i do think geriatric sperm and mental issues are linked and the medical industry doesnt want to talk about it bc they’re busy shaming pregnant women in their late 30’s. like honestly anecdotally the children i knew growing up who had older mothers were completely fine. the children with older fathers were not however.

And then I think that that becomes a thing where Shawn's the one who actually believes in their love. Even more than Cory and Topanga at times. So it was weird for Shawn to be rooting and I thought, well, I don't know. I guess maybe if it had just been clear like, Topanga and I are taking a break, or we, you know, we said we and then it would be like, and then Cory's not able to do that. And Shawn's saying, you have to be able to do this to try it out and know that you can move on. But it's, it, it, I don't know why they left it kind of messy. I mean, I understand real life is messy and, you have these sort of like half breakups. But I guess I kind of want to just know for, for the sake of whether I should be on Shawn's side or not. Because I can't help but be like, Shawn shut up dude. -Rider

All right then this is, I mean, that is like some whacked up logic. I mean, how it's so self justified, right? Like, well, how can it be wrong if, if because I'm in love and if I do something out of love, then it can't be wrong, therefore it's not wrong. It's, you know, it's like if, how can it be bad if love can't be bad and I love you, therefore I can do nothing bad. Right? It's like, this is really not healthy. But the show bends to it for the rest of, I mean this is, this is the escalation that we set up now. There's no way out. She has to go, not go to Yale. They have to get married. Like, you've, you've changed the rules of the show. You've said from now on, Cory is, you know, this love is going to defy all the adults. It's going to defy reality and and that, that is just, and it's like, whoa, okay, now you can do nothing wrong. But I, if you're doing it for love. But the point of this episode is that every adult bends like every, and then the whole reality bends. -Rider
But they, they, they don't bend because they agree. You're right, you're in love, And, you should be together. They bend because the idea that Topanga has lived here her entire life and has grown up here, and it's only one year before she's gonna move for college anyway. And so they end up agreeing kind of like, not because you should be with Cory, but because really it's there it is a lot to ask of a 17-year-old kid to move the last year of high school and uproot their entire life if there is another solution so that she could stay. Not because I think she should stay because you and Cory should be together necessarily, but because it is an uprooting of your life. -Danielle
The point is that they are empowered through their love, and they are, they are better than the adults. They're better than the world and they're gonna make it no matter what. And that's just, that's a romance. It's a romance story. And they're gonna and, you know, now we've set ourselves up. That's why I thought maybe God, you know, it's kind of shortsighted because now the show has to keep insisting Cory and Topanga and it has to keep digging in deeper in order to rationalize. -Rider
But it gets even crazier because if they're juniors in high school, they're engaged in a year, right? -Will
Yeah. Oh yeah. I proposed at graduation. -Danielle
They're engaged in a year. -Will
How can it be crazy if you're in love? -Rider
You also notice that your hair your hair keeps getting wetter and then it's dry. And then it's wetter and then it's dry. - Will
It was bothering me the whole time. It's like, just stick with the fact that her hair's dry now. It's been enough time that her hair has dried Please. Or that I dried it with a hair dryer. We do not need to keep going back to having wet hair. -Danielle
So When, I say, your hair's wet. You're wearing Cory's clothes. That's like my next line.So I think that's why they had to like, oh wait, her hair's not wet enough. Go. -Rider
Make it. Her hair's a mess. Something. -Danielle
It was several levels of dampness. -Will
It was so it went, it went back and forth so many times. -Danielle
It did. It did. -Will
I didn't notice. -Rider
Then Shawn puts two and two together. Your hair's wet. You're wearing Cory's clothes. You ran away, didn't you? She nods and he laughs She gets that from me then.... I love the drive by involvement. -Danielle
Drive by Shawn. -Will
I wonder if there's ever a draft where they tried to keep me around for any of this discussion. -Rider

"Locotheo is situated between the Nile and the Brixontes... In these places, great multitudes of elephants are born." Elephant as illustrated in the Marvels of the East, in an early 11th-century scientific collection from Canterbury or Winchester
In the Masnavi, the poet Rumi told a story about a group of men who have never seen an elephant feeling an elephant in a dark room. Outside the room, they come up with completely different descriptions of what the creature looked like, because they had each touched a different bit.
Northern Europe for much of the early Middle Ages was a bit like the "Elephant in a Dark Room" experiment on a massive scale. The cultural impact of Africa and Asia meant that Europeans were aware of stories about elephants. But as this image from England 1000 years ago show, northern medieval artists sometimes had trouble piecing together the descriptions they received.
Date: early 11th century London, British Library, Cotton MS Tiberius B V/1, f. 82r

Just kidding. It was a very, it it was a very thrown together goodbye. -Will
I also think that it's very funny that Shawn's like, really sorry to say goodbye. Like, you could have kept that going for another couple of lines. Like, she's like, come on, Shawn. But it's also like, I, I'm also just Cory refusing to kiss her goodbye. Like what? It's like punishing her for like, she's supposed to feel bad for not being completely irrational about what's going on. Like, I think, I feel like she would press into that. -Rider
I think they're trying to play the finality of if he kisses her goodbye, it's real. -Will
But he's being a total, like, he's turning way. It's just like he's trying to make her feel bad. Like don don't, like why not just there don don't, there's a version of this that's funny. -Rider
Didn't think that either. I didn't think, I didn't think he was trying to make her feel bad. I think he was trying to, it's like, if I don't open my eyes right now, the bad thing in front of me is not actually there.  It's a very kid thing of kid way of doing. So I don't give you this last kiss... -Will
I kind of felt for Cory instead of feeling hurt for instead of feeling put off by him, I felt for him. I felt for someone who's like so in denial...It. He physically can't do it. Yeah. Yeah. And so I kind of, I felt for Corey in this, that, that instead of feeling like, Ugh, what a child. I was like, man, that that's, that's how I know. It's really, this is really hard for him that he's so in denial he can't see it. -Danielle
Yeah I don't think he was doing it to Topanga. -Will
Yeah, I agree. -Danielle
Yeah. I guess I wish that the Shawn denial was funnier with like, starts in the scene. I wish that it stayed that light. And I wish actually hearing you describe like him closing his eyes and saying, no, no, no, it's not happening. Like, there's a funny, there's a, I think there's a way to make Cory's, you know, denial funny and like, and active. Instead of sort of like intense and like negative and like pissed off. I was just like, I was just like, oh dude. Like, you know, and I didn't understand why Topanga doesn't push him more. Like Topanga should be like, hey, like it's not actually, you know something. Because it, this is about her emotions too, you know. It's like her, she's leaving like her whole life is getting ruined and I don't know. Like, and I think it could have been funny that she's trying to convince him of the reality and he's trying to convince her of his reality. Like that's, that could have been funny. -Rider

Also fake sipping. Ri the the Rider fake sipping. I don't know if you noticed this? Where? Pick it up. Pick it up the glass. -Will
I'm not actually drinking? -Rider
Not actually drinking. It just, it touches your lips and then comes back down. That's, that's a Riderism I've picked up a couple times. -Willl
Yeah. You gotta figure out how to do business, man. It's so important. I didn't actually notice that. -Rider

But does anybody have any guesses by the way of, of how close you think Chubbies is to the Matthews house? -Will
I mean, it has to be walking distance. Right? -Danielle
That's what I'm thinking. They can walk there, right? -Will
Everybody within walking distance. 'cause then we say Topanga lives around the corner in the two scenes. So I was like thinking. -Rider
So Chubby's is on one side of the train tracks. Cory lives over there. Shawn lives just on the other side of those train tracks. And, and Topanga lives around the back corner from Chubbies. So they're both walking distance. -Danielle
They're all chubbies adjacent. -Will
Correct. -Danielle
The trailer park is right in the middle. -Rider
But on the other side of the tracks. -Will
