There’s some obvious improvement, but I’m still kind of pleased with the one on the left, despite it looking very washed out (plus, I drew that one before I had my retractable eraser, which is an absolute must for drawings this small!)

Mini McCoy drawing I did in the note space of May 5th in my 2023 diary, which is when I watched “Star Trek TOS - S01E15: Shore Leave” for the second time.

I only drew him recently, despite having watched the episode eight months ago! At least that means I can post it around Easter though, because for me the episode always feels Easter-y with how sunny it is and of course the White Rabbit’s appearance.

This drawing was the bane of my existence for a while. It took me 10 days to complete from start to finish! Ok, so I wasn’t drawing on every one of those 10 days, but this still took me way longer than it should have for its size. I don’t know what was so hard about it exactly, I had to constantly alter the jawline and eyes, and don’t get me started on the mouth! I think the angle was a difficult one for any face, but for some reason Doctor McCoy was another level. I never draw guidelines for my diary doodles because they’re so small, I just free draw the outlines, but with this one I could’ve done with having some guidelines. And of course, I struggle with blending colour, especially for skin tones as well. But, after all that, I am fairly pleased with how he came out. Thank goodness.

Happy Easter! 🐇

Easter Sunday and daylight savings happened to land on the same day in the UK, so I had a sudden bout of inspiration yesterday to draw in my diary the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland and use the tiny clock symbol as his pocket watch!

A DTIYS challenge by @mary_dimary on Instagram that I decided to participate in.

It was a challenge, because I find it difficult to not copy exactly what I see and be original, and also drawing with colour, so I decided to push myself to do it. I now remember why I hate using colour!

Mini Nurse Chapel sketch I drew in the note space of June 14th in my 2023 diary.

Even though I watched “Star Trek TOS - S01E07: What Are Little Girls Made Of?” In June last year, I only drew this over the last week (as usual).

Anyway, it’s one of my favourite episodes, and is (unfortunately) the only one where Nurse Chapel plays a significant part.

I hate drawing in colour, especially skin tones 🥲 but this one didn’t come out too bad (I can get away with it not being 100% accurate because she’s so small 🤫)

I always try to write the episode title in the colours I associate with that particular episode, so I tried to make them similar to Ruk’s colour scheme.

Some of my friends and I stayed on Dartmoor for three days in late January to do some hiking. One of our leaders brought a scrapbook for us to draw in, so I drew one of the Dartmoor ponies we encountered.

I also hate drawing without a reference but luckily I took load of photos of the ponies that we saw.

Little sketch of Countess Marya Zaleska from “Dracula’s Daughter” 1936 I drew in the note space of March 12th in my 2023 diary, as that was the day I first watched the film.

Despite the fact I watched it a year ago, I only drew it in January this year, because I kept putting it off for other projects, etc. This is the longest I’ve left it so far to wait to draw something!

The jawline was a right pain and I had to keep readjusting it for some reason. Also, the title went a bit wonky, but it’s hard drawing so small!

Mini Frankenstein’s Monster I drew in the note space of June 11th and Bride of Frankenstein in July 2nd of my 2023 diary. Those were the days I watched each of those movies for the second time.

Despite having watched them in June/July last year, I only drew the Monster in early January this year and the Bride in late February. A lot of the drawings in my 2023 diary were/will be drawn this year, because of something called procrastination.

Annoyingly the first nose for the Bride looked the best, but then I did something that made it look wrong, and after a lot of tampering, I got it looking acceptable and had to settle with that. I was really pleased with how the title font came out, though.

Well, look at that, I’ve actually posted something! I joined Tumblr in May 2023, so this post is way overdue 😂

A first post is important in my opinion, so I had to think of something good to draw. A dragon seemed appropriate, as I always tend to use them in my usernames.

The reason it took so long for me to post something, is because it took me a long time to actually start this drawing and even longer to finish it (started in October 2023, finished yesterday!)
