My Little Pony Redesigns - Rarity

And lastly, Rarity, my second favorite of the Mane 6 (Fluttershy is 1st)

I knew I wanted to add darker colors, like a lot of others do, I think it balances her colors well. But I also knew I wanted to add more blues and greens to her palette, and I think I did an alright job with that :)

But, this isn't the last MLP redesign I'll do, I plan on redesigning the other characters too, probably more than one at a time too. But for now, the Mane 6 is complete :)

My Little Pony Redesigns - Fluttershy

Almost done w/ the mane 6, Rarity's the only one left, after Fluttershy. And speaking of, here's some notes on my design for her.

I adore when people retain her bat features, and I had done that in a previous design from years ago. But, Fluttershy, as I head-canon her is only half-bat, half-pegasis as the magical transformation wasn't enough to fully turn her into a bat pony.

Before the Bats! episode in season 4, she was a normal pegasis, but from that episode and onwards she's half a bat pony. She can still see fine in daylight, as I headcanon all bat ponies can, their eye-sight is even better than regular ponies at times. I'd imagine the only way being half-bat pony gets in Fluttershy's way is when on a full moon she gets an uncontrollable appetite for fruit, but that's the only thing she has to deal with.

And I do have my own personal headcanons for bat ponies, but I'll save that for a later re-design.

My Little Pony Redesigns - Pinkie Pie

4/6 done so far! And here's the partiest-pary pony of them all.

I knew I wanted to add the iconic blue and pink a lot of other artists give her, it just fits so well with her palette. And on that note I did darken some of her colors, but she's still as cheerful as ever.

I wanted the blue and yellow spots to look like sprinkles & I added several round and bouncy shapes to add to her personality, and the general friendly appeal Pinkie has. Also, BIG hair, I love drawing big hair, and if anyone deserves it, it's Pinkie. I had initially wanted to do a blue bow in her mane, but I decided yellow would be better, to both balance the three main colors, and to make it stand out against her purplish-pink hair.

My Little Pony Redesigns - Rainbow Dash

3rd one down, three more to go! (for the mane 6 anyway)

I knew going in I wanted a more punk look for my Rainbow design. She's still an athlete of course, but finds the punk genre fun and appealing.

Also, once I finished coloring her coat I realized she has a LOT of blue, so last minute I omitted any blue from her mane and wings, but it still works as a rainbow, technically. At the very least I'm happy with it, and that's what counts. Also her cutie mark isn't too original, but I wanted something more simple, and to blend in with her colors, as her coat already has a lot going on.

My Little Pony Redesigns - Applejack

Second redesign, let's go! I adore AJ, and I don't think we see enough love for her :)

I knew going in that I wanted to make her bigger, and stronger (and Clydesdale looking, like her brother)

I also last-minute decided that she'd have heterochromia, as I wanted to incorporate more "Apple" colors into her palette, as I did with her cutie mark.

It won't be posted for a little while, but Rainbow is next :)

My Little Pony Redesigns - Twilight and Spike

Along with making some human designs for My Little Pony, I also wanted to (re)make my own designs that I can use when I'm drawing the characters. (I've always loved redesign the MLP cast, and I absolutely LOVE seeing others share their own designs and head canons)

First up is Twilight and Spike! I didn't change much for Spike, as I actually like his color scheme, but I added some more purple-blues and a little pink to his scales. Also, he's a little chubbier, but I think he's happy the way he is :)

As for Twilight, I've always been a firm believer in her having warm colors, so I added both to her coat and mane. And, her mane and tail are cut into a shorter "bob" almost, as I think it looks very cute on her. And, glasses of course. I've seen a lot of other people give her glasses, and I think it fits her pretty well too.

Anyway, more is to come of both these pony, and human designs, but it takes time to make the art. So I'll post the next design whenever I have the time :)

Talk of the Town - Mini PMV

I've missed making PMVs (Picture Motion Videos), since I haven't made any since I left the Warriors fandom, but they're so fun.

I genuinely enjoy editing videos, even though my skills aren't great, I'm really proud of this and I wanted to test what I could do with the new editing software that came with my laptop. I'd also love to get back into making animatics :)

MLP Mane 6 - 2024 Human Designs

I've been wanting to re-design my MLP FIM Human designs for a while now, as the previous versions were from 2021-2022, and I really don't like those old designs now. They can still be found on my page, and I won't delete them, but I thought it was about time for an upgrade! (Also in that original batch I did, I never drew AJ, so I'm also making up for that :/ )

And, just to get it out of the way: This is MY own interpretation of the characters. I'm not going against anyone else's designs, and I would hope that no-one would do that for me. They are ponies without specified race or ethnicity, an artist is allowed to interpret them however they want.

Anyway, as for the designs themselves I wanted to include small details about the characters, mostly head canon stuff. I'll run through each of them and give my small commentary on my designs.

Quick Note: Each of the mane 6 are wearing Friendship bracelets, and each matches a specific other character, but that doesn't mean that they value their overall friendships any less. I simply chose the combinations from the episodes I remember those specific two (or more) being in together. But, for the sake of harmony, let's say that they all have bracelets of each other, and simply chose just two to wear to their photo shoot.

Rainbow Dash: I wanted a very tom-boyish/partly sporty look for her. Baggy shirt (probably wearing a sports bra?), athletic shorts, bandages & scrapes (from falling, etc.) and some very nice sneakers. (One of her most prized possessions)

Pinkie Pie: Fun colors and fashion, I wanted her hair to be as wonderfully fluffy and curly as it could be. Also her sandals were so fun to design, I imagine she calls them her "cake shoes".

Twilight Sparkle: Far more subtle in design and colors, but I figure that's what she'd want. Also her hair shape is so fun, I'm so proud of it.

Apple Jack: Actually one of the more detailed designs, but I just had to include everything I thought of. I imagine she's very tanned from her work, but it follows the line of her clothes, and her freckles most often appear there. (I'm not actually sure if that's how freckles work, I'm just assuming :/ ) Also my dad gave me the idea to put her cutie mark on her belt buckle. (I was just gonna do trees or smth, but this is far better)

Rarity: Lots of little details, and attention to detail. Looking at it now, I could've added more white into her design than I did, but I'm okay with her palette. Her hair was my favorite to color :)

Fluttershy: (My favorite) Was a simpler design, like Twilight, but again I think she'd appreciate that. There are some scars on her legs, hands and parts of her face, and I added those as she works with animals, and I'd figure that, although they do listen to her, they are still animals and can get rowdy without warning. And they are fully-healed scars, she's not in pain, her skin just has a lot of story to it. (And you know me, I had to add a bit of Discord's influence in there! I imagine that he made the necklace for her, and although it's strange and doesn't seem to go with any outfit, she loves it dearly.)
