          “ never  too  soon.”  the  boy  replies,  without  even  thinking  twice  about  the  question.  music  has  been  such  a  big  part  of  his  life  for  so  many  years,  he’d  never  turn  down  the  opportunity  to  share  it.  that  was  the  best  part  of  being  able  to  do  what  he  does,  sharing  it  with  the  rest  of  the  world. he  picks  up  the  straw  out  of  his  frappe.  noel  isn’t  the  biggest  fan  of  coffee –  so,  really  he  only  ordered  the  drink  for  the  pound  of   whipped  cream.  “ depends.  if  your  label  doesn’t  mind,  i  don’t  see  why  not?  guys  and  i  release  new  music  way  often  just  because  we  want  to.” 

kami nodded her head, thinking it through.  she’d been through such a hiatus with her own music that now she wanted to just explode and give everything she’d been working on.  “there’s this one song, comeback, that i’ve been fine tuning lately and i want to release it like, yesterday.”  kami chuckled with a smile.  she worked so hard on everything, that she wanted to give her fans what they’d been missing out on all these years.  everything she could.  “i’ll have to talk with them, cause i don’t wanna have to go back to secretly leaking my stuff or using soundcloud again.”

                milena listened thoughtfully as she slid into the seat across from kami. she understood the impatience that came with waiting on release schedules, especially when you couldn’t stop creating. “if we can get sweetener and thank u, next back to back, you can do whatever you want,” she said matter-of-factly before taking a sip of her own coffee. “maybe just make sure your team won’t be pissed about it? but, i don’t think your fans would complain at all.”

kami shrugged her shoulders.  she hated having to wait all this time, but she loved everything she’d been putting out into the world.  she just wished there was a sense of waiting.  she did, but now that there was nothing else to do but wait for a new time to put more music out it was killing her.  “i was just waiting for so long, you know?  like i love what i’ve done but i also have not stopped working.  i’m the epitome of that demi lovato interview where she goes music is my boyfriend.  i haven’t really done anything else lately.”  she shrugged.  “i don’t think my team would be too mad, they understand how long i’ve waited.”

“okay, so i know i just released an album a month ago, but i’ve been working on new music since, forever.”  kami said, pausing to take a sip of her coffee as she looked at the other person.  with a shrug, she added, “is it too soon to release new music already?”  she’d been working so hard to make new music.  nonstop since she’d gotten her rights back and her voice back.  and kami just kept writing and creating, she wanted to do more.  but she didn’t want to overwhelm her fans either.  “should i wait longer?”

                  “that’s so sweet! i wish i hadn’t lost in touch with my cast,” stas said with a small hint of a pout. “it was just so long ago though, you know? so much has happened…” her voice trailed off as her mind seemed to race through the series of events life had thrown her way to put a pause on her career at the time. she brightened up at kami’s reaction as she tapped her temple, “i’m always thinking!” she laughed before humming in thought and offering as a suggestion, “what if we started with dessert? i’m pretty sure that local ice cream parlor delivers.”

“well, you had lucy camden from seventh heaven in there, right?  last i saw she’s having another baby.”  kami shrugged her shoulders.  she followed a lot of people on instagram, and kept in touch here and there.  but the cast of the two shows she’d been on for a while she kept in touch with more.  “oh, i know.  i mean, it’s crazy how much has happened in all these years.”  kami nodded, chuckling lightly as she thought about it.  she hummed, flipping through the app and grinned.  “god, you really are my soulmate, huh?  i was thinkin the same thing!”  she giggled, pulling up the ice cream parlor’s menu and holding it so stas could look at the screen too.

                       “i think i’m lucky mine doesn’t come up that often. i mean, i only did the one movie, so if anything, most people are surprised when they realize i’m the same girl from right on track,” stas laughed with a jovial shake of her head. lighting up, she nodded and clapped her hands lightly in front of her face. “yes, that sounds like the exact kind of weekend i need,” she nodded definitively. “dcom marathon with endless delivery.”

“lucky.  i mean, i still have a group chat with the cast of good luck charlie and lemonade mouth, because it wasn’t that long ago.  but it feels like a whole freakin’ lifetime.”  kami explained with a sigh.  she liked the cast on her disney shows, but her favorite had to be the sitcom she was on after her disney things ended.  at least, acting wise.  “endless delivery!  i love how you think, stas.”  kami giggled, flipping over and pulling up her phone.  “what do you want first?”

                 “oh my goodness, i haven’t seen those in ages,” stas laughed as she covered her face. what had once felt like the peak of her career was now almost embarrassing to look back on, though she had nothing but fond memories of her earliest projects. “oooh, i like where you’re going with this.” she tapped her fingers against her chin as if she were deep in thought. “i’m adding gotta kick it up to the list.”

“me either!  everybody asks me all the time about my disney days and i’m like, that feels like a lifetime ago.”  she giggled, shaking her head.  she had felt so bitter when she first started on a disney since it had been a way to get her out of the hairs of her record label at the time.  “ah, gotta kick it up!  okay, should we just...not leave the couch for this girls weekend and watch all the old dcoms?  cause i’m also feelin’ zenon too.  like, what’s postmates for if not so i never have to leave the couch and we can watch the classics?”

“c’mon, we should watch our old dcoms for shits and giggles.”  kami was sprawled out on the couch, curled up with a couple of the throw pillows as she fiddled with the remote control and looked over at stas.  “oh, oh! we should watch some of the classics.  i vote for get a clue, not just because i had a crush on jack downey, but because it’s quality entertainment.”

regretting putting out “return” when i did bc the new jojo album is so fucking good
