As we know dungeon meshi has always expressed the importance of food but I think this arc has really solidified that importance of communication in shaping a healthy lifestyle.

Regardless of cultural, religious or racial differences, if your group is neurodivergent, neurotypical, physically disabled or a mix. Whether you're made up of mainly straight, mainly queer etc communication is key to ensuring everyone's on an equal footing in any sort of relationship.

It's the same for at work, in friendships or romantic partnerships, it can all break down if you assume rather than check that you're on the same page.

half-foots are often mistaken for young tallmen or dwarves by people who don’t know about them.

But Chilchuck is like the 6’5” of half-foots. I wonder if he’s not even immune to that in half-foot communities. Like imagine you’re at the market and you see the tallest guy you ever saw. Like “holy shit he’s tall” tall. He’s a head taller than everyone else. APPARENTLY half-foots and tallmen can have fertile children. People probably constantly ask him if he’s half-tallman or half-dwarf. Maybe not dwarf cause he’s so skinny.

Chilchuck is also a middle child of 5 siblings. I wonder if his whole family is like that or if he’s just token beanpole. Man, the whiplash he must’ve felt the first time he went to a more diverse area and everyone started calling him small. no wonder he drinks

just occurred to me there's no way there aren't tons of half-foots in chilchuck's union that have a crush on that man. perhaps mostly in a casual "eh he's a tall serious capable older man who cares abt workers' rights ofc id smash" way but still like. i think mickbell and whoever else he heard those rumors from are outliers (maybe the others r even just straight up jealous or bitter that they didn't think to do it first?) bc chilchuck is literally out there saving lives �� like the more i think abt it im like ofc this guy was a teen dad and has three children. i mean he's still an idiot for fumbling his wife but i do imagine he may have been a heartthrob in his community the same way any normal man who happens to be really fucking tall always somehow gets bitches

It's something so dad-coded that I'm surprised no-one is talking about it. Only parents ask you "what did you do" when this kind of situations happens. Usually it would be "what happened", but he immediately knows Laios did something that pissed him off. Dad behaviour at its finest.
