A Writer's Favorite Pen
Tumblr media
Imagine a pen; not just any pen but your favorite one. The one that provides optimal ergonomic comfort that glides effortlessly across the paper and has been a steadfast companion over numerous musings and creative inspirations. Imagine the pen that serves as more than a mere instrument for it acts as a tacit companion throughout your writing journey. Yes, that pen.
Why did you consider it as your favorite pen? Is it because of its physical qualities? Is it due to its cheapness and affordability? Is there really a reason why you consider it as your favorite pen or plainly, you just like using it?
Well, in my case, I prefer the Faber Castell pens especially when crafting my editorial articles and writing random prompts on my journal. Whether during trainings, workshops, school activities and school press conferences, my black 0.5 tip Faber Castell pen will always be my companion. It’s my favorite, obviously. It’s my favorite pen not because of the smoothness of its nib, the comfort of its grip, or the richness of its ink but due to its intangible connection I formed with it over time, wherein the pen seamlessly becomes an extension of the my soul to my hands—encapsulating several ideas and emotions as I speak through writing.
The bond between a writer and its pen is unimaginable—its uniqueness dives into the depth of the writer’s soul making it incomparable and unexplainable. Every scratch, every blot of ink, and every word inscribed with their pens carries a fragment of their souls. It's a silent witness to the writer's journey—the late-night brainstorming sessions, the moments of capturing such inspirations, the frustration caused by writer's block, and the satisfaction derived from a well-crafted story. That pen is there in times of solitude—in times when the writer is immersed in their own realm and also during the moments of exuberance when a composition is finished. That pen provides them such comfort and familiarity as if it is their old friend that knows them better than anyone else.
Our pens are not just tools that we use to scribble something on our papers. They are our silent companions, our trusted allies that captures our thoughts, feelings, and imaginations and turn them into an incredible piece. Moreover, the next time you pick your favorite pen, reflect upon the voyage you have embarked together, the narratives you have recounted, and the connection you have forged because a pen is not merely a writing instrument, but rather an integral aspect of your identity as a writer.
So, what’s your favorite pen?
