Hi all,

Effective immediately I'm archiving this blog and have no intention of ever posting here again. I have turned off asks and transferred ownership to a different account, so I no longer have access to it on the tumblr account I use regularly.

If you have any questions about things I have posted in the past (e.g., my transcripts or avoiding romance guide) you may reach me at my new sideblog @nonuel.

I am not revealing my new sideblog because I have any desire for anyone to follow me over there. I am actually partially recreating because I am uncomfortable with the amount of followers I have here. I do ask that you please, please read my pinned to ascertain if re-following is something you actually want to do.

I have a few projects on here left uncompleted, namely updating my Ashley transcript. I still have every intention of doing this, and I will likely re-release it alongside Kaidan's on my new blog so they're both in one convenient post.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who has followed me. I want to especially thank everyone who has interacted with any of my meta posts or indulged me in discussions, because those were the best parts that came out of this sideblog.

In ME1, there's a possible love triangle confrontation if both Ashley and Liara's romances continue unchecked. Something I have always thought was strange was that, unlike Kaidan, Ashley has no post-love triangle conversation if Liara was chosen over her. It only recently came to my attention that this is actually a glitch (thanks LE1 Community Patch) and she is, in fact, supposed to say something about it.

It does appear that her conversation is a lot shorter than Kaidan's, and it doesn't seem to change based on whether she was previously charmed into being less cynical about the Council¹ ("paragoned" in my transcript) before the romance ended. I don't know whether this is actually the case or not, because I already had to spend an hour scrolling through the Booleans in the save editor to reactivate her romance after fishing a random mShep save off Nexus² and I'm a bit tired of doing that for the moment.

Anyway, here's the bulk of the conversation for the Ashley fans out there that like discovering new lines from her, because I truly have no estimated date of when an update to my Ashley transcript will be out. It's pretty high on my to-do list, but it needs a lot of revision and additions to get up to my current standards.

Misc. chatter under the read more - just don't want to clog anyone's dash.

¹ Boolean 4283 "SFX.Global_Plots.Henchman_Ash.tolerates_aliens" seems like this would be the paragoned plot flag, but there was no change regardless of whether it was checked or not. If someone savvier can tell me whether this is the correct plot flag, please let me know.

² Thank you to AngieDarkQueen on Nexus, who I don't expect to ever actually see this post but I feel the need to thank anyway, because I spent another hour before this trying to get this line to trigger in my own save before giving up. I intended to get way farther in finishing off this ME1 pt than I ultimately ended up getting because I got sidetracked by this, oops.

I was romancing Ashley as femShep via the Same Gender Romances mod, and I don't know if this is the fault of that mod or not - I also noticed discrepancies compared to the base game romance with mShep, such as the fact none of her jealousy dialogues over Liara were triggering. It's unknown to me if this is because the mod eliminates those dialogues, if there is some unknown mod conflict that prevents all of this from triggering with femShep, or if these are just lines JHale did not record and so there's nothing for the mod to trigger. Whenever I get around to updating my transcript, I'll be romancing Ashley with mShep again just to ensure I get the most dialogue possible.

In ME3, you have the ability to encourage or discourage a relationship between EDI and Joker. Later on in the game, EDI will discuss what she'd risk nonfunctionality for. If you encouraged the relationship between her and Joker, she says that she'd risk nonfunctionality for him. Her answer is different if you discouraged the relationship and this is the version that can be heard here.

I'm uploading this because I wanted to reference it earlier but I couldn't remember the exact dialogue and I also couldn't find it anywhere, so I booted up one of my old saves to refresh my memory. Posting it here so future-me doesn't have to repeat that process.

Here is the paragon/top option of the second dialogue option, as it also differs from the version where Joker and EDI are in a relationship. The first paragon/top option is the same as the version where Joker and EDI are in a relationship, so I don't need to post it.

SHEPARD (From "We'll protect you" dialogue option): We won't let that happen to you, EDI.

EDI: You may have no choice. If you perish first, I want you to know I will never be a part of the Reaper forces.

While I included Ashley's reaction to Tali's death in my compilation post, I also wanted to post hers separately because Kimberly Brooks' voice acting was genuinely heartbreaking and the subtitles don't do it any justice.

Normandy crew reactions to Tali's suicide in ME3 if Shepard sided with the geth. Adams, James, Steve, and Samantha have nothing to say.

The "P" and "R" in Joker's picture stand for "paragon" and "renegade." They are the two responses Shepard can have depending on what dialogue option you picked. The "*" is because Shepard will only say they tried to save Tali if they take the paragon interrupt in her death scene.

ASHLEY

ASHLEY: Can't believe Tali's gone. I know you did what you thought you had to do, but... I don't -- ASHLEY: Tali was like a little sister, you know? I... I think I need some time. I'll be fine. SHEPARD: Of course. ASHLEY: Just keep the geth away from me, all right?

GARRUS

GARRUS: I know you had your reasons for choosing the geth, Shepard, and I'll respect them. GARRUS: But Tali's choice... that'll be harder to get over. GARRUS: She was a good friend. I never did see her face, but I always imagined there was... What do humans call it? An angel behind that mask. GARRUS: And now I hope she's resting with them. GARRUS: Sorry. Maybe later. Still thinking about Tali.

JOKER

JOKER: I had to turn off the radio. Every channel was distress calls... and then static. EDI: Jeff, if you need to express your anger regarding the situation at me, I will understand. JOKER: No, damn it! I just... Why the hell did they keep shooting? All they had to do was stop. SHEPARD (PARAGON): The quarians' whole society was based on the geth being the enemy. I doubt they could see any other way. SHEPARD (RENEGADE): The quarians have been unreliable from the start. JOKER: Even Tali? SHEPARD: I tried to save her. JOKER: Yeah... I'm sorry. That was... yeah. SHEPARD: I wish it had come down differently, but the geth deserved a chance.

KAIDAN

KAIDAN: Tragic about the quarians. I always admired their resilience. KAIDAN: And I'm sorry about Tali. KAIDAN: She was one of a kind. SHEPARD: She was. KAIDAN: I'll miss her. KAIDAN: Will never forgive the geth for Ash... and now Tali.

LIARA

LIARA: An entire race, gone. I still can't believe it. GLYPH: I could order salvage teams to recover information from the crashed quarian ships, Dr. T'Soni. LIARA: No, not now. Let them rest. Let Tali rest. LIARA: I am so sorry about Tali, Shepard.

CHAKWAS, ENGINEERS, AND JAVIK

DR. CHAKWAS: Such a tragedy, what happened to the quarians... and to Tali. DR. CHAKWAS: Will you be okay? SHEPARD: I'll have to be. Not much of a choice.

ENGINEER DONNELLY: We heard about Tali and her people. ENGINEER DANIELS: We're so sorry, Commander. Won't be the same down here without her.

JAVIK: Do not mourn the "Tali" quarian. Mourn the fact she died and the machines still live. That is the tragedy.

Matriarch Gallae, I used your priority security code to forward a copy of the letters from this rogue Ardat-Yakshi to the authorities on Thessia. These emails were caught in the extranet filter before Falere and Rila had a chance to read them or learn of their existence. I recommend we refrain from telling them this "Morinth" has been trying to contact them and from making inquiries about their whereabouts. The woman is wanted for serial murder in over 23 systems. With your permission, I'll arrange extra watches until Morinth's capture or execution. I'm worried that we've grown overreliant on the justicars for our security. I would still like to know what tripped our perimeter alarms last week. I read the patrol's report, but I'm not convinced that it was an animal.
