Over the past week, I have finished up some more of my Necron warriors from the recruit edition. I have also experimented with a base for them, and I quite like the result.
Lessons learned:
Thinning paints down on a wet palette
Loading the brush with paint
Let your paints dry before applying another layer
Very basic brush control, since most of this paint job was dry brushed
Making photos of miniatures is almost as hard (if not harder) than painting them up

Started with a Necron from the Warhammer 40K Recruit edition I had lying around.
Played around with different paint consistencies on the pallet and see how that applies to the model. And of course a lot dry brushing for applying the metallic paints. All in all, quite happy with the result!

From novice to master
Hey folks, this blog is my attempt at documenting my journey as a mini painter. From (almost) total beginner, to a competent painter.
This is born from the admittedly gut feeling that there isn't much content online about beginners in the hobby, and that people are turned off from painting because their models don't look as good as the box or what they have seen on a tutorial video.
In this blog you'll find the steps I take to increase my skill and technique, miniatures painted to a standard a beginner might achieve, and hopefully an increase in painting quality with every post.
Along the way, I'll explore various techniques, tools and resources that I find helpful.
Whether you're just starting out or you've been painting for a while, I hope this blog serves as both inspiration and guidance, showing that with dedication and practice, anyone can improve their painting skills and create miniatures that they are happy with.
