Please if anyone can spare anything, it's unfortunately looking like he may need steroids or a blood transfusion...I'm really scared for him. I don't want to give up we've come so far.

This is what the vet wrote me this morning. I can only hope he'll start making red blood cells faster on his own but we more than likely won't be that lucky. I hate asking for help so much but I can't continue to afford this but I know Norman is fighting. Please help us get the treatment he deserves.

Hi. I don't normally post here. I do a lot of reblogging but I desperately need help. My best friend, Norman has been hospitalized since Saturday 3/2. I took him to the emergency vet for loss of appetite, sudden weight loss and extreme lethargy. They diagnosed him with diabetes. They hospitalized him and we've struggled getting him well ever since. I got multiple calls at the late hours of the night on Sunday night. He had a really rough night, they had a hard time keeping him alive, they told me he had hard damage to his liver and it could possibly be shutting down. The vet doesn't want to give up on him, but that means I'll have to pay another night of hospitalization including insulin, boarding, IV, medications, and round the clock care from staff. I have already fitted a $12,000 bill for Saturday 3/2-Monday 3/4 and do not have much more to give. This cat means the world to me and has given me a reason to wake up everyday and try. I have and will continue to empty my bank account for him. I don't like asking for help and have done so on any kind of platform but he is so important to me amd I could never live with myself if I didn't try everything possible. Please consider donating if you have any extra and are feeling generous, I appreciate every bit of help more than you'll ever know. Please I just want my baby boy to come home.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. We are very tired (which is why I haven't updated) but all of his treatments were going well. We had a few hiccups here and there but nothing we couldn't handle thanks to the VCA's help. Norman's personality and strength finally started to return and I could finally see my friend again.

So today we had an appointment to have some vitals and blood work done to make sure everything was leveling out. He had a slight fever, but the worst thing was his red blood cells count was dangerously low, basically making him anemic. There's probably 2 things that could be happening.

One, he has an infection or parasite. This would be the best case senario, could be treated well and his body would start making red blood cells faster and keep up.

Or two, he has an autoimmune diseasewhich wpuld be way more complicated to treat. It would require us giving him a blood transfusion. Which is super costly and very scary. They've also talked about giving him a steroid which would be a big risk since he is diabetic. Diabetes and steroids do not mix well.

He is once again staying overnight at the hospital tonight. A blood transfusion would cost me $1400. I am unable to afford this treatment. What was suppose be a simple check up has already cost me over $800 today. Please yall, I will admit it, im literally begging. I know Norman is fighting it, he wants to be here and we've already come so far, he was almost there. Please help me give him that last little push at having a life here with us, he is fighting and so am I.

Hiya! Gonna give another quick update on Norman. Won't be much since I am back at work now. Norman got released yesterday! He is home. He's doing the best he can and so are we. He has to be fed through his etube every 6 hours, insulin every 12 hours, and about 5 different medications that are just spread throughout the day. It's a lot so my boyfriend and I are trying to stagger our work schedules a bit to make sure someone's always there to give him his treatments. It is pretty stressful to be honest but we're not giving up!

Norman had a bit of energy this morning and got to stroll around the house. His walking is a bit wobbly but he's getting around, we just got to get his strength up. Hopefully he'll begin eating himself when he gets a little better and we can get his etube removed soon.

If anyone still wants to donate that would be nice since I still owe a lot of money and will have to continue to have him medicated for awhile. If not that's okay too im just happy to have him through the hardest part. He will also need to go back to the vet to get weekly blood drawings to make sure all his levels are starting to get better and make sure the dosage for the insulin is working right. It might take us awhile to figure out whats right for him.

We're rolling with the punches at this point and trying our very very best! He loves to lay on his scratching post so his little etube doesn't bother him while sleeping.
