Meet the new Miss Jolie. Amid Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ongoing legal battles, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt legally requested to drop the “Pitt” from her surname, according to documents obtained by TMZ May 30.  The filing comes as Shiloh enters into a new chapter of her life. Per the docs, her name change request was submitted on May 27, the day of her 18th birthday and the exact day she became a legal adult.  In addition to Shiloh, Brad and Angelina coparent kids Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19, as well as twins Vivienne and Knox, 15. E! News reached out to Brad’s rep but did not receive comment. E! also reached out to Angelina’s rep but has not heard back. But it seems Shiloh is not the only one in the family shortening her moniker these days. Just last week, multiple outlets reported that Vivienne’s name appeared as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill for the new Broadway musical The Outsiders, which the 15-year-old helped produce alongside Angelina. Detectives investigating Bar Therapy fire seeking publics help to identify people in area at time of blaze

Arson squad officers are appealing for help to identify a person seen around the time of the fire that gutted Mandurah’s Bar Therapy in April as they continue to investigate the deliberate blaze. Specialist officers from the arson squad released CCTV footage on Friday and put out an appeal to identify a person and a group of runners who passed the heritage bar on Mandurah Terrace in the early hours of April 23. Investigators believe the fire, which gutted the bar and caused $350,000 in damage, was deliberately lit. Your local paper, whenever you want it. They want to speak to a person seen walking along the nearby boardwalk towards the Mandurah bridge around the time of the fire who was wearing a white-sleeved hoodie, shorts over bike shorts or skins and carrying a blue sports bag. Detectives also want to speak to a group of runners captured passing the bar on CCTV footage that morning and anyone who was in the area around Bar Therapy between 5am and 5.30am. The fire caused significant structural damage to the historic bar, which was built in 1928 and started life as Tuckey House on part of the site of the Tuckey family owned Peel Inlet Preserving Works. Bar Therapy co-owner Marie TeAu told the Mandurah Times the blaze destroyed the bar and half of the roof. Ms TeAu said they would rebuild but the extensive damage meant it was unclear how long it would take. The blaze was one of several fires in Mandurah believed to be deliberately lit this year. The Mandurah Forum Kmart store was recently closed for several weeks after a person broke into the storeroom and set it alight, causing damage estimated at $100,000. Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist. The suspect is also dead, authorities said. A second police officer was also critically wounded, CBS Minnesota learned. In a press conference, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey identified 28-year-old Jamal Mitchell as the officer killed in the shooting. The second officer is expected to recover, officials said. According to a news release from the city of Minneapolis, the incident began around 5:30 p.m. when officers responded to a shots fired call at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Blaisdell Avenue South, in the Whittier neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers were immediately met with gunfire, the Minneapolis Police Department said. About two blocks away from the original call’s area, Mitchell had been attempting to provide medical assistance to two men who had been injured when he was “ambushed,” Drew Evans with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said. One of the original victims died on the scene and another suffered grave injuries. A person believed to be an innocent bystander was also shot while officers were responding. They are in critical condition. Additionally, a firefighter suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Mitchell received recognition for his work with the Minneapolis Police Department in February 2023 after rescuing an elderly couple from a burning home. It was Mitchell’s third day on the job, according to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara. “He was courageous in every action that he did,” said Katie Blackwell, Assistant Chief of Operations at the Minneapolis Police Department. “He was a wonderful human being. He had only been at our department about a year and a half and he was exceptional in every way.” WCCO Witnesses described hearing the gunshots ring out when the incident unfolded. “Me and my girlfriend, we heard really loud banging at first,” Reuben Molina, who lives nearby, said. “Then we heard it again and again and again in rapid succession. And me and her were like, ‘Oh that’s gunshots.'” In addition to Minneapolis police, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also responded to the incident. Authorities were asking people to avoid the area. “The State of Minnesota stands ready to provide any resources necessary. Praying for all the first responders on the ground working to keep the community safe,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said in a tweet. Officers with the St. Paul Police Department were helping with patrols in Minneapolis on Thursday night, according to St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic shooting in Minneapolis tonight,” Carter said. “We are praying for our colleagues and the entire Minneapolis community.” A flood of responses from Minnesota leaders and agencies have been issued following the mass shooting that killed one Minneapolis police officer and two others. “Once again, a police officer bravely faced danger and tragically lost his life protecting the community,” Minneapolis Police and Peace Officers Association executive director Brian Peters said in a statement.  The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident. By Katherine Lawton Published: 01:57 BST, 31 May 2024 | Updated: 02:51 BST, 31 May 2024 The former Post Office IT chief has insisted he will give evidence over the subpostmaster scandal after the Horizon inquiry was told he could not be found.  Mike Young accused former Post Office boss Paula Vennells of trying to put the blame for the wrongful convictions of subpostmasters over missing money on the faulty Horizon IT system.  Mr Young was in charge of computer systems for the Post Office between 2008 and 2012, when many postmasters were wrongly accused of stealing.   Ms Vennells, 65, last week said the IT boss was one of the five people responsible for the scandal while giving evidence at the Horizon IT inquiry.  Mr Young told The Mirror: ‘Paula needs an out. She’s using me and four others. Hey, she’s got to do what she thinks is right for her.’  Mike Young was in charge of computer systems for the Post Office between 2008 and 2012 Former Post Office boss Paula Vennells said the IT boss was one of the five people responsible for the scandal Ms Vennells arriving at the Horizon IT inquiry at Aldwych House on May 24  He added: ‘She was the CEO.’ He added: ‘I don’t bear any responsibility for the Post Office scandal.’  Activist subpostmaster Alan Bates last night said he was disappointed by Mr Young’s comments, adding: ‘They are all passing the buck.’  Chair Sir Wyn Williams said the inquiry had been ‘unable to trace’ Mr Young. Ms Vennells said she does not ‘know what he’s doing now’.  Mr Young has reportedly been working for a research project funded by the taxpayer and run by the University of Exeter’s business school.  He added: ‘I’ve spoken to the enquiry well before last week. The back office doesn’t know what the front office has done. I’ve reached out.  ‘They reached out to me on the 2nd of April, I replied on the 2nd of April.’  It comes as Ms Vennells cried again last week while giving evidence at the Horizon IT inquiry after insisting that she ‘loved’ the company. The shamed former CEO told the hearing in London that there are ‘no words’ that will make the ‘sorrow and what people have gone through any better’. Activist subpostmaster Alan Bates last night said he was disappointed by Mr Young’s comments Ms Vennells arriving at the Horizon IT inquiry at Aldwych House on May 24  Ms Vennells – who insisted she ‘worked as hard as I possibly could’ – broke down in tears, after doing the same on the first day of her evidence.  She became emotional as she told the inquiry: ‘I loved the Post Office, I gave it… I worked as hard as I possibly could to deliver the best Post Office for the UK. ‘What I failed to do was I failed to recognise … the imbalance of power between the institution and the individual. I let these people down – I am very aware of that.’ Ms Vennells was accused of being in ‘la-la land’ and responsible for her own downfall during questioning by Edward Henry KC, a lawyer representing subpostmasters. She added that she lost all employment after the Court of Appeal passed a judgment which ultimately led to a number of subpostmaster convictions being overturned. Active shooter in Minneapolis injures multiple people

MINNEAPOLIS – Two Minneapolis police officers and four civilians were injured Thursday in what officials are calling an active-shooter situation, law enforcement said. Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives responded to “an active shooting situation” and are “there to help expedite the firearms investigation piece of it,” said Ashlee Sherrill, a spokeswoman for the local field division. Minneapolis police said in a Facebook post the incident was in the Whittier neighbourhood of south Minneapolis. The post called it a “fluid situation” and urged residents to avoid the area.
