BRAZILIAN HETACITIES CONTENT!!!!
I was talking about Rio de Janeiro (city) with my friends, and my friend reminded me of one of the BIGGEST crimes Rio committed. He stole our traditional food, Acarajé. 💀
Salvador is cursing RioCity, SPCity is just enjoying himself cuz he has a complicated relationship with RioCity. Ahhahahaa.
As a proud citizen of Bahia, I am angry so fucking angry.
Also, do you know that blue parrots from RIO? 🥰 THEY'RE OURS, NOT RIO'S, NEITHER AMAZONA'S THEY'RE FROM BAHIA'S CAATINGA BIOME
Tumblr media
STOP STEALING FROM US RIO, THEY EVEN STOLE SALVADOR'S PLACE AS A CAPITAL
AND NOW OF OUR MF ACARAJÉ 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠☠
CHARACTERS:
Salvador (capital of Bahia) is mine
São Paulo (capital of São Paulo), Rio de Janeiro (capital of Rio de Janeiro) are of my friend Let, and RJCity is shared with Juh
EX-BRAZILIAN CAPITALS FIGHT: SALVADOR VS RIOCITY
/reminding you that this is just a silly joke, there is no hate, ofc, but I am ofc pissed off about the Acarajé thing dkdnsksjjs

ANOTHER OLD ART FORGOT TO POST
I love the idea of this picture actually, but I didn't like the result. I should remake it another time.
This was inspired by the Noh Play "Lampião Noh Inferno" or "Hell Says Noh". It was an interesting Play, and even tho I am not very used to the Noh Theater, I loved it a lot.
I also enjoyed it pretty much cuz it mixes my culture (Northeast culture) and Japanese culture. And it was a wonderful mix!
🍁 PLOT:
Brazil (Mayara) is dressed like Maria Bonita, while Japan (Kiku) is dressed as Lampião of the Noh Play.
The plot of the Noh: Lampião wanted to enter Hell and started to search for his wife. Fought demons and Satan himself to find Maria Bonita.
In my drawing interpretation, Kiku got exhausted after fighting so much to find Mayara. As he finally realized she could be in Heaven.
In the end, Mayara comes as an Angel of petals to him and embraces him in her warm arms. However, she was a demon herself. She just attracted and brought him to hell. (Sadly) Kiku found her, and now, they're together and forever (burning) in Hell. 👺
This Noh play is an adaptation of a Cordel (traditional literature of Brazilian Nordeste) called "A Chegada de Lampião no Inferno".
Here you can watch the Hell Says Noh:

Here is a most known interpretation of "A Chegada de Lampião no Inferno":

You're state ocs are so cute 🤧💕 they look really adorable 🫶 hope to see more of them 🇧🇷
Question: how are their relationships with Maya? So they get along with her or do some have conflict with her? Are there any of them that don't get along with other states? 🤔
OMG I TOOK SO LONG TO REPLY I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON
Thank you so much, my dear! It means a lot to me 🥺💖 I am glad you liked them!
I will give a small glimpse on their relationship.
In a nutshell, they share a pretty chaotic relationship! 😳 Brazil has a history of internal conflicts featuring her states. And moments where she had to confront them and vice versa. Let's say... She wasn't very... comprehensive with them during those moments. ☝️🤓 (I will bring up these topics in future posts about Brazilian History).
May has a complicated relationship with some of her states, but this doesn't mean they hate her or something extreme like that. Some of them may have a perception that Mayara is too childish and irresponsible to be a representative of Brazil.
I believe that Maya's States that may get well along with her are Rio de Janeiro/Rafael (since she basically lives with him, in RJ city) and Bahia/Gabriela, who took care of her when she was a child. Fun fact, they both were her capitals at some moment in the Brazilian Lore haha (Bahia/Salvador, Rio de Janeiro/City of Rio de Janeiro), and they both are the most influential characters in the cultural aspect.
However, I don't consider May and Brasília (her current capital) close enough to establish a strong relationship Country-Capital as she did with Rio, for example. They mostly meet for political and formal meetings/events. Mayara is not very attached to Brasília, in my opinion. And I don't think Brasília minds at all, she is always too busy to care for something so trivial. She does her job, and that's enough. I HC May calls Brasília "corrupt Brat" and Brasília calls her "incompetent air-head".
Also, let's not talk about the problematic separatist movement in the South Brazilian region. 😶
Mayara's and São Paulo complex relations too, let's digger deeper into it next time 👁👄👁
The states does have some regional rivalities. As always. The regions are always fighting each other for something, Northerns vs Southerns, etc etc.
And of course, they've got (kinda healthy? or kinda unhealthy?) rivalities. Rio de Janeiro vs São Paulo, Bahia vs Pernambuco, sometimes, everyone vs Rio de Janeiro, everyone vs São Paulo, Pernambuco vs everyone, everyone vs South states. Ahaha. They're fighting each other all the time. They must chill, somehow. 😭 the only thing these motherfuckers agree on is bullying Acre, claiming that he isn't real. 😭

Hi, I love your art! What program do you use to draw?
Hello there! I am a remaining user of Paint Tool SAI 2 ❤

I customize my brushes so they can look prettier and texturized. 😊 SAI is not the best art program, but it is my favorite one.

Brazil is a difficult country to be represented due to its large ethnic and cultural diversity. As we do not have only one traditional clothing, I decided to add to her casual clothing some cultural aspects and details.
Mayara is a parda (mestiza/mixed) woman. She has long dark curly hair and bright hazel eyes (they're not green) with a small mark below her left eye (Portugal's influence).
(The images are some examples of Brazilian women that inspire Mayara's appearence).
Tumblr media
Her basic clothing is composed of a white lace blouse and a tiny turban made of floral green chita cloth.
She wears simple jeans shorts with a guaiaca (gaucho belt) decorated with an Aparecida buckle.
Her earrings are based on indigenous (povos originários) earrings, made of beads and feathers.
Her sandals are made of leather; they're traditional sandals worn in the Northeast region of Brazil.

Important fact about Brazil and France.
During 1961-1963, Brazil almost declared war against France because of... lobsters. French vessels were illegally fishing up lobsters in Brazilian waters. Fortunately everything was sorted peacefully.
This is the funniest historical event in Brazilian history for me. Actually it's a thing that would fit Hetalia perfectly.
Just imagine France stealing some lobsters and almost causing a war because of it. Beautiful.

🇧🇷: I am amazing, yes? My football isn't dead. Did you watch the matches? Did you?!
🇱🇧 (forced to wear the new bleached Brazilian Jersey): I think you are overreacting about the friendly matches. But I will support you anyway! (You aren't even classified for the WC yet...)
Lebanon, what a nice... friend 👁👄👁 anyway, I may ship it or I may not... who knows, after all? 😈
I drew Maya with short hair, I think she looks pretty cute and modern like this. Even tho, I love her super long hair. 🥺
It took me 5 years to be confident enough to create a Lebanon oc. I always wanted to Brazil and Lebanon interacting, they're old friends 😭
I am using refs for more dynamic poses, I hope you guys are noticing it 🙏🥺

*A wild Principado appears*
🌻 — A little angel, the angel of Brazil. Terra de Santa Cruz. A dove who became a Santa do Pau Oco. Crowned Empress and a Patriazinha.
Just Mayara (or Beatriz, by Portugal) in her "Principado" days. With white ipês flowers, decorating her beautiful braids.

Oh, look who won today's match 😘 (I literally had no faith in Brazilian team)
Tumblr media
Some historical hetalia content featuring my lovely Brazil oc (aka Mayara) lol 👌 oh, and there is england too
I just love 2reign!May, hehe, I love drawing my beautiful south american empress!
[The Christie Question: 1862–1865]
▪️The trigger for the conflict was the sinking of the English ship "Prince of Wales" in Rio Grande do Sul in 1861, a ship that was bound for Buenos Aires;  already in 1862 there was also the arrest of drunk English sailors by soldiers in Rio de Janeiro. But there were other disagreements between Brazilians and British during the time.
The ambassador William Christie (who was already enraged by these sporadic events between Brazilians vs English) demanded a financial refund for the looted cargo of the ship from the Brazilian Imperial Government; plus the release of the drunk rowdy sailors and an apology. There was the seizure of Brazilian merchant ships by the Royal Navy at the request of Christie. And they would only release the Brazilian ships if there was a formal apology from Brazil.
But Brazil denied it.
All of this culminated in the diplomatic crisis of Brazil-England. This issue soon had to be mediated by Belgium, as Brazil really did not want its sovereignty to be affected by the requests of the English ambassador (in this case, the representative of England in Brazil).  Belgium decided in favour of Brazil and England didn't accept so they broke the diplomatic relations; later the British Empire recognized its inconvenience and the countries reestablished the diplomatic relations.
With a neutral eye on this whole situation, we see the impasse between the South American Empire and the European Imperial power that, in parts, was also generated by the Brazilian nationalist and anti-British feelings. The "Brazilian honor and dignity" had to be protected.
Some authors consider that it was almost a war between Brazil and England. (Copied it from my instagram lol)
My drawing was inspired by this allegory!
