They’re rats, Mohg!
The rats of the sewer were large enough to be hunted. And hunt them the brothers did - usually, with limited success. The rodents were tough, mean; they squealed and fought and Godfrey told of their bites and scratches that carried awful diseases. But for the long weeks between Father’s visits, rat meat was all they could rely on.
When an extra plump one settled down to make a home of the grated annex near their nest, Morgott readied his knife, mouth watering and stomach rumbling at the prospect of such an easy meal. It looked weak, struggling and waddling around lamely. Perfectly helpless. Enough meat for a week, and that winter pelt would make for an extra fluffy blanket.

Mohg: *flops a whole ass deer carcass on the ground in front of his babies* Today's enrichment exercise will be ... finger-painting!
*babies paint a literal bunch of squiggkly lines and handprints*
Mohg: (gasping, simply glowing) Geniuses whose talons have borne a new blood sigil! Quick, Miquella! Amend these masterpieces to our dynastic heraldry at once!!

Mimic’s Veils
The attendant handed them both delicate collars; frilly things made of white lace and tied with dainty gold ribbon. She called them mimic’s veils; enchanted props that housed glamour magics. Advising, with very official tact; ye must wear them to conceal thyselves. Thy horns will attract undue attention. Court cannot be held whilst thou weareth the visage of animals. Let it bestow a phantom grace.
And she would not dress them - how humbling, to assume that animals would know how to properly tie a bow.

Okay I love all of this, but I started writing and the plot is all unhappiness, no happy endings. Basically a dark remix of By Love Bound? Just really bad stuff happening to Mohg at a young age, Mohg doing a horrible but kinda understandable thing, then a timeskip.
Ooh I wanna write A/B/O Mohg with basically anyone. So basic, but it has so many elements I love for Mohg.
Fun fact: By Love Bound was supposed to be one, but using the terms alpha or omega felt so out of place I just went fuck it and gave Morgott barbs instead of a knot.
yeeeeeeeeeesssssssss i've been more-or-less secretly hoping for omegaverse mohg because, well, A/B/O's got all the things i like >:3 and i'm a slut for omegas who aren't skinny, delicate, pretty little bishounen, especially if their alpha is smaller than them. there's something about a smaller alpha not only topping and breeding the bigger omega that just kills me, but also the smaller one taking the role of the protector, the pamperer, and the bigger one being treated as this beautiful, precious thing that needs to be taken care of, protected and spoiled? good shit 👌
sorry i'm gonna babble for a while because omegaverse mohg is something i've thought about a lot lmao
first of all, i know i'm probably in the minority but um. i actually like it if the big, atypical omega is insecure about and even ashamed of being an omega? specifically if it's due to cultural and/or societal expectations: it's not that the omega thinks there's something wrong with being one, they just know that they """should""" be an alpha and that everyone assumes that they're an alpha based on their appearance/size, and they're afraid of people finding out that they're not (possibly because they were shamed for it in the past by, say, their parents). but once they find a non-judgmental alpha who loves and adores them exactly the way they are, they start
so specifically in mohg's case, i could imagine it being somewhat of a disappointment for godfrey that one of his sons is an omega on top of being an omen, which could lead to him favouring morgott (who is an alpha, as godfrey thinks is appropriate for a son of his, omen or not), with mohg developing a lot of insecurity and internalized shame and hatred about his own omega-ness (the whole growly but clearly fake lord of blood voice he does? overcompensation). like regardless of how hard he might try to impress godfrey and earn his respect and affection, he could never """make up""" for being an omega, he will always be lesser in his father's eyes. and no matter how hard he tries to hide being an omega and even succeeds in normal circumstances, when heat/rut strikes, he is completely at biology's mercy and hates it and does his best to isolate himself before heat so no one can see him like that
(yet on the other hand he wants children, but has resigned himself to never having any, because that would require someone finding out that he's an omega, and he'd rather die)
for morgott/mohg, i kinda like the idea that morgott doesn't know/remember that mohg is an omega, and doesn't fully understand why mohg has such a negative opinion and memories of their father. sure, he remembers that godfrey used to favour him for some reason, but surely it wasn't that bad? and mohg knows that he doesn't know/remember, and does his damnedest to keep it that way lest his brother loses what little respect and love he still holds for him - he's convinced that if morgott remembers/finds out, he'll be ashamed and disgusted of him like their father was, and he'll lose the most important person in his life. yet in the throes of his heat, all he can think of is morgott above him, inside him, filling him with his seed
for miquella/mohg i have less ideas, just the general same "mohg is ashamed of being an omega and tries to keep it a secret even though he wants nothing more than to be bred by miquella and have his babies", maybe miquella's status as the god of abundance - aka fertility - triggers mohg's heat unexpectedly, and oh how beyond happy miquella is about his beautiful, lovely new consort's status as an omega, it's beyond anything he could've wanted and does not make mohg any less in his eyes

my prediction for elden ring DLC is 'beach episode', where all the bosses are just hanging out on the beach in their swimwear, suntanning, sipping tropical drinks and playing beach volley, and you can fight them again by challenging them to a friendly rematch (but they'll be in their swimwear)

an angsty mohg/morgott scenario
the adult omen twins are brought up from the shunning grounds to defend leyndell, either by godfrey or someone else (i would lean towards godfrey, though i'm not sure how that would work timeline-wise), and it doesn't take long until it's noticed that they're a little Too Close. and godfrey tells them to cease such things, that it's improper and unacceptable behavior for brothers. and mohg goes "fuck that, you don't get to tell us how to live and what to do after everything", but morgott takes godfrey's words to heart, either because he just wants his father's love and acceptance that badly, or because godfrey manages to convince him that what they're doing and how they are with mohg is wrong. and because he wants to make it clear to godfrey that nothing inappropriate is happening, that no wrong sort of "fraternizing" is taking place, he starts keeping his distance from mohg far more than necessary, and mohg is incredibly hurt by it: not only is his brother bending to the will of those who abandoned them and shouldn't have any say in their lives, breaking things off with mohg so easily, but on top of that he's practically avoiding him now. he feels abandoned and hurt by how morgott, after everything the brothers went through together, how they only had each other since they were children, has thrown him away so easily and seemingly with no regrets. did he mean so little to morgott all this time? and while he can fight well enough, he can't use golden order incantations like morgott can, and he is defiant, disobedient and irreverent unlike morgott, so he has to endure his punishments for his worsening behavior (a lot of which is definitely intentional and spiteful rebelling and refusal to submit like his brother did) alone and without support while morgott gains godfrey's favour as the good, obedient brother.
i don't even know where to go with this, i just got the idea of the brothers having different reactions to being told to quit it, and the wedge that would drive between them. and yet i still love happy endings, so i also want morgott to realize that he's not happy this way, that he misses his brother, and that he wants what they had back more than he wants godfrey's approval and respect.
or perhaps mohg manages to escape, finally giving up on morgott changing his mind and coming back to him, and returns underground alone. perhaps morgott doesn't even notice until much later. perhaps prior to that morgott made one last secret visit to his brother, but when he afterwards told mohg that it was just a one-off thing that wouldn't happen again and no one could find out about it, mohg finally had enough and, refusing to be morgott's dirty little secret so that he could keep their father's favour, escaped. or perhaps he escapes once he realizes he's with a child, knowing that nothing good will come out of it: the baby could get killed, mohg himself could get killed, even morgott could get killed unless he denied being the father, which while understandable is not something mohg wants to stick around to witness.

thinkin about morgott and mohg in the shunning grounds don't mind me
there's something about mohg like this - belly heavy with a child, teats swollen with milk, and the way he smells (god, the smell) - that is driving morgott crazy. it takes all of his self-control to wait until mohg wakes up in the morning, to wait until he can part his legs and push inside and god the way his brother is always ready for him, how he purrs when morgott fucks him, it is too much sometimes.
it is so hard to be gentle. he has no intention nor wish to hurt either mohg or the child he is carrying, but every base instinct of his is screaming to claim mohg as his, to fuck him hard enough to mark him with bruises, to let everyone know that he is his, his alone. but gentle he stays, one hand on his brother's round belly as the other grips his hip, keeping him steady as he slowly - maddeningly so, for both of them - slides in and out of him. and mohg is so sensitive, even more so now that he is carrying, and every moan and keen of his is almost like a sob as he begs and pleads for morgott to give him more, faster, harder.
when he has to leave the nest to hunt, mohg insists on coming along, not content to stay behind and be idle, and truly morgott doesn't mind: being able to see him, knowing where he is and that he is safe puts his mind at ease much more than were mohg to stay behind. and though he is more careful and less reckless now, his savagery is still nothing short of breathtaking to behold as he takes down and tears into his prey, licking the blood off his claws, popping an eyeball into his mouth like a delicacy, and once the hunt is finished, morgott can't help but take him once more right there amidst the carnage.
other omen approach them sometimes, perhaps drawn by that maddening scent of mohg's, perhaps by the sounds of their hunting (or mating), but morgott makes sure they never get too close. mohg is his, his alone, and anyone wishing to move in on him has to deal with his brother and mate first. and if mohg is savage when he hunts, morgott defending what is his is nothing short of vicious. one bold but foolish omen once tried to challenge morgott, and none have since; after what morgott did to the contender, the other omen know now to back off at his first growl.
back at the nest, their bellies filled with fresh meat, they lay down to rest, morgott nuzzling his face against the back of mohg's neck. and mohg takes his brother's hand and lays it on his stomach, intertwining their gnarled fingers. "yours", he purrs, and morgott can think of no greater happiness.

Note
I had a depressing Morgott/Mohg idea. Basically, Mohg offers himself up to older, bigger Omens in exchange for food. He brings it back, claiming to have hunted it, unaware that Morgott knows exactly what he's doing. Morgott has been following him, hating what he sees but not sure what to do. He doesn't like to think about the fact that he also gets jealous, or that he might have imagined himself being that Omen, the one that brings out all those sounds from Mohg that Morgott hears when he jerks off.
👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 💦 nice
wait, that was supposed to be depressing, not nice. erm. oh nooooo how horrible!
maybe morgott has an advantage when it comes to hunting because of his golden order incantations, which mohg just can't manage to learn no matter how hard he tries and no matter how hard morgott tries to teach him. morgott doesn't blame him, but mohg can see and feel his frustration at his brother's lack of success when it comes to hunting alone. "it's alright, you'll learn", morgott says, meaning the incantations, but mohg just knows - he can feel it deep in his bones - that he can't. but he has to pull his weight somehow. and he's scared of the big, older omens, but nothing's worse than disappointing his brother.

oh my god
Oh my god, this is beautiful and I love it. I love how you write so much! It's exquisite.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll reread this over and over.
Such Shame I Cannot Bear;
This was inspired by an ask I saw on @theslowesthnery’s tumblr, @mothermohg It sounded like it was your idea… lmaoooo =͟͟͞͞(꒪ᗜ꒪ ‧̣̥̇)
There is an abandoned fawn on the gazing hall steps. It tracks bloody footprints and the wood beetles that fall from its withers are carried off by songbirds. A shriveled and wretched little creature, barely a carcass; bones and antlers coated thick with blood. It is bound in rose vines that tie a message around its pitiful neck.
The Veiled Monarch of Leyndell receives it as he does any royal messenger;
