I Don't Deserve You
“I don’t deserve you.” Sasuke tells him as they are lying in bed.
They are cuddled against each other, with Sasuke curled up on Naruto’s chest, inhaling the scent that calms him down almost instantly.
Their legs are tangled and they are pretty much a mess of skin but neither seems to care.
Naruto’s arms are wrapped protectively around Sasuke as if he is terrified the raven will suddenly disappear.
He most definitely is. The frequent nightmares are more than enough proof of that.
Sasuke clutches tightly on Naruto’s shirt as he utters the words. His eyes are closed tightly and tears are threatening to soak them.
The blond softly shakes his head even if the other can’t see it. A hand goes up to stroke the young Uchiha’s cheek and the boy leans helplessly on the touch.
“You deserve the world.” Naruto whispers as he places his lips on the other’s forehead.
A tear rolls down.
“You deserve everything I can give you and more.” he says again and pulls him even closer.
“So much more.”
Another tear falls.
“I love you.” he tells him and his voice catches. He says it again and again. He whispers it in his ear. He wants him to know that it’s true. That he’ll never stop.
“And I will spend my whole life proving it to you. Proving that you are worth saving. That you deserve the universe.” their lips meet and their tears are falling. They are mixing and flowing down in small rivers.
They break apart and Naruto rests their foreheads together. He gently lifts Sasuke’s chin and the other slowly opens his eyes.
Naruto is blown by how much he loves those eyes, how far he would go to keep them shining.
He then wipes the cheeks of his lover and smiles softly at him. The smile he gets in return has his heart racing and his breath catching.
I love him, I love him, I love him. Echoes inside his head.
“I’ll spent eternities if I have to.” he says as he drowns in endless black. “And if you want to know the truth, I am the one who doesn’t deserve you.”
Sasuke shakes his head and pulls his face closer. Their lips brush and their mouths collide. They fight and they clash and they are hard and they are soft but that’s the way they’ve always been.
His head finds its way to the blond’s collarbone and stays there. The other hugs him close they both sigh.
They have found their home after searching for so long.
The last thing that is heard before sleep claims them is Sasuke’s barely audible whisper.
“I love you too.”
