Not exactly. At least, not right now.
We're getting into the slow months, so I have a week of barely anything to do.

I'm not really in a place to comment on appropriating the Hindi culture as I don't know anyone who practices it. But, people get angry about the Hands of Fatima tattoo's and such because they see it as the predominately white culture taking the sacred symbols of other cultures as their own property so to speak, as is the usual argument against Native American appropriation. Depends on the kind of scarves you wear, I guess. I personally don't have a problem with it so long as it doesn't incorporate any prominent symbology, things like that.

Well, here's the thing.
My uncle is a native, and so are a few of his relatives. He's taught me a thing or two about the culture, and I've picked up one or two things through research. The big problem I have with appropriation is that it isn't just 'learning about the customs' when it comes to some things. The headdresses for example. People get angry when the headdresses are appropriated as simple fashion pieces because the warbonnets are sacred symbols of achievement and valor, every feather having been earned by said member of the tribe. It's been likened to people wearing a Medal of Honor around as an accessory because they're interested in the military lifestyle, or holding a fake diploma because it makes for nice window dressing. Take it from me, we love it when people are interested in the culture. We encourage people to take what they can and learn more about it. But, it starts crossing our nerves when non-natives start to manufacture things ('native' jewelry, dream catchers, headdresses ect.) to turn a profit. If you like the jewelry and leather work, that's great. I can only suggest that you buy from a native dealer though.
