Note

Flicker, Sueno was the equivalent of a 12 year old child when he was kidnapped right? In the meantime, none of the other stars came to look for him or rescue him? Did anyone miss him? Or did they know where he was but decided not to interfere? Man... none of the answers seemed comforting to this poor boy.

Yeah, Sueño has been held captive for over a decade. He’s 22 now so he was only 12 when it happened.

It’s not like the other stars didn’t care for him. They’re social beings like humans and of course they’d look after each other.

HECK, they’re ABSOLUTELY WORRIED SICK. He’s basically a very young star. He’s not ready or even supposed to be down there!

But their world has its own set of rules too that limit their attempts of finding where he is.

1. Like how humans can’t see stars when it’s the daytime, it’s cloudy or when they’re indoors, stars can’t either. “The stars are out tonight” is just when both species get to see each other clearly. Back then, some people who believed in the myth of Wishing Stars make their wish on clear nights. (Since Sueño has always been kept indoors, yeah, that’s an issue.)

I kinda have this vague idea that Magnifico made the nights in Rosas often very cloudy just so to make sure none of the citizens ever make wishes on stars and summon one. Then they can just be completely reliant to him with their desires. So that contributes to them not finding where this poor baby is this whole time. (Though I’m not entirely sure if I should go through with this concept just yet-)

2. Mature wishing stars can really only come down to earth when they harness a strong and passionate enough wish that allows them to travel. It’s like a one-way ticket. They can’t go down any other way.

And since Rosas has a wish-granting king, there’s not a lot of very passionate wishes made in a while now. Plus, for a wish to be heard, you have to really look and see an actual star, you know?

I’ve been brainstorming and trying to make sense how the place that stars live in work. Been thinking of calling it the ✨ Astral Realm ✨.

I might make an info-dump post expanding more on how starkind manage their lives and how their wish-granting process works.

(Which is funny because the Astral Realm will barely even be explored much in the actual story. Just my way of procrastinating while also technically working I guess- 😅)

Would you look at that. It’s the little prince himself ^^ ✨✨✨

My mind got curious on his design and the urge to draw him won over me. Whoops-

I like to think he does some wood carving for fun and he gifts around the wooden figurines he makes to people. But he doesn’t think that this hobby is anything “grand” and is nothing compared to his parents who are basically known as heroes, so he shrugs it off when people compliment on his talents.

Rani “longs” for answers to what exactly he wants to be and what he wishes to do. He’s sick of everyone telling him that it’s up to him to find out himself. Idk, maybe he finds wishing to the stars stupid because they don’t even give a definite answer back anyway.

I guess he’s a “see-it-to-believe-it” kind of guy?? I have nothing permanent for him yet. 🤷 I do know I want it related to the meaning of his name. (“Longing”)

Anyways, like I said before, his clothes and overall colour is inspired by the concept art below on the left. (Also because I heard orange symbolised ‘balance and harmony’ which fits how he has general knowledge in a variety of different stuff.)

Oh, and have the doodle on the right above between @annymation’s KOW!Evangeline and RFTS!Rani. He’s showing her a wooden bird he had made. Not his best work buuuuut, I bet Lin thinks otherwise.

I don’t have an official or solid design for him yet, but I have this idea of Asha and Sueño having a son (instead of a daughter in Anny’s AU.)

Like I said, I don’t have a solid design yet, but I feel like he would wear the clothing on the left and have the hair on the right. He has Asha’s eyes and hair but Sueño’s nose and structure.

His name?

✨ Rani Sabino Alentar ✨

I like the name and I think it fits sooo much X33. His first name just fitting the idea of “longing” like past Disney protagonists have been and it’s related to “Hopes and Dreams” too. His second name being a tribute to Sabino himself (It’s not like he passes away in my story. What? Noooo-). And his last name being Asha’s father’s surname. Still carrying on to cheer, inspire and encourage others. ^^

Idk about his arc yet since I haven’t put much thought of the RFTS! Aftermath and I don’t even know if I would have the motive to make a sequel 😅

But maybe Rani is a “jack-of-all-trades” kind of guy. One who tries to succeed in almost everything but struggling to find what he really loves to do and is good at at the same time. He “longs” to find something he’s passionate with. He just doesn’t know what. (Maybe kind of like KOW!Asha’s dilemma on how she doesn’t know what wish she’d give to Magnifico or smth like that.)

Sooooo, yeah. I might change some stuff for him further down but basically, Rani is Ashueño’s kid! :DD

I think Rani would definitely love to meet and get to know Chiara and Evangeline. What do you think Anny? ✨✨

Have you ever discussed with your colleagues the Wish Rewrite AUs of Star and Asha's children from other stories (not from KOW)? Because at the moment, only the names and appearance of the children of the main characters in your story are officially known. I hope you understand my question, I just don't know how to formulate it.

No we actually never talked about that, I think I’m the only one who has really put thought in the future after the events of my rewrite, considering I’m kinda the only one who finished writing mine 😅 kinda because I speed run the process

My sister commented on Ashueño saying: “So they’re sort of Eugene x Rapunzel but gender-swapped?”

Was about to say “Nah, not really” because the story is a whole lot different than in Tangled but then-

Sunshine who’s been locked up in a building for so long and now they’re able to see the beauty of the outside world and fall in love with it

Insecure person who didn’t like who they were but has learnt to see things in a new perspective and slowly come to accept themselves while admiring the wonder in their partner’s eyes.

Asha:

- Has never at all tried flirting or pursuing a romance with anyone before because she pretty much already has her own insecurities pulling her leg. (“Why would anyone notice me that way?? I’m the most ordinary girl and a disappointment to anyone I come across-“)

- She finds that pick-up lines are cheesy asf and finds them funny and cute at best, but a tiny weird and cringe at worst. So if someone forced her to flirt, she’d panic, unconsciously think of the first cheap one that comes to mind and then find the nearest hole to die in out of embarrassment. (Asha prefers subtle flirts that feel more natural. She doesn’t like doing them “just because” since she hates guessing games.)

- Being flirted on? Her first thought would be: “why-?” But when she feels like you’re being sincere and you’re not playing with her as a joke, she gets heavily flustered. She’s so used to being a wallflower that almost no one really notices. She has ZERO idea how to respond back to a flirt.

(Remember this one doodle I made? Yup. Poor girl would freeze.)

Sueño:

- Flirting? What’s flirting? Once Sueño warms up to people, he expresses his fondness to them via gifts and acts of service. If he is being a flirt, he doesn’t know that. He just thinks he’s being honest with what he thinks about you.

- While the idea of flirting doesn’t come to his mind, he is noticeably more touchy, giddy, soft and affectionate to people he’s very comfortable with. (Especially towards Asha)

- Sueño will initially think you want something from him if he got flirted/complimented on. But when he comes to fully trust you, he gets highly flattered and grateful at the gesture and will gladly return it. Either that, or he does the “hide-behind-his-hands-while-screaming-internally,” thing.

(Just like Asha, he’s not used to flirts but DAMMIT, he’s touch-starved and starved from genuine affection okay??)

Those are their initial reactions. But when they DO get together romantically, those two will have a playful relationship.

They’d be competing and trying to one-up the other while Valentino is just their definitely biased, score-keeper:

How would your Asha handle flirting? What about Starboy?

I think that The Fallen Star Asha would be a terrible flirt. She thinks the most basic form of attention is her essentially throwing herself at someone. She sucks at it. Being flirted with, this girl is dense as a brick. More like “why are you being so nice to me? What do you have planned?”

Cielo is a natural flirt. He’s suave and charismatic and a big tease, getting along with people easily. He pays special attention to people they’re attracted to, though, with extra nicknames in Spanish and things to rile them up. To the princess, he is way too sunshiney but in an endearing way… wait, why was it endearing? Being flirted with, even if it’s terrible, is like being flirted with Aphrodite herself.

Imagine this: Sueño’s mistrust and anxiety towards humans have him causing outbursts accidentally out of defence while TFS!Asha and her family are ALSO freaking out because “OMG, STARS ARE ATTACKING US AGAIN AND THEY WANT OUR SOUL-!!!!

As Cielo and RFTS!Asha are trying to calm things down, I imagine the RFTS!Royal couple are just watching these all unfold like:

(Title Post)

Synopsis:

After discovering a hidden and horrid truth about their ruler, King Magnifico, an ordinary servant girl named Asha, must take a great leap of faith to save Rosas from his clutches before time runs out for everyone she cares about.

Her fate is sealed once she stumbles upon another of the royal’s secrets. A celestial being held captive, believed by many to only be from myth: A Wishing Star.

With the star’s magical aid on her side, the duo discover new dangers, old friends, hidden secrets, and most importantly: The true power of a wish when one chooses to believe with all their might….
