Nozomi Kuroda (Hiyori Sakurada) is in the 2nd grade of high school. One day, she finds a letter in a classroom desk. The letter has only the word "like" written on it. The person who wrote the letter is Jun Setoyama (Fumiya Takahashi). He happens to be the most popular boy at the high school. Nozomi Kuroda feels embarrassed, but she eventually leaves a reply in a shoe closet at school. This is how their secret exchange diary begins. Nozomi Kuroda soon learns that the intended recipient for the first letter was her best friend. Nevertheless, Nozomi Kuroda is attracted to Jun Setoyama, who expresses his thoughts and feelings unlike her. She's unable to tell him the truth that the person exchanging messages is her and not her best friend.

Instead of going to work, Akira Tendo writes out a bucket list of things to do before he becomes a zombie.

Sui Chigira is a student at the same high school that Maaya Kisaragi attends. He is a top athlete at school and has a good appearance. He is also popular among female students.

Sui Chigira and Maaya Kisaragi begin their unrequited love play, but there are rules for the play. The rules are to never like and to never get caught by people. While doing the unrequited love play, Maaya Kisaragi’s broken heart gets healed by Sui Chigira and she wants to get closer to him. What are Sui Chigira’s true feelings for her?

One day, their home burns down in a fire. 13 years later, Anzu Murata (Mei Nagano), from a housekeeper agency, is hired by Makiko Mitarai (Kyoka Suzuki). She is the second wife of Osamu Mitarai. Anzu Murata soon begins to work at the Mitarai's home as a housekeeper. She has a secret purpose to work in their home.

Somehow, when Yuri later opens her eyes, she realizes that she is in the year 1945. She happens to meet Akira (Koshi Mizukami). He is a pilot for a kamikaze unit in the military.

Based on novel "Ano Hana ga Saku Oka de, Kimi to mata Deaetara" by Natsue Shiomi (published July 28, 2016 by Starts Publishing).

Filming took place from April 1st - May 4th, 2023.

At first, she doesn’t like Seiji Fukagawa, but she is attracted by Seiji Fukagawa’s painting and his blunt personality. They get close with each other and they both have their own secret they can’t tell anyone.
