel before him and his far away eyes focused on her. Then he looked down at their hands as she took his in hers. He'd expected anger, and shouting and swearing. Not this. It was more disappointment and distress. He hated that he'd done this too her, when everything was so great, and he hated that it was all his fault.
He drew in a short breath to answer, not able to take a long one in fear that his lungs would burst and he'd end up sobbing. "About a month ago," e whispered, his voice shaking just a bit. He looked up at her suddenly, fear and apology set deep into his eyes. "I'm sorry Kate, I'm so sorry" He said almost pleadingly, holding her hands tighter.
Not a house, but a home || Kate & Oliver
Kate didn’t know what to think anymore. She knew what to do though – to not cry, even though her stomach clenched and her cheeks burned. An hour ago, her life was better than ever. A job, friends, someone she could endlessly trust, always there for her. Not a house, but a home. Nightmares occurring less often with every week. And now? Apparently she couldn’t really trust him after all and it hurt. Not long ago she thought they could be a family. Maybe a fake one, maybe dysfunctional, but a family. Now he will have a family with that girl, a… a killer. Of Moriarty. Did he lose all of his mind? She would never expect him to forget himself in this way, with a woman like this. Not Oliver. Not her sweet friend who only wanted the best for everyone. But apparently he was like all other men. She shook her head and left the bathroom. Chloe already went away. Kate could only hope she would be away forever, but it was surely not the case.
Entering the room, she saw Oliver pacing around, just before he sat down on the sofa, looking very confused and lost. Kate wanted to yell at him, to punch him, to punish him for the stupidity he did, but it would be pointless. Not to mention just a little bit crazy. So she silently approached him, kneeled before him and took his hands into hers. “When?” She whispered, looking at their fingernails.  She hoped he wouldn’t notice how distressed she was

I love it!
Tumblr media
Well most of the time. It has it's moments, but over all I think it's possibly the best job in the history of ever. Except for an oompa loompa... or ice-cream man, or, well there probably are better jobs but I do love it.

He swallowed and nodded awkwardly. "I'm still sorry though. I should have been there." He wouldn't let it happen again. He looked around the room, trying to find something else to talk about. There were things he wanted to ask of course, but he didn't know if it was the right moment.
He scratched the back of his head and looked up at her. "Chloe, I-I need to know. Last month when you wouldn't return any of my calls and you just disappeared... why?" He asked simply. He'd tried to come up with explanations in his own head, but he needed to hear it from her.

She went toward the kitchen and put the water to boil. She was very glad to see him again. Somehow, he brightened her day, that had been an horrible mess. Meeting Moriarty for the first time since he came back had been a traumatizing experience. But she wasn’t going to talk about that with him. He was a detective, after all. She didn’t think she could tell him that.
She came back to the living room. “It’s okay, really. Kate was pretty nice, actually, and I guess I just needed a feminine presence.” Actually, she’d have largely preferred he had come in. She didn’t know Kate very much, and the last time she had seen her, she had been shot. It had been pretty awkward, to see her again, especially in these conditions.

He knew she wasn't telling the truth but he didn't push it. He didn't want to come on too strong. He'd do whatever she wanted him to do and not a thing more. Unless it was for her own good of course. "yes, that would be lovely," He said. He'd thought about offering to do it himself or declining, but they both seemed a bit rude and he knew that she probably would like him waiting on hand and foot. He was only going to hep if she needed it and he was quite sure she'd prefer to make the tea herself.
Perhaps he was over thinking this all.
He put his hands in his pockets just for something to do and looked around. "I'm sorry about the other day. I guess i was just a little shocked and then Kate stepped in and I didn't really know what to do, but I'll be better next time, I promise," He said, assuming there was going to be a next time.
Approaching Conclusions || Oliver & Chloe
She smiled as he told her it was going to be ok. That was all she needed to hear. She held on to his words, because she was so unsure of them. Was everything really going to be okay? Probably not. Because she was in the most fucked up situation she had ever been in all of her life, and she was about sure nothing was going to be okay, not now, not ever again.
“I’m… I’m good.” she replied. “Really, I’m doing fine.” She forced a smile on her face. Because she wasn’t doing fine, really not. She had a meeting with fucking Moriarty this morning! And he wanted her to kill someone, again. Like he hadn’t asked enough of her already. “Do you want tea?” she asked quickly, to change the subject.

He kissed the top of her head in a comforting gesture, knowing she'd need it. She looked wrecked with worry, and stress and exhaustion. Yet despite it all she still managed to stay lovely. Although he knew she'd protest if he told her so. "It'll all be okay you know," He said reassuringly, hoping there was truth to his words.
He smiled at her comment. At least she was happy to see him, which was something. He followed her into the flat and he supposed he would have noticed it was a bit messy, if he'd had eyes for anything but her, but he didn't. He watched her, with a slight smile. Just seeing her made him a little more hopeful. "How are you?" He asked in a way that suggested he wanted an answer more than just 'fine' or 'okay'. He needed to know how she was really doing. How else was he going to start helping her.
Approaching Conclusions || Oliver & Chloe
She’d have stayed a thousand years there, hugging him, just feeling him near her, comforting, understanding. Because she needed it, someone to help her sort everything out, help her find what was right and what was wrong, and she needed him to do it, more than anything. She needed him to hold her and tell her everything was going to be fine.
But nothing was going to be fine. She was about to kill someone again. But she wouldn’t tell him. Oh no! She couldn’t tell him. He’d be disgusted and leave. She couldn’t have him leave. Not right now. Not when she needed him the most by her side. He couldn’t know.
“Never have I ever felt better to see anyone knock unexpectedly at my door” she replied, a faint smile on her face. She stepped away from him, and waited for him to enter the flat. It really was good to see him. She looked back at her flat, regretting not doing any cleaning earlier.

He was surprised when she hugged him, but a good kind of surprised. He relaxed quickly into it and smiled, holding her tight. He thought that moments like this would make up for everything else. For the fact that they'd only seen each other a handful of times, and that she worked for Moriarty, an that he hadn't seen her for a month and that she was now pregnant with a child that may or may not be his. This made up for it all. This simple gesture that made him smile so much.
"Never have I ever been so completely captivated by someone, as I am with you," He said honestly. He still wasn't really sure where he stood with her, or how this was all going to work out but it would be okay. He was sure of it. How could it not be, holding her like this, right now. Everything had to be fine.
Approaching Conclusions || Oliver & Chloe
She turned around, expecting him to follow her inside, but instead he grabbbed her wrist and made her turn to face him. He looked sad. Or maybe he was just feeling very uncomfortable. But anyway, there was this expression of pain floating on his face and Chloe hated it. She just wanted him to smile again. Like he had smiled on their first meeting. That sweet, innocent smile that had made her heart melt. Seing him now broke her heart. She definitely hated seeing him unhappy.
But he was saying he didn’t care. That he’d take care of her. What could she reply? Nothing, really. So instead she just stepped towards him and passed her arms around him, hugging him tight. She rested her head on his shoulder, taking his smell in again. Not talking, not doing anything. Just hugging him there, in the doorway of her flat.

As soon as she opened the door he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out and then she was inviting him in but she didn't seem very happy about it. "Wait," he caught her wrist as she turned back inside the flat. "Chloe," he didn't know what to say. He really didn't know what to say. He could ramble on for hours if he was given the chance, yet in the time he needed his words most he had none. "I don't care." He said and swallowed. Okay he should probably elaborate. "I don't care if it's not mine, because if you want me to, I'll care for it, and for you regardless. And if you decide the err, alternative, then that's okay too. I don't care," He repeated.
He felt a little bit better now. Now that he'd finally gotten some of that off his chest. She didn't have to invite him in if she didn't want to. he'd leave now and never see her again if she asked it of him. But god he hoped she didn't. He just wanted her to know, and now she did. "I sorry. I should have called first it's just I didn't want you to tell me not to come and I didn't want to tell you over the phone and oh! My words are back, wait no, I'm sorry..." He said trailing off ashamed of his rambling once again.
Approaching Conclusions || Oliver & Chloe
Chloe was enjoying a nice evening, alone in her flat. Her meeting with Moriarty during the day had shook her and she decided to just stay at home and watch a few episodes of her favourite soap before falling asleep on the couch. She was making tea when she heard a knock on the door.
She wondered who it could be, since she wasn’t expecting anyone (well…) and she didn’t have that much friends who just randomly came knocking at her door. She walked towards the door and opened it, only to find Oliver. “Oh! Hi… Um, come in. I’m making tea.” she said. What was he doing here?

Approaching Conclusions || Oliver & Chloe
It had been a few days since the incident at his flat with Chloe. He'd thought it best to let things cool down afterwards, but again he had the problem of not knowing how long too leave it. Just like how he'd waited for the right time to call her after getting her number on their first meeting.
However it had been two days, and he didn't want to put it off any longer. He really wanted to see her, and reassure her he was still there. So as he approached her flat he ran through all the things he wanted to say to her in his head. The problem was he didn't exactly know what he wanted to say. It was all a big jumbled mess up there at the moment.
He took of a glove as he got to her door and knocked out a little pattern, sounding much more cheery than he was. He hoped she was at least a little glad to see him.

Oliver grinned, knowing he was fast on the road to forgiveness. He couldn't stand people being angry at him. "Right, coffee! I'll get right on it!" He exclaimed shooting off to the kitchen. He put the kettle on and gathered the things quickly.
"Did you know," He shouted through to the other room. "That Americans consume 450 million cups of coffee per day!" he grinned popping his head round the door to see Spencer's reaction. "Not each of course, that would be ridiculous," He furrowed his brow thoughtfully. "I wonder if it's even possible,"
He quickly snapped out of his thoughts when the kettle boiled. He made Spencer's coffee and a tea for himself and went back into the living room.
Not too bright || Oliver & Spencer
Spencer sighted. God, the things Oliver made him do. Of course next time he’d have something to ask to him, he’d do those puppy eyes he does and Spencer would feel so bad for letting him do everything on his own and help him once more, ending up in getting hurt, like it had just happened. Oliver was such a public danger to those around him.
“Yeah, Felix should fix it. He broke it after all.” he said. “And I won’t say no to tea. Altough I’d prefer some coffee, I didn’t actually slept last night. Can you make some? It’d be nice”
