This project really caught my eye, I wasn’t able to see the presentation so I am not certain what the exact purpose is. But, to me, it looks like they took an unused space and created a cool hang out area. It was really interesting to see how it looked before and then what their proposal would make it look like. They also showed the topography of it to show you the sizing of the hills. 

 To me, this project looked really fun to hang out at. It reminded me of when I was younger my friends and I would roll down the biggest hill in our town for hours, just for fun. Even if you are not a kid it still would be a nice place to get back to nature, and if you sit behind the hills you get a sense of privacy. I could see students going there to do homework, families going on picnics, and friends just hanging out there. 

The can of soup is bad scale because it is even larger than a person, when in real life a can of soup would fit in a person’s hand. The second picture shows good scale because even though the book is very small, it is supposed to be. And with the lady holding it in her hand it shows how small it actually is. The last one also has good scale because there is humans in the painting that show how large the building is relatively. 

Experiencing Architectural School Journal Response

I felt like I could REALLY relate to this reading. One of the things I felt was so relatable was when it discussed the workload. I knew coming in that I would have more work than ever but I didn’t expect this. It’s like we finish one big project and then the next day another one is due, it never stops! I also felt validated when they talked about the vocabulary that is needed to be able to talk about architecture. No one tells you that you should know this before coming to college, then you get here and you feel like you’re listening to a whole other language. I also had expected to not have the time to work in college but in the reason it spoke about that, and it made me feel better that I wasn’t the only one with this same problem. Wanting to work but not having the time.
