MOOD: SAUDADE
My willful, effervescent youth—it’s delightfully numbing to remember you.
I lust for your deceivingly elegant and pristine ways. You imagined the world like a pool of crystals, and each day you would wade through the vast puddle with your face towards the blushing mauve sky and arms outspread behind you, letting each tiny stone brush your fingertips. Life, through your eyes, only existed in a scintillating mesmeric atmosphere where silky clouds moved in a chaotic slow motion to the tune of your distant laugh. The air saturating your body was always pleasantly conflicted, as chilly as it was warm. It was utterly hydrating, yet everything about your reality was.
My willful, effervescent youth—I’m so lucky to long for you.
I can never entertain the thought of you for enough time, but as long as I dream of you, and I often do, I will be parched.

MOOD: THE DECADE WE DO THE DAMN THING
Coming to you live from the fabulous city of Richmond, this is Moodboard by Mia.
Please come with your ideas, your styles and wit. As a young working lady, I needed a place to share my own thoughts and chaos, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I want this to be a space of empowerment, inspiration, and manifesting into existence the women we want to become. We all have dreams, goals, and ambitions that we have put on hold for an abundance of false excuses we know in our hearts are not justifiable: people who make us unhappy, relationships we exhaust ourselves over, jobs that demand our sanity and soul, and even social media we mindlessly scroll through instead of making a dent on our to-do list.
It is our faults, and it is over. This is the decade we go after what we want, we stop making excuses, and we prioritize us.
I’m already proud of the person I am; she is far better than who she was mere years ago. But I am ready for a change. I can see the person I want to be, the things I want to accomplish, and the places I want to go. If you are like me, stick around. Change will heal as much as it hurts, but it will be damn worth it.
I can’t promise you this will become strictly one type of blog, but I can promise you that I intend to be genuine––a little life advice here, a little style inspiration there, and possibly a dash of wine-tipsy rants over whatever the hell I find relevant. This blog is for me and anyone else who was meant to stumble upon it.
Cheers to all of us. May this be the decade we all commit to ourselves.
