She leaned forward and dropped her voice to a buzzing whisper. “Don’t look now, but I think there’s an astral tabby hunting us.” “That’s my cat,” said Mokou. She stepped past the hoversled and squatted down, facing the tabby. “Cat, don’t.” Behind Mokou, Clactobelle fluttered her wings nervously. “Does your cat have a name?” “Been working on it,” said Mokou. She stuck out her hand with a finger outstretched towards the cat. “Agate wanted to give her some kind of nerd name.” “You wished to name the cat after an article of clothing,” Agate scoffed. “Are you taking suggestions?” asked Clactobelle. “What about: Grillitabella!” “Grillitabella?” asked Mokou, glancing back at the moth. “Very auspicious name!” Clactobelle nodded. Mokou looked back. The tabby’s eyes gleamed from the darkness, focused not on Mokou but on the delectable moth. “What do you think, cat? Grillitabella?” The cat chittered softly, still focused on prospective prey. “Wheatgrass?” Mokou offered. The cat flicked her tail. “Tabi?” asked Mokou. She waggled her outstretched finger encouragingly. “Mrrow?” the cat chirped. Her gleaming eyes flicked to Mokou and she crept towards her. “Tabi,” said Mokou. She grinned. “Looks like we got a winner.” “Oh, how wonderful!” said Clactobelle. Agate huffed to herself in a muttered tone. “Footwear. Asinine.”
