Quote 1: It's just such a sick line. Like come on. First off, the first two sentences are direct references to two of Castti's previous chapters (one where she helps put an end to a regional conflict, and one where she lets a friend of hers live long enough for her daughter to be able to inherit her title), which is just. Great. Octopath is really good at using each chapter of its stories to build further into its themes, and this is a great example. Second, the MUSIC. This line plays in a pause during a boss fight, where the music cuts out. The first phase had the track "For the Dawn", which is great, but right as Castti says "Even if it costs us our own lives.", the track "The Journey For Memories Ends", which is specific to her, kicks in, and it's GLORIOUS. Third, the voice acting. Sarah Weidenheft's performance as Castti was all-around incredible (i'm going to link a few things to show that in the next section), but she really sells the mix of fear (facing off against an old ally) and hope (looking to the dawn) that Castti must be experiencing in this moment. Welcome to the Yo-Kai Watch tournament!

Hi! Been wanting to put one of these together for a long time now, but I finally put it together now!

The submission form is at the bottom of this post, but for now here's a few rules.

This first bracket is JUST for yokai. I might do a human character battle at some point in the future, but this first round is yokai-only.

No jibanyan variants this first round! I'm gonna do a separate bracket just for Jibanyan variants.

Boss and legendary (alongisde merican legend/mystery legend) yokai are also gonna be excluded for their own thing.

Please don't submit stuff through the askbox! The form is the place for that!

Submissions close when I feel like I've got enough.

Submit as many characters as you like, but only send each submission once!

Propaganda is encouraged, but please only use it to lift up your faves rather than hurt the opposition.

No Harry Potter or real people. Live action is perfectly fine

You can submit as many characters as you want, but please no repeats.

Fandoms gets two characters max.

Characters need their main color to be yellow. This includes character who aren’t yellow but are often associated with it.

Propaganda and Anti Propaganda are allowed, unless it’s hateful.

The more votes a character gets, the more likely they’ll be in.

So basically I got mad that @top-fictional-psychotic-woman was an "evil fictional woman bracket", but instead of annoying the mod, I went "huh, mentally ill characters sounds like a good first tournament".

The rules of the tournament goes as follows:

The character must be mentally ill in some way, be it personality disorder, psychotic disorder, depression, anxiety, really bad trauma, etc.

The character can be villainous, but I would prefer if they weren't.

If the character is a villain, you have to explain why they're mentally ill besides "they're a villain" or "they look crazy". Example: Most versions of Joker wouldn't be allowed since he isn't mentally ill in them as far as I know, but the 2019 movie version would because his mental illness isn't his violence and murders, is his hallucinations that he's dating that neighbor that takes the elevator with him.

You can submit multiple characters as a group if they're already a group in the source. Example: the Literature Club from Doki Doki Literature Club or Doctor Palomero's patients from the Spanish movie Toc Toc (watch Toc Toc, it's such a funny movie).

There's no restrictions on what fandom the character is from. You can submit characters from MCYT, Attack On Titan, hell even Adam Sandler movies if you want to, despite how much I don't like those movies.

No real people please, unless it's a fictionalized version of that person. Example: real life Van Gogh wouldn't be allowed, but Van Gogh from that Doctor Who episode would.

Feel free to send propaganda as asks or reblogs (though send it in the post instead of the tags), but I will only reblog propaganda uplifting a character, not bad mouthing other characters. If you're consistently negative about any character in the bracket, you will be blocked.

Please don't bring up discourse like "that character is actually really problematic". Do you know how short this bracket would be if there was only clean, advertiser-friendly depictions of mental illness here?
