Ok i joked about it yesterday but athena genuinely was pathetic. She really waited for 12 000 years to set her plan in motion and said it was to wait for the perfect moment blabla but what is the perfect moment? When there's no other divine power left in the universe to stop her. hydaelyn and zodiark are gone and the twelve are on their way out. The ascians are all gone as well. She thought she was gonna win because she deemed us, the poor mortals, stupid and weak enough. We were not a threat in her mind. Her son's reincarnation was NOT a threat in her mind. The powerful god she wanted to be only wanted to face the entities she deemed the weakest. she has to possess claudien to even exist. She's not strong and independent and divine but she sure creates pain in her wake.
So...apparently this has just been a thing in Benchmarks for Sometime Now™ but setting your character to the pre-default WoL in Benchmark and setting your computer to April 1st gives you Hildibrand. But, not to be out done, if your computer doesn't meet certain requirement, the Benchmark now gives you Brandihild.
Regardless of whether or not you as a player like Zenos, or whether your WoL is like the "mirror" he thinks they are, his presence in the story forces you to think about that. To think specifically about the WoL's relationship to violence - because as of Stormblood, fighting and killing is an inextricable part of what makes the WoL the WoL. Are their battles simply a means to an end, or an end in and of themselves as it is for Zenos?
