Is Wrestling Cool

Is wrestling cool? It is cool for kids and teenagers. I watched American wrestling when I was studying in junior high school. As a 14 years old kid I thought that the wrestlers in the ring were very cool, they were so strong and confident, they could easily cheer the audiences up, and did want they want do in the ring, they were free. Honestly, when I was a kid, I wanted to stand in the ring just like what they did somedays. Then, when I got older, I found that everything happened on the ring were not real, they were fake. The wrestling shows just like other TV shows, they have scripts. The wrestlers are not free like I thought them should be, they are actors, what they are thinking and doing in the ring is someone else’s idea. Out of the ring, the wrestler just like everyone else, they have no hate, anger, they have friends, family and they need money. It is the fact that the wrestling business is not as good as the past. People actually can wrestle anywhere they want, the moves are not so difficult to learn, even though the shows always warn people do not copy. People who are still watching the wrestling shows are kids and teenagers. For kid, they think the wrestlers are their hero just like what I thought when I was a kid. For the teenagers, they just want to have fun and relax, maybe fake violence is a good way to let them feel better. For the wrestlers in the ring, I think they are so poor. They are acting like somebody’s hero, but in fact they are just following the story. They need to be trained for a long time, then I also will get terrible hurts, finally wresting will also make their lifetime shorter. In fact, they maybe are the heroes for the kids, but the heroes are not real, they just live in kid’s dream and imagination. For real wrestlers, their body health and contract can easily take away their perfect image in people’s mind.

Girl in Video

I want to talk about something very weird about the girl who showed in the video in class. (4/20/2018) First, that girl was very brave, she tried something that most girl in her age do not want to try. In the video, she was taking a interview for model. When she talked with the interviewer, she said she is originally 13 years old. I actually do not know what is “ originally 13 years old” mean, but I am very sure that the girl was very young. The reaction of the girl of the interview actually scared me. How can a young girl talked like that? Her voice sound like an adult, but was not as mature as an adult, she was still a lot bit naive. She was trying to represent as the age which elder then her real age, but she still cannot control it. It was not very hard to see how fake her smile was. At the end of the interview, the girl said “ Thank you” very a very cold voice, that voice sound very disappointed, tired and angry for me. That voice will make me think that the “ Thank you” moment was the real feeling and face of the girl, which full of impatient and some negative energy. We also can see she was not really happy to took the interview. There are something was pushing her. It could money or desire of fame, and also could be rebellion. Rebellion is a part of cool, but I think rebellion cannot represent the whole face of cool. For example, the girl in the video did cool for me, she made me feel scary and disgusting. I felt she was scary because I can never imagine a 13 years old girl has multiple faces in front of the camera, and those multiple faces showed the different personality and temper of the girl. Even though the young girl cannot control her reaction in front of the camera, I need to admit that the girl knew how to act, just like the employee act to their boss which is fake and snaky. How can a young girl like her learn how to acting? I think media played an important role during the growing of  children. Children can watch everything when their parents did not set next to them, they had less experience, and had no judgment for the information they were watching in the TV. Sometimes, they even didn’t know what were they watching then just copied what they saw. Was that very good for a child? Was that a necessary step that the child have to learn from their private rebellion? The child might learn something new, but he or she could not judge the new things,  they were actually trying to take the power they cannot control. The result of the precocity is the girl in the video, she makes people feel that she might beyond the kids as the same age, but can never reach the height of her “cool.” She still need to learn a lot.

Balance between tradition and anti-tradition

1960 was an age of teenagers. It was also an age of a war between a group of traditional people and a group of anti-traditional people. We support that traditional people were the rulers and controllers who make everything to keep this world, and the anti-traditional people were the rebels who didn’t feel good with this world. Why they were arguing? I think because the rulers and dominators wanted to keep everything unchanging which they could easier control. However nothing is perfect. Rebels found something which is good for commons and bad for the controllers , so they decided to fight for their own rights. If we want to quest which group people were right, it depend on different people. As controllers, anti-traditional movement is a trouble which can easily destroyed most of plan they had already made, they will lose money and power. For the common people, a change can bring them a better life which is not bad. It is not hard to say that rebels exist in every age. Someone always feel uncertain with their life and want to make some changes no matter it is necessary or not. On April 4th, Chinese government made a law which forbid all informations which include violence, obscenity and homosexuality. This act made a huge influence for the Chinese public, especially for the Chinese students who are studying abroad. Chinese students who are studying abroad saw a lot homosexual facts every days, they do not think it is necessary to ban in China. In this situation, Chinese government are the traditional group, and Chinese teenagers are the anti-traditional group. For me, I will show my respect to homosexuality, and I think they should have their right to live every where on earth. At first, I thought that my government might lost their mind, but it is reasonable, because China is a country which is very serious for traditional culture, and in our traditional culture, there is no place for homosexuality. However, people are developing, when we choose to see and accept, the meaning of traditional idea will be less important, and our desire for new things will never be satisfy. Then, I looked some details of the act and I find that there the government actually want to ban the information of homosexuality which involve obscenity, because in Chinese media, the homosexuality always represented as an obscenity way to the public, and it have already made some part of the public feel uncomfortable. Therefore, Chinese ( especially for the teenagers) have misunderstanding to homosexuality. In the public eyes, homosexuality is not a simple way to love but something dirty. For Chinese government, they should improve their writing to let the public know the act more efferent and clear. For the rebel, the teenage who said the act is not fair for homosexuality, they should re-think the homosexuality in China is really the original homosexuality idea. If the homosexuality idea was screwed by someone, and it became dirty, I think the government, the controller is not doing something bad. In fact, most of rebel are very fanatical, in some way, they are the “wild sheep”, unlike sheep, they have their own idea, but those idea was gave by their mind leader, and they just represent the idea as an enthusiastic way.

Fairness for MLK

MLK is a great man. For MLK‘s belief, MLK was born in a priest‘s family, he believed in god and always. However he was not a sheep who believe in god mindless.  He got a doctor degree in theology when he was 26, which can prove that he want to study his belief in science. He knew that god will not save him when he will die, but him still believed in god. We talked about “ the God is dead” in the class, and I knew the god is just a believe. King had his believe, but I think god is just something he needed to vend to, because in real world, no one was leading him but he always needed to lead other blacks. When he was giving his speeches，he always used god, but it more sound like fate for me. King made a picture for blacks that the victory is there, and if they try hard they will get the victory.  We can find that MLK had no fear before he dead, when he gives his speech on the day before he dead, he highlighted that he was not afraid of everything. However, fate did not save MLK, his god did not save his life. MLK asked for the fairness to the black people.  He was always talking about fairness and unfairness. It is true that the right of black was not fair enough in 1968, or before 1968, even after 1968. However people will never feel satisfy, they want more. When MLK asked some benefits for the black and they want to more. For human greed, there is no fairness, life still very hard. There is also no fairness to MLK’s death. He did not deserve to be murdered, even though assassination was very popular in 19th century., but some people thought assassinate some extremists will end something, and they might care or not care the wave they will made. MLK’s ideas were accepted by the world view, so he got Nobel Peace Price. Although he was accepted by most people, a single bullet from one crazy individual can talk his life very easily. The public think that James Earl Ray was the murder who killed MLK. Thinking about that, MLK was a great kind doctor who asked for over millions people’s justice and right, and this great man was killed by a escaped convict who spent over half of his life in the jail, how unfair enough for MLK. MLK and JER, their life are totally different, and should never be crossed to each other. However the fate is a joke for everyone. JER kept denying the fact he killed MLK before dead. The public, the media also think MLK’s death was a conspiracy of government. For now, some one may know the fact of MLK’s death, but for most people, MLK’s death is still a mystery. He might paid all of him to fight for other’s right, but I am  still wondering was MLK really deserved his fate

Rethink the Past

Most of people do not have the chance to talk with dead people face to face after they dead long time ago , but I had. Mao Tse-Tung’s body still lying in a coffin at the center of Tiananmen Square, and I saw him last year. Unlike most Chinese who think Mao is great and perfect, I do not like Mao, because he “ killed” my grandfather. I want to make a three person conversation between Mao, my grandfather and me. The one is everyone know, the another one is just knew by my family. It is a interesting story of my grandfather and me. Last year, I knew that my grandfather now is not my consanguineous grandfather. My consanguineous grandfather actually dead when my father was six. In fact, I did not feel any shocked with that, because my grandfather in law never care my study and career. However, this fact exactly gave me too many information that I need to spend a long time to think. I lost my identity, and I have 20 years misunderstanding with my family history.  This fact was told to me by my mother, and she said it should be told to me by my father, but my father cannot accept my grandfather’s death even though 50 years had passed. I only know a little about my grandfather right now.  My grandfather was a doctor, who dead very young because of illness. He devoted all himself to saving lives as many as he can, but he finally could not save his own.  My grandfather could have a chance to heal his illness, but he still worked without rest. He also could have a chance to stay with my father, so now my father will have no damage with his childhood. I think my grandfather will use a quote from Irish philosopher Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” If my grandfather do nothing for his patients, then he will think he is the killer, so he never stop saving lives. He did that because his country asked him to do, his country use glory scarification as a excuse to deceive the people who have ability to overdraw themselves then make more  benefit for the country, a simple political tricks destroyed my grandfather’s whole life. The idea of “ scarify for country” was given by Mao Tse-Tung to my grandfather.  His country ( Mao’s idea ) told him he need to scarify then he can become a hero who will remembered by people, but know he nearly be forgot by his descendant, that is very funny. He even felt very glorious when he dead, because he have saved numbers of lives. If I have a chance to talk with my grandfather, I will ask him:“ Do you really have no regret? How will you feel if your son lives in the shadow of losing father?” I want to ask my grandfather, does he know everything about his great leader Mao, does he know every single pieces history of Mao? History is important to everyone,people learn from history, think and rethink from history. History can be good, some of history are glory, such as the victory of a great war and liberation, some history are cruel, like the beginning of a war or massacre. Anyway, we study history to consider the multiple faces of humanity, it can be kind or cruel, and history are effecting us all the time. However, if history can effect human mind, what will human do when the history is not true, or they are actually learning the wrong history. For example,. Before I come to America, I just know the positive history of my country, I know my ancestor followed Mao and fight with enemy then they won, and they made the new China, but I didi not know what dirty and ugly things they also did. In fact, where is the light and where is the shadow, there is no perfect, but there is better. Chinese Communist would like to show Chinese people what glory victory they did, but the dark things they would hide. They erased all their mistakes, because in this way, they can easily control the country. Mao Tse-Tung is the great leader of early China, in my grandparents’ mind, he is the god, he ended the war and bring freedom to the people. After I came to American, I found Mao also did something very bad. When he got old, maybe his mind did not clear like when he was young, he destroyed almost all traditional Chinese culture. In that period, children and teenagers were the people who are fresh and suit to make revolution, parents and teacher were considered as  defender of traditional culture. In Mao’s mind, traditional things are out of time, they should not to be kept. Because of Mao’s great status, people over thought his idea: if old people want to keep the traditional things, they should never exist. Therefore, teenagers and children can shame and hurt their teachers and parents , even though kids have not learn enough experience and knowledge, and Mao never stop it. Besides, most Chinese cultural relic were destroyed during that period of time. For most Chinese people, they know the fact which Mao’s events was happened, but they do not how bad and crazy it made for Chinese history and developing. Mao might knew how to win the war, but he did not how to develop the country. When Mao was old, he almost got everything he want, form example, he got people’s respect, he got the power to control the whole country. In another word, he lived in absolutely comfort. If somebody made anything let him uncomfortable, he will erase them no matter what method he will use. In some way, Mao’s idea have close relationship between the Chinese Communist now. The Chinese Communist now also tried their best to clean the dirty things of themselves, they hided the fact to hold their power, I can say if I still stay in China, I will never know that. History is a tool to improve our experience and value, but it should not used by dominators to screw the reality. If Mao still controlling Chinese government, China will be another North Korea, which is no freedom. Mao was a dominator in some way, and also good at playing war. He can unite most part of China because most people in that time felt enough to the war, if some one can bring them away from the war, they will do anything, even give up their believe and freedom. Besides, most of people are farmer and worker which were uneducated. Mao was also a farmer when he was a kid, he knew what is poor, and what is hunger, he also knew people with power will be very hard to enjoy the pleasure, so how can he did “ devote all him self for the people.” ( from Mao’s memoir) Just like a hungry woofs see a meat, he will hold the meat as hard as possible. Thats is the greed of a dominator. That was also why kings and emperor are dangerous. They love to control, especially love to control people’s believe and freedom, make people to their sheep. If I have a chance to meet Mao, I do not know what should I ask him. It is true that he bring my ancestors out of the war, but what he did when we was old have no difference between the war. Therefore, Mao is a hero at first, and then the greed of power let him become a tyrant, because when Mao got old, his brain was no longer clear, his mind was out of his control. All can think about Mao is not his victory and liberation,  I think his idea scarfed my grandfather, he brainwashed my grandfather. Even now, if some one quest Mao was a dominator, he or she will be arrested as betrayer. That is also why I never write about this article in China. The truth is I am not a betrayer even though I believe Mao was a dominator in some way. I still love my Chinese culture and family, and I also feel generally good with my country right now. Some people like me just want to know the truth and fact. If people just focus on their good will never grow up, they also need to find their mistake, study it and make themselves better. I also understand my country hide it because China have a large number of population, which means their are over thousand different personality and ideas. If the government show the fact, there will be another revolution, people will be  suffered again. However, government should not punish the guy who want the fact. People actually have the right to know the true history. If I have a chance, I want to drag my grandfather from Mao’s idea. In my mind, Mao was a murder, he was not the one who hold the gun and push the trigger. He gave his idea to somebody, and made somebody to willing scarify somebody’s life for something. My grandfather was a victim of Mao’s idea. In some way, my grandfather just like the lamb form The Silence of the lambs by Thomas Harris. The girl lets the lamb go to save the lamb’s life from the slaughter, but the next day the lamb come back and is killed by the butcher. Even though I told my grandfather housed  my father feel when my grandfather was dead, he will never feel regret for his scarification, we was totally brainwashed by Mao. My grandfather had a chance to make the selection between Mao’s “ general love” and my grandfather’s family’s “ personal love”, and he chose Mao, so he have no chance to see my fathers again, to see me forever. Our ancestors might have influenced us before  we born, they also gave us what they think imperceptibly. In fact, we can never talk with dead people, we just use our inferences and imagination to simulate what will our ancestors think about the question today. We need image them as another ourselves. In another way, we just using the history to think about ourselves to make us more knowledgeable and foresight. We will use their story, photo and notebook to bring ourselves to the place where we can actually think our own situation in a different lens. In this way, what we think is not what we think anymore, it include our ancestors idea, finally become our own idea. In conclusion, the idea of our ancestor is a part of our thinking inborn, it just like something lock in our mind, and we need a  chance to find a key to open the lock, the key can be a story, a picture , a sentence from our ancestor. When we get old enough, it is the time to open the lock, to combine their thinking and improve ourselves. We may not agree with their way to look at the world, but we may have our own view of the world after we read from our ancestors.

Meaning of Death

When we take a funeral, we always need to say something in front of the departed saint. I could not understand why we do that when I was a kid, because I knew that dead people cannot talk again, if we cannot get any responses, why we talk? My mother said if I talk something good about the departed saint, the family of the departed saint will feel better. After all, we take the funeral because we knew the departed saint and have some relationship between him or her. Now, he or she dead, we can do nothing to make them alive but give them some respect and benediction to make his or her family feel better. For human kind, it make sense. The funeral always make people think about our life. Human are weak, their life is short, their death is unpredictable. So many facts make our life just like an ants life, which is less meaningful. Most of people’s life are more like an ant’s life in some way, it is very busy and confusing. They worked harder and harder, tried to earn more money, when they got enough money, they found they had already old, they had no time to enjoy what they really want to do when they were young, all they got is numbers of paper. They dead with regret. It sounds like the life like that is boring, because their life have no pleasure, they earn the money, but money cannot take them away their death. Then, their whole life is meaningless except “paper”. If that kind of life is boring and meaningless,what an amazing life should be? I saw a disney movie “Coco” last year, and I find something in the movie is very interesting. The movie told people that the body death is not the real death of a person, the real death is he is forgot by the world. I know that most of people will think disney movie is just for kind, the idea of disney movie is over optimistic and ideal, but is it cannot make any sense for people? Newton, Picasso, Hawking, they all have already dead, but they still get remember by most of us, because they made the history and we read the history, once the history exist they will never pass away. Body death is the real death of a person in some way, for the person himself, death end all of him. What he left is his connection between the cruel world, even though he passed away, if he made something good for people, he will be remembered and appreciate. Some people know war is much more cruel than we thought, but not all of solider were afraid like the video we saw in the class, some of them knew they will die, they didn’t know if they can win the war, but they can believe. Cool said we should have belief. Some people never know what they will go after they die, but they know what they can leave for the world after they die.

Connection between ancestors

Cool says we should talk to our ancestor, and talk to the past，then we will learn a lot. Maybe our ancestors are someone who are not cool, or some we do not like some much, but we still inherit something from them, it can be genetic disease, or legacy.  Not all of the staff they gave is good, but some of them are  not bad. For example, my mother’s father gave her a lot of money, and then my mother have enough resources to raise me when she was 20. Our ancestors might have influenced us when we before born, they also gave us what they think imperceptibly. We need image them as another ourselves. Did War Initiate People

My grandfather suffered World War II, he said that people’s life actually have no value in the war. Killing was always happening during the war, because of there are no rules and laws, people can do every thing they want. Most of people were scaring, they want to survive. Other are totally released themselves, they did what they want to do, because they knew they may die very quickly, they did not want have any regret to miss something. Like my grandfather’s memory, the war actually release the animal natural and hyper thinking of human. For survive, people can do anything that we will never do today, people kill people, people eat people. In the other way, war canceled most of rules and limitation of people’s thinking, so some people will see the world more clearly, they can consider what the true humanity and human being. Once life is cheap, people will become “crazy”, they will not act like someone who they pretend to be. Soldier are the weapon, citizens are ash, government were playing the games, they used life as payment for some purpose which most people will never know. However, war can make a man grow, pain can become a gift, which teach people how precious life is. It also will teach people the world is more dangerous and cruel than we think.

Taoism with Cool

According to the book, Tao Te Ching have something very close to the cool, but in fact, Tao Te Ching is not easy to understand by most people. The purpose of the Tao Te Ching is teaching the king how to control their country, teaching people how to be a sage, how to relax. For the whole content of Tao De Ching, it is very complicated. Some Chinese researchers says there is no one who can really understand the true meaning of the Tao. For the old Taoism, they pursue the absolute pure and lofty, but they also believe the world should be chaos and unordered, because they believe this is the natural form what the world should be. One of the important element of cool is “resist”, which is totally contradict with the Taoism principle. Taoism believe people should actually “Follow”  the melody of the world. No matter what is happening, Taoism believe people should keep silent and claim to face it. Taoism believe our life is just like Yin and Yang, black is black but not one hundred percent black, as same as the white, which is the cool also what to claim.

Friendship

Somebody believe that friendship is very important for one’s life, I cannot deny that, but we should not put all expectation on friends. In anyway, we are the unique one who living in this messy world, and a lot of us will put their expectation on their family and friends, to beg other’s understanding. However, no one can know what we want exactly. Some times what they expect is not what they really want. In other words, the more people are expect for others, the more disappointment they will get. It is the same principle as well as hardworking can never bring people succeed. Some one told me, friends should set in one car, drive to the place where they want to travel, in this ride, they eat together, sleep together, and talk all the time. This is sweet, but people should never no too much things of others, the more they know, the more they will argue. Good trip of friends should be some friends drive their own car, so they have their space, follow each other. When they all feel hungry, they can find a place to eat together, but never spend their whole time on each other. Some times, people should think more about themselves, put the hope on their own, not others.

Confusing

An interesting writing should get out from school’s style, and finally beyond the school. However, for me, the school is more like the ruler of my writing style, but I am not sure that if the school is right or wrong. If school style writing is not suitable for us, why should we learn it? It seems like school is a kind of lock which lock our imagination and thinking. Beyond the school means we should believe in ourselves, to show people what we are really thinking about something without any limitation. If I abandon all the school staff, which I spent more than ten years to learn, it is very hard to accept. It just like the feeling when I have been eating rice for a long time, and then someone tell rice is not good for our health. I have been eating rice for many years, even though it is not so testy for me, but it is a kind of habit. I can change the habit, but it will not so easy, and the effects will not so good as well.

Cool Is Unusual

In my country, some people have some bias with international students who I am. They think we just rich kids, who spend our parent’s money and wast time in America. I am so curios why they think us like that, because I think it is not so easy to study in a place which is different from my own culture and I also need to use another language. I actually pay a lot of my time and energy with my studying, I actually feel very hard and stressful, so why some people still thinking Chinese international student are just lazy kids ho go to American to wast their time? Am I not  “ good” , am I just not cool enough to show them and let them to know I am not wasting my time, and my parents’ money. It is a very interesting topic to use the cool lens to look at myself, it is also very investing to use cool lens to look at the world which I am living.  According to cool, I think I am in a dangerous situation, if I won’t study well in America, I will be sent back to my country.  According to Bios, “ Black American have double conciseness, a black, and an American.” I think I also have double conciseness, an international student, and a Chinese. The international student status just for the Chinese public, and it is not a good conciseness for Chinese public. The reason why the Chinese public think us are not so good and wast time and money because there is numbers of news about report Chinese international students’ luxurious life: buying a BMW sports car, paying money to someone else to write their paper, having party everyday. In my option, it is true that these are happening on some international students, but not all of them . Media always overweight the fact to mess the public. The other conciseness is a Chinese for the native American. In fact, I have suffered races discrimination sometimes. When I am buying something in the mall, I can feel the difference from the salesclerk. When she talks with American she will feel very happy, and talks a lot with the American customers. For me, she just feels abhorrent, and doesn’t care if I will buy her products. The double conciseness is not good for me, because I am very serious about how people look at me. According to the class, black people is cool because they have double conciseness, that makes them to resist. For me, I am not sure that double conciseness is useful for my identity. I can resist, but what will my life be? I can just write a article on the social to show my real life, and show the Chinese public that not all the Chinese international students are lazy and wast their money and time. However, why should I do that? I just think it is tiring to study how media work for Chinese public to write a good article. I can use my time to drink and hang out with my friend, why should I write? Cool said if I will not resist, I will never get what I want. Even if it will work if I finish study with the media and a article, it will trigger other troubles. For example, the media will try to find information of my personal life to prove I am not hard working enough. I saw it happened a lot in the real life and movie. Maybe it is true like the cool said “ being cool should push yourself into the risk.” However, the college life is hard enough to me, so I have no time and patience to challenge with the risk. No matter what kind of conciseness I have, I believe that we all have self conciseness, and self conciseness is an important elements of cool. Human are different from animals because the self conciseness. Cool said we need to know what we want, and what we are doing. In the other word, we need to understand our self conciseness. I think cool want to say we need to find a way to order our value and resources. Cool people should know how to used the value, and if they run out of the value, then they should find other values or create value. They can do it because human have possibility, and cool people believe in their possibility. When they trap in a situation with limited resources, they want to find the best resources when they are in the trap , but they never give up breaking the trap and find the new staff which are better than the best. When we are tired to read the old fashion noble, we can open our laptop and watch something interesting on Netflix. When we tired to write letter for the friend who live very far from us, we can buy an iPhone and do Facetime. The fact show human are developing, and there are some people who are leading the human developing. For example, it can be technological leader like Steve Jobs. in my eyes, those people are cool, because they have changed the world with their own value. Steve Jobs use his own ability to create a new style of mobile phone, and made people all around world to buy it. Unlike Nietzsche who was isolated, Steve Jobs made his products have a close relationship with the world. Apple do not care who is their buyer, it can be a kid, a black, a women, they earn the money, and provide most of people are using their products to make prestige. I will also interest to compare my thinking with Nietzsche’s thinking. The class said Nietzsche is not cool, but it is the fact that he made a great influence. His idea might be a lot of radical, but I will agree with some part of his thinking. For example, I believe god his dead and the religion is a lock which seal our freedom. It is true that god is dead, or god never be born. If some people believe in myth, it is reasonable to believe the god is real. However, if we believe in history, it is not hard to see that almost all the religions were trying to unify people and control people. For our own good and freedom, it is not bad to think god is dead. My grandmother used to believe the god, because when people are getting old, the only thing they want is living longer, but the fact is no one can escape from the death. When people are thinking they are going to die, most of them will feel fear just like my grandmother did, then they will believe in god because in this way, they will have some ideal figure to rely, to release their fear. They actually do not care it is real or not. In my words, I wish my grandmother became a hedonism. She have spent all her time to get everything she care, it is the time to have rest, and enjoy what he have won, easy life is just setting in front of hear, she should not feel fear at all. Nietzsche also make me believe that personal experience have close relationship with personal shape which people are making. According to Nietzsche’s story, Nietzsche live and finally dead in loneliness, no one can understand him. That is why he want to climb on the peak to be alone and think about how crazy is the world. According to his life and experience, it is not hard to find he hates the world, because his fate took away his father and brother, his love and his health. How about he never lost his father? Maybe Nietzsche will just a name of a normal pastor, not the name of a cynical philosopher. For ourselves, we have easier life, but we always have to face some difficult things which are very tricky and hard to understand. For example, I feel very hard to read Nietzsche’s idea, because we are living in two different world. If I want to understand him, I need to stand at his place to see the world, which is less possible to me since we have totally different life experience. That is why I cannot understand Nietzsche with a higher level thinking. Some of us just give up, they try to say it is wrong and contradictory. They do not want to  spend more time to dissect the trouble and figure it out. Cool told us people should be patience and dispassionate. Cool also told us even though we are living in a world which is suck, but complaining can never change our life, we still need to live on and try to make ourself better. Some people who cannot bear the cruel world have already commit suicided. Commit suicide is a complicated argument which are debated by different people with different lens. I have studied in Japan for a year, and Japan is a county which have the highest commit suicide population in the world. The reason is most of Japanese worker are spending over eighteen hours in their daily working, but their salary still very low, they only have money to pay for their house rent, but no money to pay for the food. In this case, we can see they have no time to pleasure and fun. This kind of life make them more and more depressed. Finally they commit suicide themselves. In this case, I want to say that people should treasure their life. How about we use cool lens to see it: Cool said life is short, if life has already very short, cool will not end it. If we use cool lens, I think the people who want to commit suicide was trying to resist, they walked very hard, they tried to change their life, but hardworking cannot always bring people a better life, then they give up hope, stop resisting and say goodbye to his world. According to Nietzsche, people should stand on the peak to think about the things alone, people who commit suicide themselves are standing in somewhere alone, but it is difficult to say where they are because no alive people know where is the dead people and what they feel. Where they are standing cane the peak, but also can be abyss. For me,  cool can define the life when we are living, but it is hard to define the people who dead, The people who want to commit suicide themselves are trying to die, I actually cannot decide they are cool or not, they stopped resisting, but it is still the fact there are some great philosophers commit suicide themselves. Their purpose can be great which normal person, like the Japanese worker can never understand. However, I still feel a little similarity with all people who commit suicide, they end their life because they have nothing to lose, which is also a cool principle. What should a cool people like? Cool told us we should always know what are we doing and what we want. Cool people always know what are they doing. Their life just like playing chess. They are setting in a quiet room, just need moving their finger to control everyone on the chessboard. For the victory, they need attack and scarify. If they want to win, the whole game need to be considered very careful with a long time. Farther more, if some one have already control the game, they can do everything they want to. In fact, control people’s life is much more difficult than playing chess, because our life have too many unsure elements. For example, maybe I will die in a car accident when I step out of my house tomorrow. If my fate tell me I should die tomorrow, then I have no idea to change it. I do not believe in things like god which are mysterious , but some time I have to believe with my fate, most of our life actually is not controlled by ourselves. When we were kids, our parents want to control us, when we got to school, our teacher want to control us, and when we got into work, our boss want to control us. It is true that teachers and boss are suck, but when people stand in front of the power and authority, they will feel fear which make them hard to resist. Therefore, is very easy to talk resist, but hard to make it come true. The people who wrote or talked about cool, or how can be cool were just wrote and talked their ideas of cool, maybe they have never want to be cool, all they were arguing is just their desire or imagination. I want to use the cool lens to see the society where we are living. In fact, we are living in a small part of universe. For universe itself, it is chaos. Most things  in universe are unknown and ruleless.We were born from the universe, in the other word, we born from chaos. For chaos, there is no black or white, right or wrong, evil or justice. That makes people become interesting and unpredictable. Cool said can be right and wrong, but real never exist. Because of  different lenses of different people, one hundred percent right and one hundred percent wrong cannot be sure. If there is no absolutely right and wrong, no one can define reality. It is very interesting that we are living in a society which has right and wrong on paper, it is limiting by the “rules” and “laws”, police play the role as hero who are trying to keep the  “ justice”. When I was a kid, I think police are very cool, because they are the ruler of justice, and for a kid, he or she does not know what is the “ justice”,  he or she just know the people who rob the bank or murder people are evil, and the police is the justice, police arrest crime and protect innocent people. For now, I still cannot sure what is justice. Law said kill some should be got into prison and deprived freedom and human rights, Law says this is the justice. Vigilantes say the government and police are not the justice, they see what government can never see, they are the justice. I believe most super hero who is cool in public eyes are the vigilante. For example, Batman never belong to the police, they just cooperation with police sometimes. People still think Batman is cool, his suit and car care cool, his personality is cooler. He is a ideal figure of the rebellion, we know super hero is so difficult to be, so the super hero can only exist on screen. Cool say we have the chance to be a super hero, but we give up the chance. Why we give up the chance, we can be the great super hero which is super cool. In fact, I think most of people still would like to live in safe health and comfort. For a super hero, he need to save innocent people, the stranger all the time. For me, I actually do care the life of a stranger, because his death have no connection with my life like most people will do as well. I enjoy the super hero story, but I think I never feel what super hero feels. It is not my business to think the world is safe or not, I should think more about my self, like cool say people should think more about themselves. Besides, Revenger said they kill just from revenge, if the people who they care was not murdered, they will never kill. The problem is who can make sure that what is justice and humanity in this case. For revengers, they rebel to aggressor who took away the life of their people—-an eye for an eye. Finally they cannot escape from the fate, and go to the prison. I think cool said revengers are cool, they are filled with anger and hate, they are resisting , they have double conciseness, a murder and suffer. They are the guys who know if they do this way, they must face the bad end and still doing which is brave. Unlike Christian, they said they should give up hate and study how to forgive just like a sheep.

Choice

Someone wants to be cool, but being cool should give up something that vey important to normal people, such as money, heath, relationship, even though humanity. When I watch The Silence of the Lambs, I think Hannibal Lecter is cool. He is gentlemanlike, tactful. However, for some people, he is just a monster who like eat human body. The word “ monster “ maybe is not a cool word to describe a gentlemanlike person, but people cannot reject Hannibal is resisting. What he is resisting is humanity. Just like Nietzsche said, Hannibal’s conciseness is different from normal human’s conciseness, his is independent and unacceptable. He thinks that he is not eating human, he is eating pigs. In his mind, himself is different from the normal people, the sheep. This time, sheep is the sheep which is lying on the dinner table. Hannibal’s conciseness is very cool in some way, he can do what he like of his art, but he abandons the basic human ethic which most of people will never give up. He lets his fun fill his life, ignores the ethic and justice. For the humanity, or the philosophy, is cool or not?

Cool is not so cool

I agree with being cool should resist death because it just sounds very cool. However it is still unpractical and ridiculous. Cool people know that life is short, since they think they have the risk of death all the time. In my option, it is a kind of fear. They are very afraid of death, so they spend all their time to joy what they like. Maybe they will ignore the society and law, but they are still a part of the world, a part of their family. It is so selfish to enjoy the pleasure by themselves, because they are( the people who are enjoying the pleasure, or the cool guys)  just living in their own world. I will think that cool people should be selfish, because people should live for their own. Sheep maybe are the walking dead which are not cool, but cool man who fill with selfish and other negative personality are worse. They are smart, and they know what the world really like, but they run away and enjoy the pleasure by their own. This is not cool for me, they are coward. Probably, being a cool man should abandon so much love, happiness, peace, that is why it is so hard to be a cool man.

Where am I ?

Where am I ? It is the same question just who am I and what am I living for. Compared to Nietzsche and Du Bois, I have less life experience and academic knowledge so I cannot see so far like they did. Because I am so afraid to die, I cannot understand Nietzsche very well. I remember when I was 12 years old, I thought I was standing on a line of my life. The line has two point, the beginning and the end. I believed that only if I can be strong, then I can move to the end point and get what I want. However when I was 18, I knew there is no end point, the line is infinity. No matter how hard I worked, my desire will be never satisfied. Sometimes, I want to be rich, sometimes I want to be cool, but they are just temporally. I think I am standing on a ring right now. After a period of time, I will think some question which I asked to myself long time ago, who am I, what I really want. However, the answer are just temporally. Maybe I will never know the real face of myself.

Thinking of Du Bois

Du Bois should be respect. He is a great scholar with a great goal “ Asking Fairness”. He thinks black people are born with a “veil” which they cannot change and choose, their skin color and their historical background. Besides, Du Bois believes that black people have double consciousness, an American and a black. Anyway, he believes black people still have difference from American citizen, because he knew a lot and saw a lot. He stood up to ask fairness just because he was educated and he would like to learn. Cool people know how to communicate, and they know how to change themselves and others. They even can control everything they can and they want. For Du Bois, he failed because there are still some black discrimination today. However it doesn’t mean he is uncool, since not all black did what he did, some of black choose the violent way which is less cool. I think Du Bois is cool, but not cool enough. He tried to change the society but the fact was not so optimistic.
