Size matters
( Of cups that is. The kind that hold water )
The glass isn't half full or half empty... it's simply the wrong size.
Alot of people are always looking out for either the ups or downs of life. Always looking on the brightside, or on the downside. I don't think being optimistic or pessimistic really matters because either way you are simply guessing things from the limited range of things you can see. Instead of wishing for the best, or assuming the worst why not simply look at what is?

Hope
Science tells us that everything has a reason, while religion tells us that not everything should need a reason... that miracles can happen. Somewhere inbetween these two ever-conflicting poles there is balance. Because everything has balance.
Inbetween these two things is Humanity. In all it's glory and all it's Destruction and mayham.
The balance is hope. The only thing that is both rational, and irrational at the same time.

I don't really have a 'quote' for this one. Just a thought, that I'd like to share.
The latest episode of 'Doctor Who' was deeply Philosophical. Although this isn't unusual for the Doctor, it was unusual how blunt it was. The doctor didn't give up on Melody Pond / River Song despite everything that she did. Because she was Amy and Rory's daughter? Perhaps. Because she was the daughter of the tardis? Perhaps. Because he knows the River from the future? Perhaps. Or maybe it was something deeper. She also gives him her power of regeneration, but in the end is still the person that is supposed to assasinate him? ( Or so we're lead to believe ) It's something to think about for you fellow Whovians. There are little strings of philosophy littered all through the series. In the the latest season the more memorable themes have been; Greed Loyalty "True love"
I'd like to see if anyone can find any of the many hidden ones <3 But, I'll leave you with this to think about: How much would your risk for someone else?

Yay <3
To my beloved Bri. The first follower and the most important <3
Although things may be hard now, they only get worse when you let them.
This is a classic case of Nietzsche's "If you stare too long into the abyss, the abyss stares back"  But, simpler. The more you stress about something, the more it seems like impending doom.
Don't stress the small stuff, and try to take everything light heartedly. I'm not saying be optimistic, or telling you to become pessimistic. Just take a little bit of stress out of your life.

The brightest light in the darkest shadow is you.
The only person you can let down is yourself. The more you alow other peoples opinions, and judgements weigh you down, the harder it is to find yourself in the tangle of everyone else. Let reason be your only ruler, and allow yourself to be the person you want to be.

A person doesn't realise how important a toe is untill they break one.
Things with great value or importance are often overlooked untill they are gone. This applies to everything from toes to love. Cherish every asset, for eventually everything ends, and all we are left with is memories. Make your Memories something to look back upon with fondness and something to laugh about. Broken toes cause some painful memories.

Puzzles
Everything is a puzzle. It's not nessisarily the peices that matter, or what the completed puzzel is... it's the effort you put into solving the puzzle, and the things you discover along the way.
This is based off of the budhist ideals that you should be present for every moment of your life, and that the question is more important than the awnser.
The harder you look for things, the harder it is to find what you look for.

We always critisize others for things we ourselves do. Even if we don't intend to, or don't realise what we have done.
Try and think back to the last time you critiqued someone else. Think long and hard about the issue, and why it was so important for you to point out the flaw. Then, you should think about things you've done yourself that fall into this 'flaw'. You'll be surprised how often you don't practice what you preach.

Woohoo
Alright, so, I have to admit this layout IS pretty fail. I'll get around to making something better when I have more time.
Yay for first posts ;P
My intention is to post philosophical statements to get people to think. I won't post anything mindboggling or brainninjitsu type things... yet.
So, here goes.
