Veiled woman with high hat keeping goats - Haḍramawt, Yemen
Those women live in the Hadramout area, a very dry one in summer time… They keep the sheeps and the goats under a hard sun in the dried wadis. The tradition is to wear the full black dress, the gloves, the veil, and also this giant hat. The fact that it is so high allows the air to stay fresh above the head. © Eric Lafforgue

Dr. Katherine (Kay) Fowler-Billings was an American naturalist and geologist. She is commonly known for being one of the earliest female geologists. In 1926 she dressed as a man to join a geologic expedition. She mapped >500 square miles of the Laramie Mountains alone in 2 Summers. She fundamentally changed our understanding of the Rockies.
She did not know how to use that gun.
