Connecting art to your world
Color is absolutely everywhere we look, and I think it brings so much joy to our lives. Color brings intensity to our lives, we see green and we go or we see red and we stop. Color shows us signs in the way we live, we can tell how were sick by the different shades of our bodily fluids. If I had to have a color scheme I would probably choose to have blue and white as my color scheme, I think blue is such a important color and brings value to any room or object.

Journaling
1. Unity and Variety
Def: The similarities or the same thing in a singular piece of art/ or the complete opposite.
Ex; There's variety in our every day life so not everything is in unity and boring.
2. Balance
Def: Can be achieve in symmetry or asymmetry.
Ex; This can be seen on elaborate buildings, as you look closely both sides will often be even or matching.
3. Emphasis and Subordination
Def: Emphasis and subordination are complete opposites.
Ex; You might see examples of this in museums or art centers.
4. Directional Forces
Def: These are things that are set in places to make us purposely look at specific points of a piece of work.
Ex; A artist may use this strategy to grab the attention of a viewer and direct it to a certain part of the piece.
5. Repetition and Rhythm
Def: Repetition and rhythm work together to create more intricate scenes.
Ex; Sticky note cartoon/small change.
6. Scale and Proportion
Def: Scale equals a ratio, Proportions equals parts of a whole.
Ex; You could see these in many ways on the daily, cooking, or even money.

Writing a Self-Portrait
FoMy name is Chloe Lahman and im an 18 years old Female. My ethnicity is white and im a Chistian. For fun I really enjoy spending time outdoors and working out. I just finished my job at Publix, and will be starting a new job as soon as I move. I think what makes me the most unique is my outgoing personality, combined with my drive that I have to get things done. Im the type of person that sets there mind to something and theres no changing it, or at least not without a fight.

Art and Writing
I would like to start off by saying I currently have absolutely no artwork on my walls, as i'm in the process of moving. I'm actually moving next weekend so everything but my bed and clothes have been moved into a storage unit. I'm going to write about a piece of art that normally is on my walls, and in about 3 weeks(hopefully) I will upload a photo of the piece i'm going to talk about.
One of my favorite pieces of artwork in my house is a shadow box that we made when my Grandma passed away. We used quite a few media to create it; fabric, rocks, papers, pictures. The shadow box contains a rock cross that was my grandmas, we put her service papers into the box, we also put up some of her quotes in the background and we have a fabric behind all of this to line the shadow box. I think this art is beautiful and it reminds us and our guests of our amazing Angel in heaven.

1. Hi everyone, my name is Chloe Lahman. One random fact about me is when I was younger I had multiple art assignments submitted into different art competitions around Florida. However when I moved up into highschool, my school didn't have much of an art department so I haven't worked on art for a few years.

2. 5 Facts about the art work or artist
This artwork was inspired by liquid mercury
You can see this artwork on many souvenirs (like postcards and sweatshirts)
This structure is cleaned two times a year and it take over 40 gallons of detergent each time and the bottom six feet of the structure is cleaned two times a day
You can see this piece in the movie Transformer: Age of Extension
This pieces was selected during a design competition
3. When I first saw the picture of the artwork, I initially didn't realize how large it was. I thought that this picture was just taken at a certain angle, but after reading the label and looking at more pictures it became clear to me that it is huge. Before I realized the size of it I did not want to see it in person, however after reading about the details of it I would love to see it in person. I see the whole scene differently now, as it's all very large buildings and structures.
