More monstrous birdcurse. This is the design minus a few tweaks I'm going to make (more of a mane, fluffier tail, fix the wings) but those are mostly just rendering changes. The design as a whole is SET.

Week 1 - Quest

Quick concept sketch of some npcs for my pipe dream video game, Naimon (left) and Valerian (right)

They're elven shopkeepers/side quest givers. They both run the same shop which is split down the middle. Naimon's side is ocean-y and full of gold, gaudy things, whereas Valerian's is more witchy and spooky. They both deal in magic items, with Naimon focusing more on weapons and armor and things of that nature, whereas Valerian focuses on more unusual things like enchanted mirrors, cursed jewelry, and the like.

Valerian is subdued, sardonic, and mysterious whereas Naimon is a massive jerk. He enjoys messing with Valerian whenever he gets the chance, but is typically more gentle and polite with him than he might be with others. Valerian was in a magical accident when he was younger and now he gets fatigued very easily, especially when using magic. To recover, he has to spend time in moonlight.

To deal with Naimon, you'd have to haggle with him because he'd try to sell items at an absurd price. Alternatively he might just straight-up try to scam the player by selling them a worthless item disguised as something good. It'd be basically a minigame. Val would only be reachable at certain times of day, otherwise you'd just find him asleep or out in the moonlight. His inventory would be limited and would change frequently. This is because I'm evil.

Lastly, Valerian used to look much, much different and more in line with other elves of his type. That magical accident altered his appearance. He seeks a way to reverse this.

Progress of this bastard man I'm designing for a friend for our D&D campaign, the main inspirations were dionysus (obviously), louis xiv, and a cool fence I saw. He's an emperor. I'm going to make his fence-cape thing a lot more bulky and probably redo the bottom half of his outfit entirely. Hell, I might just make it all drapey toga fabric down there and give him gold sandals. Keep all the gold from the shoulders up and on his big fucked up fence-cape. Also you can see I was going to go with a more royal purple at first but went with some warmer colors instead.

Here's some design progress for the empress as well. A bastard woman. I'm very happy with the dress but her face eludes me. The swooshy wide trail thing on the dress is supposed to look like the stained glass of notre dame and the dress itself is supposed to be evocative of a chrysalis/butterfly. I might drop the butterfly themeing for her headpiece entirely because I CANNOT get butterfly wings to look good as a crown because it fucks up the balance of the shape her dress makes.

Good GOD the fully-rendered drawings of these jerks is going to take a long ass time

Realizing I haven't posted ANY Florian yet oops. He's the green guy. Died in a wholly separate incident from the Otyugh thing. He's haunting Jean-Luc's brain at the moment, as one does.

Jack's design is a liiittle all over the place right now, particularly in the hair department. I think I like shorter for him pre-Otyugh just because it sells the 'cocky hotshot' look a bit better (also literally all of these were drawn BEFORE the otyugh piece lmao)
