Don't leave me, please don't be, the seventh maid in a row.
(here is a more detailed and the offical cover of this au.)
the flowertale au was one of my favorite sans au despite the flowerfell au being the more popular of the two. Decided to make a John Dory Au based in it since, why not. Also, might have a character death. 😉
in this Au, the world is being reset when certain trolls die and type of flowers will form, from their cause of death. No one seems to remember their deaths besides John Dory.
John Dory would know that the world had reset since he wakes up in the same place everytime it does. He’s always confused when it happens until he died and was reset. This caused him to figure out what was happening.
Flowers were forming on the Trolls that were seemingly had died before the reset. Each Trolls would grow different flowers but some could have multiple flowers blooming as well.
White Clovers, Holly flowers, Willow flowers, and Columbines were John Dory’s flowers that bloomed from his right eye making him blind from that side. He had to adjust to this and eventhally he did.
In the beginning, JD was worried and confused at the same time as he noticed that the trolls he knew were supposed to be dead, are alive and seemed to have flowers blooming where the wounds, that they die from. He eventually, went through many resets until it was his turn to die and being alive once again, only to find out that he is half blind.
Figuring out which flowers he had wasn’t that hard and thought that it fit him since they flowers were some of his favorites.

I saw some others doing Sans Aus for John Dory. Decided to take one for myself.
Flower John Dory (FlowerTale Au)
In this Au, Trolls are being reset when they die and a type of flower will form, from their cause of death. No one remembers but John Dory as he always witnessed each death of other trolls.
Each Trolls grows a different flower that represents them. John Dorys’ flowers are White Clovers, Holly, Willow, and Columbines. Poppy’s flowers are bluebells, Aster and Angelica.
In the beginning, JD started out with no flowers, until the first time the reset happened. He doesn’t remember but out of nowhere, everyone that were dead seemed to be alive now and what shocking was that John Dory seemed to be having flowers out of his right eye.
John Dory can recognize flowers, since he’s a survivalists. He had seen them all.

a scene from my fanfic; Dusk till Dawn
(A Small scene before John Dory comes into frame)

John mentally slapped himself. “Nice going, idiot.” He sighs before sitting down. He sighs as he leaned forward a bit. Soon, a photo fell from his hair as he caught as his breath held for a moment.
It was a photo of him and his brothers. He felt his mouth going dry as he stared right at it. He thinks about everything that happened and remembers what he had promised Branch. Branch. His youngest brother. Tears started to weld up in his eyes. His emotions finally caught up to him as he stared at the photo in his hand. He hoped that their grandmother was now taking care of him.
“If happiness was a tangible thing” JD’s voice was soft as he continued to sing. “It would be you,” he smiles at the thought of Branch. He does bring happiness to him. “If you'd have told me the feeling you'd bring, I'd think it untrue,” JD frowns as he sings. He hates that his brother would think that he wouldn’t care about him at times since he tended to be busy.
“and people search for a wonder like you. All of their lives, you still amaze me after all this time.” JD smiled as he remembered that Branch will always be the light of everyone around him, no matter what.
“ You pull me in like some kind of wind,” He stood up as he headed to change his clothing, while he continued to sing as it was calming his nerves down. “Mesmerized by the hold I'm in, leave you here, I don't wanna…I wanna” He hesitated a moment before continuing the song.
“Promise as one does, I, I will protect you at all costs.” He choked out a sob as he imagined that Branch was with him. He stared as he continued to sing. “Keep you safe here in my arms, I, I will protect you at all costs…At all costs.” He held out his paws as it fazed through the imaginary Branch.

Rosiepuff looked down at Branch, who was in her arms asleep. She smiled at the sight. She had forgotten what this felt like and regretted what she had done to John Dory. “What's pain when I look at you?” She sang softly, “No way I could explain you, even if I tried to, I'll never dream like I used to do.” She rocks his body while walking towards the bed.
“If someone tried to hurt you, I don't see how that could happen. I'd fight for you in ways you can't imagine.” She remembers the times from the troll tree, trying to protect her grand-kids no matter what despite having hatred towards John Dory. “Felt this, no, I haven't, I hope. It would be all right to stay right here beside you” She wanted to keep this promise to Branch and hopefully towards John Dory as well.
Unknowingly, both Rosiepuff and JD were singing at the same time. “ And promise as one does. I, I will protect you at all costs.” Singing towards Branch as they both continued to sing in separate locations. “Keep you safe here in my arms. I, I will protect you at all costs…At all costs”
“If you're ever feeling like you're lost,” John remembered that Branch had come to him every-time he needed help. “I will come find you. Man all fronts, there's no ocean I won't swim across, To be right by you.” Rosiepuff knew that she had to be better but sometimes it was hard but now she needed to be there for Branch, now. “And not just once, here and now I swear on my response. I'll remind you.” John clutched his hands tight as tears fell from his eyes.
“And promise as one does. I, I will protect you at all costs.” John softened his clenched fist as he relaxed his hand as he imagined Branch, once again in his arms. “Keep you safe here in my arms. I, I will protect you at all costs…At all costs” Rosiepuff soon placed Branch onto the bed and smiles as she finishes the last of the song. John sang the last of the song before his arms fell to his side as his tears fell from his eyes. Unknown to JD, Hickory had listened to the song he had sung.

Blind John Dory
I don’t know why but for some reason, I think John Dory going blind during the 20 years is a possibility. Like it’s likely for him to get injured and have scars including having a disability.
I have seen John Dory getting his arm amputated but what if he was blind instead and Rhonda helps guide him sometimes.
Yet, here is the angst part.
John Dory doesn’t remember what his brothers look like anymore since he went blind after a few years in the mountains.
Or what their grandma looked like as well.

I don’t know why but I have been listening to Devil’s Lullaby by Jim Yosef & Scarlett and it kinda reminds me of this au.
Like Either Scooter or Poppy singing to a new troll, that stumble upon them, and warning them about the brothers and that they have eyes everywhere and don’t believe in their lies.
Falling for his lies, angel in disguisе
This verse reminds me of JD as he tells lies to everyone. He did step up when they lost King Peppy and some of the other trolls, so his lies to the point where he even believes the lies himself.
Hear him calling out your name
Branch comes to mind for this verse because I feel like the other brothers would ask him to seek out people to go to them.
Web of illusions, buried solutions
Bruce unironically comes to mind for this verse as he is a matchmaker of illusions of love that he didn’t know the outcomes of it.
Fight the raging hurricane
Floyd knows he has to be calm. He is fighting his own rage to keep himself from lashing out. He saw the truth but decided to keep it to himself.

Inspired by the movies; Bubble & the hunger games but mostly more on the Hunger Games

- Every Trolls are forced by [Redacted] in forming districts or villages of different trolls.
- Mount Rageous is the wealthiest, most technologically advanced of all the regions. It supplies the most resources to the [Redacted] including going without punishment at times. (combined of District 1 and 3) known as Region 1
- Volcano City is the second wealthiest as they have the power and weapons since they can manipulate the things around them order to get on the well graced of the [Redacted]. They also control the livestock as the Rock trolls are natural hunters. (Combined of District 2, 5 and 10) known as Region 2
- Techno Reef was considered useless at first, towards the [Redacted], but eventually they had found a use for them. They are to supplied fishing as a way for them to live. Is considered the third wealthiest of the regions. (District 4) known as Region 3
- Vibe City has always been progressive for the [Redacted]. As they provide transportation in regards of the ‘contestants’ during the games at all time despite them being very calm and collected. (District 6) Known as Region 4
- Symphonyville has been subjected into creating fabric as they mostly keep to themselves at all times. This also makes them the fourth wealthiest of all of the regions. They are well loved by the [Redacted]. (District 8) known as Region 5
- Lonesome Flats handles the grains and the agricultural products as they are very well suited for the jobs. They are a well adjusted environment and well equipped to maintain their placed as the fifth wealthiest and the second favorite of the [Redacted]. (Combined District of 7, 11) known as Region 6
- Bergen Town handles lumber and mining as that’s was they were good for in the eyes of [Redacted]. They are one of the poorest regions ever as they are mostly miserable. (Combine of District 9 and 12) known as Region 7
- Pop Village have been isolated for a long time including after escaping from Bergen Town (Region 7). The [Redacted] never gotten a chance to see them before a disaster occurred in cutting of Region 8 from the rest of the world but that didn’t stop them at all. (District 13) known as Region 8
The Capital is placed between, Region 4, 5, and 6 as the [Redacted] are known to highly favored those three regions the most.
Brozone Placement + Poppy and Viva
- John Dory stayed in Region 8 w/ Branch after the split of Brozone. Poppy also resides in Region 8.
- Bruce resides in Region 4 on a little island in the region called Vacay Island.
- Clay and Viva resides in Region 7 in an abandoned placed that the Bergens don’t used anymore.
- Floyd resides in Region 1 as he was held captive for a bit before escaping and living in a well adjusted Troll community in Region 1.

This are the only ones that I can think of at the moment for which trolls character that matches with the hunger games characters. You guys can requests/asks me for which other characters that fit perfectly with the hunger games characters.
Also, I love the hunger games so much decided that Katniss kinda reminds me of John Dory since they both would do anything to protect their younger siblings.

Isolated!Au
(Haven’t decided which one yet)
(Mind you this all is before the movie)
- What if instead of John Dory receiving the letter. It was Branch that went to find Floyd. (Poppy tagged along)
- Went to Mount Rageous, only to see Floyd in a Diamond prison. Branch is convinced that he could get him out. (Similar how JD was trying to break the diamond in the movie)
-Then Floyd tries to convince Branch, what he must do. This irritates Branch to no end. So, Poppy spoke to him and managed to convince him to gather his other brothers.
- Clay was first found. This in turn had Viva and Poppy found out about being sisters early. (Viva does go along until much later)
- Then of course Bruce is the second to be found. (Slightly more harder since JD isn’t there to provide a postcard but alas, they still managed to find him, somehow.)
- JD wasn’t found at all. It’s like he was gone. This irritated Clay and Bruce to know end and that irritation spread to Branch as well. So, they went back to Mount Rageous only for them to be captured but Branch had managed to get Poppy to escape and in turn Poppy went on a mission to find JD.
(Now onto the plot of the movie, somewhat.)
- Poppy wandered a bit for a while until she managed to get to Bergen town and stayed for the Wedding until she can get an idea of how to find JD.
-The wedding went as planned but without Branch.
-After the wedding the ground began to rumble only for an Armadillobus to appear.
-Noticing the creature panicking, Poppy tries to calm it down only for it to grab her and totally trollnapped her.
-The creature brought her to a cave where a lonesome troll resides. Poppy soon realized that the creature brought her to JD (Let’s just say she took a while to figure out who the troll is.)
-Poppy soon explained to JD what happened to his brothers in turned JD looked at her and said “Why does it mattered? I know they don’t want me around.”
-Noticing the mood, Poppy tries to convince JD that his brothers need his help.
-Eventually, she does and they headed out to save them. This in turned made them run into Viva, King Gristle Jr and Queen Bridget tagged along.
- John Dory is very out of touch with the whole social thing and distance himself away from them to the point where no one noticed at all as they were all planning on how to save Branch, Bruce, Clay and Floyd.
- The rest went well (like in the movie) and managed to save everyone.
-Once going back home, it’s where the drama started in which an argument had broke out.

Early 20s John Dory
(Horrible sketch, IK. It’s hard for me to draw trolls for some reason, but I’ll try and draw a better version of it.)
This is just a concept art for Time-Travel! JDs
For 20s JD, he looks more of a teenager as he was very underweight at the time despite being an adventurer. I feel like JD used to wear shoes but as time went on, he decided not to wear them any more.
For how he went grey, it’s basically like on and off type of thing, to the point where he created a lasting effect on him but as he grew older, he gotten better in hiding the long lasting effects of it.
It’s different for every troll when they turn grey. For John Dory, since he constantly went in and out of being grey, the color stayed a lot longer and faded slowly.

Evil Thoughts ^^
So, I am having very evil thoughts about some John Dory Ideas.
Like what if, Time-Travel John Dory. This idea came to me about the worm holes in the Trolls: The Beat goes on. Like what if 20s or mid 30s John Dory went forward/Backwards in time, like they switch places. If 20s John Dory, he would be in his mid life crisis mindset and maybe a bit feral but would be in shock at seeing his family being older than him making him the youngest with a guilt conscious on his mind. I like the idea that JD was gray for a bit when he was exploring and adventuring so, he is gray when he travelled into the future. If 30s John Dory, he would’ve try and save their grandma but ultimately fail in doing so but he tries to make it up by taking care of Branch and becoming a right hand man for King Peppy. He would also went out to get his brothers back as well and apologize to them.
Looks: 20s JD, would look like a twink. To me, JD wouldn’t have that much to eat and would be considered very underweight and look very skinny and scrawny. He looks the same as when he had left Branch but gray and seems to be glaring at others often than not, keeping a very noticeable distance between others including his brothers.
For 30s JD, looks like his canon self but as time goes on, he dawns a more exhausted look to himself. He would be constantly staring off to the distance. He wears the same clothing as his canon else but would have to change it up a bit.
Extra Info: TT!20s JD is a menace. He loves to cause trouble as he is very used to it as he has lived in the forest for awhile but he does double down when he was taken into his now ‘older’ brothers and was learning how to be civil with the trolls of pop village.
TT!30s JD on the other hand, is old. He is considered to be his brothers father which he didn’t mind and neither does his brothers, now sons. He wanted to mend the relationship that he himself felt responsible for breaking the bond, as brothers and as their father.

Or What if a Time-Loop Au of where John Dory entered a worm hole in which he was struck by a weird light and he was suddenly back in his old body and decided to try an change the past but in doing so, he created time-loops in which certain events happened instead of what would’ve happened. Like each Aus that are created are time-loops that Time-Loop JD created but everytime a new loop is created the previous loop is still implanted into his mind making him even more depressed, anxious, wary, confused and distrustful towards others. The Time-Loop either resets when JD dies or if one of his brothers dies.
Looks: John Dory would look the same as his young canon self but as the time-loop progresses, he starts to change himself. He is more tired looking, dawns different article of clothing from each time-loop that went by, has an exhausted look in his eyes as he stares off to the distance. He even stops eating at one point and gotten skinny and underweight. Scars are littered around his body, from times that he died during the time-loops.
Extra Info: TL!JD is very forgetful. He sometimes forgets about time-loops where he dies instead of grandma or Branches Dies instead. It’s an endless loop of time. Sometimes they are short but sometimes they are long. The longs ones, are the ones that hit him the hardest as he would always remember them. Always.

The fact that I thought up of this is uncanny as, I had just remembered in Trolls: The beat goes on, in one of the episodes, they were sucked into a wormhole in which anything is possible so, I decided to make something from that knowledge. Also, I would think that John Dory, would’ve had encounters of wormholes from time to time but wouldn’t be able to go through into exploring one since he mostly didn’t have the time or Rhonda would’ve stopped him from going through.
