rachel and timothy: “you should get married”

me, internally: “do i really want to”

me: “oh right if i get married i can have a baby of my own!!”

the problem is all the guys my age at church are kind of lame. like not even in a religion way they’re just boring!! i mean it doesn’t help that it’s a small church so there aren’t many of them but still! like we have:

“let me tell you about ~field hockey~ because i am an ~athlete~”

“have you heard the good news of standardized test prep”

“do you like sitcoms? well too bad because you get to hear about them anyway”

creepy sexual harassment guy who keeps trying to get the two of us alone

“i have three hobbies and two of them are starcrows one and starcrows two”

i guess not all the problems are that they’re boring, sometimes the problem is something else, but still. how do i find decent people to date in gilead? “likes mystery shows” can’t just be a canada thing! “likes photography” can’t just be a canada thing! “likes being married to someone who will bake cookies for him” is probably more of a thing here! why is this so hard??

oh man, i was super into pokemon when i was little, i didn’t bring my cartridges with me to gilead or i’d offer to trade some of my old legendaries over the ngts

if they’re both getting copies there’s a trick you can do where one person starts a new game, picks a starter, catches one more pokemon, and then trades the starter to the other game and then when you’ve done that twice per starter they trade one of them back and then you can end up with all three

Mingshao wants the new Pokémon game (she can’t decide if she wants East for Darion and Dolphay or West for Lemaser and Peapodd, apparently you can’t get them in the same game), which has a pinyin localization (Gardenia taught her to read pinyin even though I am a little worried it will make characters harder later). I said I thought she might find a way to make Minghui sad with it. She said it was all Mingtiao and she had nothing to do with it, and I said she’s older and if Mingtiao is being mean she shouldn’t help. So we’ll see if that helps.

Update: She got Minghui to ask for the other one, so Minghui is getting West and Mingshao’s getting East and they will have to trade if they want all those Pokémon!

algebra geometry algebra 2 precalc is the normal order? they were called different things in some provinces and I think some of them did it in weird orders but it's not like you're going to do geometry before algebra

i turned fifteen in ninth grade, when I was doing geometry like a normal person

i guess sophomore year I started out still 15 and i did algebra 2 which is basically easy precalc? but precalc isn't actually very much like calculus

today in bible study we talked about the ten commandments. one of them is "honour thy father and thy mother" and i asked if that meant god thought i should have stayed with my parents and rachel said that i was honoring them by doing the right thing, which is more honorable than not doing that, but i looked it up and apparently some people think it means to obey your parents so now i'm kind of confused on what christians think i'm supposed to be doing

well probably you aren't gendervoid then, but there are lots of ways to be nonbinary without being gendervoid. lots of enbies experience dysphoria, or want to be called by gender-neutral pronouns, or don't like it when people call them gendered words, but not all of them and sometimes cis people can do some of those things too

sexual orientation is who you're sexually attracted to, like who you'd want to have sex with, romantic orientation is who you're romantically attracted to, like who you'd want to date. for most people they're the same but not always.

you just go with what feels right! i think people are supposed to just have an internal sense of what they are? like i know i'm a girl

well if you like both then you aren't only attracted to specific sexes, you're attracted to sex characteristics, which is different

I want to go to a gay bar but I’m worried that I’m going to see a cute guy at the gay bar and he’ll think I’m not interested just because I’m a lesbian!
