by the fallout tv series, nate is probably level 100+. he's the general of the minutemen and has helped settlements across the commonwealth. raiders are nearly a thing of the past, as the minutemen have grown to dominate the region, pushing the brotherhood out peacefully and sending them packing back west.
nate is usually clad in his general's attire-- but sometimes, just for the sake of nostalgia, he masquerades as the silver shroud to protect folks. the mythos of the hero has reached batman proportions, with raiders wary of the minutemen and the nigh 'immortal' hero, they've all but abandoned the commonwealth for greener pastures.
nate has taken it upon himself to liberate the vaults, which brings him to california.

"He's definitely one dynamite guy. Benjy and I are big mutant allies. I didn't fight the damn Nazis to deal with bigots in the modern day!" Spider-Ma'am was a bit cantankerous compared to most of her variants. Then again, her nephew was a grown man. She didn't have to watch her language so much.
"Magneto is what we called back in the day a babe magnet. I suppose one should expect that from the Master of Magnetism!" She let out a giggle at the play on words.
"I suppose according to modern vernacular, you'd say he's got mad rizz."
"Before I say what I'm about to say-- I wanna remind viewers I'm nearly forty." Turned out Deadpool wasn't the only one who could break the fourth wall. Then again, Spidey had been transported into this life via getting hit by a truck.
Reincarnation was weird.
"Magneto can get it. He's all that and a bag of chips. Like goddamn I hope he swings both ways cuz I will shoot my shot in a heartbeat."

"Is that so." Nate had gotten used to killing-- as a soldier and as a survivor. The Commonwealth was full of Raiders, Super Mutants, and Robots that wanted everything that wasn't like them dead. He'd slipped back into fighting like it was an old habit.
Which it was.
"Sounds like you could use a drink." He mused as Dogmeat gave the Synth a good sniff. He seemed alright now. Human would get worried if his friends were hurt.
At the comment of a drink, he let out a bark of his own, so as not to be forgotten.
"Of course with you too, Dogmeat."
Nick lets a small smile cross his face. It felt good and weird to hear a human chuckle out of amusement and not out of humiliation on his end. Nick shakes his head with a playful laugh as Nate calls Nick his charming partner.
"More anti-synth bastards, sadly." He speaks with a small frown on his lips. He hated being a synth because of people like the ones who were beating on him, but every time Nate showed up and scared them off or killed them, it made Nick happy to be who he was.

Ken couldn't help but smile bashfully at her praise. She was his everything. Sure-- there were other Kens, but he was hers. A matching set. He adored every moment he had with her.
"Every day is amazing. You're amazing! Let's get ice cream. You want hot fudge or caramel?" He looped a hand over her shoulder, a one armed hug.
Her smile can only widen at his words. ❛ Ken, you’re so compassionate and sweet! ❜ Truly, she couldn't think of someone kinder than him. It's why they were best friends! Nate let out a small amused chuckle. It felt so good to laugh-- and he oft found himself doing so at Nick's quips. After losing his family and finding himself stranded 200 years in the future, he had been rather sullen and melancholy.
Meeting Dogmeat and Nick-- Piper as well-- had changed him for the better.
The Minutemen helped the Commonwealth.
The Silver Shroud protected it.
"I'd be a fool not to save my charming partner." The hero act was dropped as he removed the hat, smiling.
"Were you working a case when these idiots jumped you? Or were they just more anti-synth bastards?" It hardly mattered what they were-- now they were past tense.
"I am now, handsome." He replies, smiling as Dogmeat licks his outstretched hand. With his other hand, he picks his hat up and plops it back on top of his head. He gets to one knee, moving his hand that had picked u his hat to scratch behind Dogmeat's ear.
"I mean, yes sir I am." He takes the stimpack and turns it in his hand so the tip was pointed at himself before stabbing himself in the arm with it. "Thanks, Na- Silver Shroud."

"You alright?" The hero voice was dropped for a moment. It was just the two of them-- and Dogmeat. The canine moved toward the detective, wagging his tail and licking the outstretched hand.
"I mean-- Are you relatively unharmed, citizen?" He inquired, striking a pose in the trenchcoat and fedora. He pulled out a stimpak, offering it with an outstretched hand. These anti synth folks were rotten in his eyes.
He had seen what hate could fuel-- he lived through it.
"Easy Silver Shroud," Nick spoke, holding up a hand to show the other he was okay. He climbs to his feet slowly, looking over at the humans who were beating on him moments ago. He hated humans, not all of them mind you; he liked the Silver Shroud and Nate, who were definitely not the same person.

The moment the stranger showed they meant no harm, Dogmeat relaxed. His tail started to wag as he moved closer to that hand. Pets were the greatest thing, next to protecting his human. VERY close second.
"You make a new friend Dogmeat?" The human following him let out a soft chuckle. Seeing a ghoul for the first time was terrifying, and he certainly empathized with folks like the Vault Tech worker.
But he also ran a Settlement full of 'em. A safe haven.
"Name's Nate-- that's Dogmeat. He's a real sweetheart to good folks, and an excellent judge of character."

puttin together a verse to write with any noras/sole survivor women. with nate as a synth created by the institute. kept in a deactivated state until nora/sosu enters the institute. then bada bing bada boom– shaun has a great way to win his mother over to his cause.
does he know he’s a synth? not a clue. his memories are fabricated and fuzzy at best– he’s been told by doctors at the institute that his memory troubles are due to trauma. he’s even got a head wound scar from being ‘shot’
