ooooh this is soooo tough i've read so much good shit this year. honestly probably Serenity in Those Deep Waters. it's not my usual team, pairing, or content but i so very much enjoyed it and i've already reread and enjoyed it just as much the second time around too.

red wine supernova !!! the way this fic has taken over my entire psyche like im actually unwell about it. i have, could, and probably will scream about it for hours on end. like genuinely i think everyone should read it just as like, a work of fiction in it's own right.

probably crib fic tbh? i always said i had an idea for lil continuation scenes after they get together but then i went and wrote nate's pov instead, but i still think it would be fun to explore those versions of the character's more and see how that relatoinship develops. that fic is so silly and fun so i'd love to play around in that verse further at some point

the restaurant au i'm currently working on (the most consistently, at least). and like eventually it'd be really cool to post the 20k (and then some) of the college au i started a year and a half ago but that's looking less and less likely tbh :(

all sorts of places! sometimes it's from comments or real things that happen, sometimes it's from tumblr posts, sometimes prompts, sometimes tv shows. it's all over the place tbh.

not easy at all! very rarely do i have a clear idea of what i want the fic to be called and often times i only find the title right before posting.

Yes I do have thoughts on omega4omega Nate and they honestly star with the AMAZING ABO SidGeno AU swallow the fire by cascara_soda.
Like, the idea that Nate is so uncomfortable and defiant as an omega, that he refuses it and doesn’t like what it means, secretly wishes to be literally anything else.
But of course Nate’s personal story is his growth and self-acceptance so by the time Cale arrives he’s…settled with himself. He doesn’t want omega shit, still, but he’s accepted that he can still be…whatever the fuck Nathan MacKinnon is, even though he was born an omega.
But Cale still rankles, a bit.
Because it wasn’t that Nate had ever thought himself above other omegas. He hadn’t, really, even though that was something that got twisted up in not wanting to be himself. But Cale smells like sunshine and he blushes when he introduces himself. And Nate’s chill with being an omega, like, he’s cool he’s totally fine. But he looks at Cale, beautiful and soft-skinned and thrillingly confident, and fuck, he wants to be an alpha if just so he can have this one.
Anyway. That’s just a ramble. I do hope you write these two someday—I adore them.

I remember you talking about writing Nate and Cale as omega/omega and how that would play on Sid being in an Alpha/Alpha relationship and how they had made a video about alpha/alpha to teach about wolf relationships and how they never even thought about omega/omega even though they were in a nontraditional relationship.
Gotta say, I'm sort of loving this headcanon about Nate sort of starting to be okay with his omega self until he meets Cale. At first he thinks he's annoyed because Cale is the type of omega Nate has never been able to be, and even though he doesn't even want to be, obviously, it's still grating. But then he starts noticing Cale taking up more and more of his mental attention, and smelling really amazingly good and...then it just sucks that Nate isn't an alpha. Because obviously such a perfect classic omega as Cale wouldn't want to be in a relationship with another omega. Right??

People can say whatever they want about how hockey players are "just aggressive goons playing a violent sport" (okay, no they can't because I will literally fight them) but I've seen them keep up with and wear friendship bracelets for months because a sweet little boy made them for them.

Ross figures he probably should've done a little more research.
They're not necessarily under prepared. He'd looked up the old mansion's history and gone down the requisite Youtube rabbit holes. He bought the fancy equipment, even took the time to read all the instructions. Or well, he skimmed them at the very least.
And then he'd recruited his friends to capture whatever the hell had sent shivers down his spine on Halloween.
It's just now the camera won't fucking focus.
"Get that out of my face, dude," snaps Miles.
His hand comes up to cover the lens, then unceremoniously shove it and Ross away.
"One sec," murmurs Ross as he ducks down, then nudges even further into his space, the screen in front of him showing the blurred edges of Mile's chapped lips as it tries to focus. He zooms in on the gap in his teeth, zooms out, then in again, but everything remains a slight blur. "It's not focusing, dude."
"Yeah, cause you're like an inch away from him," says Logan and he snatches the camera right out of Ross's hands. "And it's dark."
"It's supposed to do well in the dark. It's why I got it."
"Right," says Logan with a smirk, clearly trying not to laugh as he fiddles with the camera. "To capture the 'ghosts'."
"This place is haunted, man, I'm telling you!"
Logan exchanges a look with Miles, who just snorts with laughter. He shrugs. "Thought you were kidding, bubs, I'm not gonna lie."
