I have a pet lamp who has a lot of long decorative frills/fringes along the edge of her shade, and recently she got in a scuffle with my friend's own lamp and lost quite a bit of those fringes. She's completely fine save for that, she just looks awkward and a bit tattered now. Will those grow back like hair or feathers do? I think my friend's lamp was trying to court her or something and she definitely wasn't having it.
it depends on what kind of lamp - some kinds of frills will grow back and others won't. for example, beaded/scaled fringes won't grow back whereas softer, more fabric-like ones will

I was out hiking through the woods the other day and heard this really odd and loud sound far off in the trees, something like a mixture of a yowling cat and a squawking bird, but it definitely wasn't a cat or a bird, at least none that I'm familiar with. Got me thinking, what types of vocalizations do objects make? Could whatever I have heard potentially been an object of sorts?
could've been a fox or a cougar - they're known to sound like a woman screaming or a baby crying.
pretty much all objects will make growls, clicks, chirps, and sometimes other noises such as barking or yowling. additionally, instruments produce a lot of noise to attract mates, but it doesn't sound like music at all

The semi-stray backpack that hangs around outside my house apparently befriended a bunch of raccoons and they keep trying to steal my stuff when I leave my house 😔😔😔😔 the backpack is very sweet, the raccoons,,, are not.
you should call animal control!! raccoons can transmit diseases to backpacks

Adopted a cello recently, and she’s been very territorial, is there anything that I might be able to do to get her to calm down. I got her looked at by a vet, and she isn’t pregnant or in heat or anything.
get her spayed if she isn't already and make sure she has plenty of toys and enrichment!

Incandescent lightbulb person once again!!
So my friend came over to my house for a little bit and her brought his pet pillow so that they (his pillow's gender is still unconfirmed so I'll use they/them pronouns for my friend's pillow) and my lightbulb could possibly get along.
It was anxious at first, I'll admit. I didn't know how well pillows and lightbulbs got along. Nothing bad happened to either of them though! Don't worry!
My lightbulb decided to curl up and take a nap on my friend's pet pillow. They were kinda confused but didn't seem to mind her just snoozing on them, thankfully.
I might invite that friend and his pillow over to my place more often...
PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM INTERACT! pillows are highly aggressive to other object species, and are very prone to suddenly attacking with no warning. you're lucky nothing happened /srs

are there objects/types of objects you shouldnt let interact at all? similar to how you shouldnt keep birds and cats together?
backpacks and lanterns shouldn't interact, off the top of my head. pillows are highly aggressive to other objects, so they should be kept away from other objects at all times

Hi! So I’m thinking of getting a pet soccer ball and I’m wondering if there some things I should know before getting one?
sports balls in general are very physically active! if you aren't able to bring them on walks daily, you probably shouldn't get one

I try feeding my backpack bugs with chopsticks but he has really bad aim and keeps biting my hand instead, is something wrong with him
possibly? but it sounds more like he's struggling because of the chopsticks, try feeding him with your hand while wearing a glove

Is it normal for a lump of clay to want to be shaped? My weirdo (named Pug) loves when I shape them into sculptures. They sit very patiently until I’m done and then they show themselves off to everyone else in the house. They always go back to a block shape on their own and it doesn’t seem to hurt them. Is this heathy? (And of course, I would never fire them like real clay!)
yes! clay objects love being shaped!

Im not sure if this has been asked before but I was wondering about object reproduction - if we adopt an object do we need to spay/neuter it, or do they have their own methods? Sorry if this is confusing, I'm pretty novice at this
i recommend getting your objects neutered, but it isn't necessary. think of it like getting a dog neutered! it makes them calmer and more docile as well as affectionate

hi. it's me again. i've slooowly been introducing my backpack (previously named unemployed, now named starstruck!) to my dogs. he's super chill about it and so are my dogs, surprisingly. they get along suspiciously well. it's like they're a little pack or something. like seriously they immediately bonded— even though i still don't let them be in the same room that lonh. is this common behavior among objects (or maybe just among backpacks)? or is this like a one in a million thing?
backpacks typically get along well with dogs!

Do desk lamps happen to be known for climbing? I recently adopted a green banker's lamp and he's just all over the place on my desk and shelves and throws a big fuss when I won't let him up there or lock him out of the room, and acts all skittish and on edge whenever he's low on the ground. The shelter I adopted him from never mentioned anything about it, so...???
they aren't known for climbing so much as just loving to be on top of things! you should let him get onto things like desks and not keep him on the ground

Hey, this is a hypothetical question (Im not actually going to do it), but what would happen to a person if they drank liquid from a container object?
Like a cup of OJ or something?
Once again, I'm not going to do it, I just want to know.
depending on the species it could either do nothing at all or straight up kill the object! PLEASE never do this
