So I painted the E.M. Forster handwriting title on the front cover of my copy of Maurice.

When I bought it I ordered a second hand copy of the first edition and to my surprise it came without the dust jacket and filled with someone else's pencil lines - used for an English class seemingly, and an ex library book (Durham library funnily enough). It's now filled with my own highlighter strokes and notes, but I'm making it mine and don't plan on passing it on unless I suddenly and mysteriously die and need to leave it to someone in my will (@marigoldsbone that'll be you by the way).

In any case, I felt a bit bereft at the plain black cover so I did my own. It's not a perfect replica but it turned out pretty well I think. I might add further embellishments, I might not, I'll see.

(For anyone wondering, I printed out a picture of the handwriting onto card, cut the text out with a craft knife to create a stencil, painted over the stencil with white paint and touched up the edges and added finer details with black paint and a thin paintbrush.)
