Your blog was recommended just now and I just wanted to say I know where you've been and I sympathize. It's just awful when your baby is sick and there's really nothing you can do but just wait. It's pretty futile advice, but just try not to zero in on worst case scenarios. You and Sophie are in my thoughts and I really hope that whatever is happening is manageable and that Sophie is okay

Thanks so much! We rushed her to the vet again yesterday morning and luckily her culture came in early but she had no crystals in her urine and her pH was pretty much normal but she was, you know, peeing blood and straining and in pain all night so the doctor gave us this medicine to squirt on her gums for a pain killer (and she got drunk af yesterday) and a different two-week antibiotic than she has had in the past and prescription wet food in case it might be a kidney stone, since one kidney is a bit smaller than the other. Hopefully this fixes the problem, otherwise we’re probably going to have them take a look at her kidneys. They tried to do that before but there was air in the colon so they couldn’t really tell anything from it. :(

Thank you!!! I really hope she’s okay. This isn’t the first time we’ve found blood in her urine, so right now we’re just trying to figure out if this is just reoccuring UIs because she’s an older kitty, or if it’s indicative of a larger problem. :(

Sophie isn't doing so well. :( We are on vacation and we noticed that she had bled in her urine not only at the edge of her litterbox but also in the bathtub. We managed to get her into a vet yesterday and we are waiting on the results of the bloodwork to see what's wrong. Please keep Sophie in your thoughts and prayers!
